Great boutique hotel on an amazing stretch of the Guadalupe River. Private river swimming access right from the property. Incredible river views from every room as you are perched among the treetops. Short walk to the heart of Gruene and all the shops and restaurants. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and easy parking. Will be back!

So glad we chose to stay at this charming boutique inn. Very thoughtful owners and staff! We stayed in the Sabinal room and had a beautiful view of the river and beyond. Cozy bed and clean room! Didn't get a chance to use the whirlpool tub, but it's big enough for 2. Loved spending time on the big patio overlooking the river. Great breakfast for only $5 more per person. Will definitely have to go back!

Description on the website is not as described. No bar, no snacks, etc. River access is great but it's a very long walk. Snacks mean bananas, apples, and oranges. They have water and soda but ask you to pay $1 for them. This place is structurally not sturdy or safe. You lean in the rooms and shower/bath. The place isn't leveled. For the amount of $ this was a disappointment. Oh and the reservation wasn't in my name so you won't find my name. And the "breakfast" that cost $5 are danishes.

Host was extremely friendly and helpful. Love the look and feel of this place. The water pressure was phenomenal (we like a good shower) lol plenty of hot water, the tub is a jacuzzi type. Beds were harder than we like but comfortable. The holy grail was the view! We watched the fireworks from our balcony, you could also watch them laying in bed due to wall of windows. We will be back! The town was also very accessible and so many great restaurants, bars, and shops. The river access was awesome although if you cannot walk alot of stairs this may be difficult for you. Also there is a ladder with handles to get into the river. All in all this place is worth staying at!

The view! The gorgeous view of the Guadalupe River and of the western sky at sunset was stunning. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good. There is a family of deer that seems to live on the property.

I had an issue and this Inn and its staff went beyond any requirement of service and completely exceeded all expectations of solving this issue for me. They literally cared more for me than their own resolve and their integrity is at a level almost unheard of in the world today. I am forever a loyal customer and as I travel around the world and stay in so many places I hope to find the highest level of superior customer service and just plain humanity I experienced at Gruene River Inn. I thank y’all for going beyond in a situation that you did not even have too and I am completely blown away by such action, professionalism, and kindness in doing what common sense says is the right thing to do. Thank you so much. You are my number one pick every time moving forward and I will share your goodwill every chance I get. Thank you again, Michael Hutchins

I almost judged this book(ing) by its cover. The hotel was doing some exterior construction and the outside seemed a little more rustic than I usually enjoy, however, my room was so comfortable. The bed, the temperature, the room were all perfect. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. Everything was either very recently remodeled or just exceptionally well cared for. I never actually met any of the staff because I arrived late and left early, but we texted back and forth and they gave me precise instructions on how to access my room. Couldn't have gone smoother. I go to Gruene every September for a small conference and next time I am going to stay a couple of nights here.

What a cute little Inn. We stayed in the Shania room, cute little room with fantasic view. 10 out of 10 on bed comfort, it was the most comfortable bed I've slept in a long time. The room is small but perfectly adequate for a short term stay. The shower has body wash, shampoo and conditioner and it very nicely sized. In addition to the Kcup machine outside in the hallway/ lobby there is Nespresso machine in the room. Cute little fridge in the rooms too, ours had water and coke and diet coke, that was a nice touch. We were there during construction but it did not effect us and check in was a breeze. There is cute outdoor patio area on property and the Inn is within walking distance ( 9 min walk) to town and dance hall. They text you before arrival and upon check in with your door code, no keys which is nice. You can also communicate through text for anything you need, I text early in the morning a request and response was prompt. I hope to come back once construction is done to see what they've done to this little gem of a hotel.

Took my wife here for her birthday and had a great time. Best views of the Guadalupe River!! You can hear the river quietly flow through the rocks at night.

Perfect place for a couples retreat! Cozy and cute. Staff was super friendly. The rooms overlook the river and had great features, like a jetted tub big enough for two! Walking distance to shops and historic downtown Gruene. We will definitely be coming back!

My husband and I just recently stayed here for the first time for our wedding anniversary a few weeks ago. We had some issues with getting double charged (once through booking.com and once through the actual inn itself.) This put us in quite a bind for the weekend as this left us out about $1000 dollars. The staff was SO amazing at handling and so quick at working to get it resolved. The booking.com charge was returned to us within 24 hours, and they completely comped our stay for the weekend due to the inconvenience. We’ve had some issues with getting back the original deposit we payed to book it, and Jane (one of the staff members) and Darryl (the owner) have been incredible about trying to get that worked out. It’s been 2 weeks and they are still working with me to ensure that we get that money back. They have even gone above and beyond and offered to mail a paper check if they can’t get it figured out with the bank. Now for the property itself: The property is beautiful! The views of the river are stunning and it is the cutest little boutique style Inn. Every single staff member all the way down to housekeeping was so friendly. It’s a short (1 min) drive into town or about a 10 minute walk. There is also river access right on the property which is great if you aren’t looking to deal with hassle of actually floating. My husband and I will definitely be returning!

My wife and I really enjoyed staying here. Our room was on the smaller side but was very comfortable with a breathtaking view. The food and drink service was lovely and the staff was very helpful with local recommendations.

Easy reservations. Jane was a sweetheart. Beautiful vintage room. Balcony and deck were perfect. Beds were comfy. Shower/jacuzzi a bit high but nice if you want to soak. Fireplace, fridge, microwave and TV in the room. Snacks, wine glasses, coffee bar on the main floor were a nice touch. Quiet. River access. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The view!!

Service and place is brilliant, rooms are cute and very nice too. Why the room got 2 stars is because of the hall way lights. When laying in bed the glass panel above the door is glass and the hall way is lit up. The amount of light that came in the room was like the light in the room was on. I slept with a towel over my head to try and block the light. Could find a light switch in the hall way either, other than that it's great.

Our room was clean and cute, our bed was comfy, and it was super quiet! The view from our balcony was beautiful and the staff was as friendly as could be! We were walking distance to all the fun Gruene things and there's river access at the hotel. We would definitely stay here again!!

Cute and clean rooms, staff was very friendly. BUT Every little noise is so loud. Bring a big fan to sleep with at night. The floors creak and crack. Try for an upstairs unit. The windows let alot of light in if your trying to sleep in.

Marvelous Boutique hotel, managed by very nice folks, homey comfort with very nice views of the Guadeloupe river and picturesque hillsides. The private balcony overlooking the river and countryside is wonderful, we really enjoyed this stay.

Great place! Worth the cost. The staff is amazing and it is right on the river as well as walking distance from Gruene Hall. I don't know her name but the lady in the white gown was helpful late night when I walked in to the dining area for a slice of cake.

Couldn't have asked for a more quaint, comfortable, charming and convenient place to stay to celebrate our anniversary. Jane, the inn keeper, made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Awesome location - about a 7-10 minute walk into the heart of Gruene. My favorite aspects of the inn are that it has direct river access and each room has a balcony/deck that overlooks the river. Highly recommend, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Excellent location for walking into Gruene or down to the river. Clean accommodations with good AC for the summer heat. It was nice to walk down to the river as well. The staff was all very nice and helpful. The room layout keeps the rooms quieter than your standard hotel layout as well. Will definitely try to make it back here.
