Finally! A Halal Mexican restaurant. Everything was amazing! Truly above and beyond my expectations. The bowls, the chicken wings, and the churros. Extremely fresh, great quality. I’d definitely recommend it to everyone. I’ll be coming back for more! Great atmosphere, great staff, and an amazing restaurant to eat at. 10/10

It is a great halal Mexican place that is a welcome addition to the area. The burritos are very large and stuffed with fresh and flavorful ingredients. The wings were crispy, but you had to sauce them yourself, which I was ok with (less mess). The churros are freshly made and stuffed with filling, making them easier to eat. The service was also very friendly and fast. Overall, it was definitely a great experience, and I can't wait to come back! Tip: Parking is limited to street parking, but the garage across the street is only $3 for the first hour.

I appreciate that the restaurant offers Halal options without compromising on taste or quality. The service was another highlight of my experience. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and Halal options. They were more than willing to answer any questions I had and made sure I had everything I needed throughout my meal. The overall dining experience at Jalapeño Shack was outstanding. The ambiance, the food, and the service all came together to create a memorable and enjoyable time. Whether you're a fan of Mexican cuisine or looking to try something new, I highly recommend this amazing restaurant for a delightful and Halal-friendly meal. So happy a halal Mexican restaurant finally opened up on campus!! I tried the steak quesadilla and it was delicious. The portion sizes are pretty large and more than enough for one person. The staff is very welcoming, hospitable and friendly. Definitely a must try spot if you’re in the Rutgers area!!!

It was okay. The price was quite high, $20 per person I guess or more. Not sure exactly but 2 items with two drinks came at $40+. The food was cold as well, I would assume atleast the meat, rice, tortilla should be warm. The flavor was there and I would try again soon hoping to be better.

Awesome spot! I tried the steak bowl and it was top-notch. The steak was really tender, just the way I like it. What made it even better was the variety of sauces they had to offer - there was something for everyone. The service was quick and friendly, which is always a plus. I've been to similar spots before, but this one really takes the cake. It's like Chipotle, but with a Halal twist and even tastier. Definitely a place I'll be going back to.

got the bowl with seasoned brown rice and added a little bit of everything (except the spicy sauce), all the protein was very flavorful — standout was the shrimp (cooked just right & very juicy!). everything mixed together was delicious! i’m very indecisive, so employees were very friendly and helpful! bonus if you’re looking for good halal food
