BEWARE !! DO NOT SEE DR. BETSY MATTHEWS !! Honestly have never felt so upset and disregarded by a doctor the way Betsy Matthews disregarded my request. I had tested positive for HPV 16 & 18 which caused my previous OBGYN to remove a piece of my cervix. Since that was only a year prior to this appointment, I wanted her to retest me to make sure that the HPV was dormant and there were no cell changes. She insisted that I only had to get a pap done to test for HPV every 3 years after I test negative once (which I did after they removed the piece of my cervix). I still wanted to get the pap done however WHICH IM ENTITLED TO, and so she said she would go ahead and test it. At the time I did not have access to my lab corp results and so she read the results to me claiming that the results came back negative. Fast forward 2 YEARS LATER when I created my Labcorp account, I opened up the document just to see that she had only tested for malignancies/ cancer and DID NOT TEST FOR HPV! I am furious because I now have not been tested since 2018 and tested positive again for high-risk HPV. I was also never advised by Betsy Matthews to take extra vitamins rich in folic acid in order to keep my HPV dormant !! I was not ever educated on what HPV is, and how I can manage it. She basically made it seem like it was not a big deal which my current OBGYN disagrees strongly with. Many patients are often times lied to or ignored by their Doctors. My advice to anyone who reads this is to ALWAYS OBTAIN COPIES OF YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS ! Never ever trust a doctor to take results you request unless you see It with your own two eyes. Sad to say that a lot of Doctors do not genuinely care for your well being and it is up to you, to be diligent in managing your own health.

I have been going here for a while now and my previous primary doctor left the practice and now there is a new one in her place. I went in for an appointment specifically for something. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment time and ended up waiting outside for over 40 minutes. Then once they took me back to my room I waited another hour in that room before the doctor came in meanwhile I was supposed to be back at work after my appointment. Nobody came in to tell me that the doctor was running very behind I would’ve left and went to work they just stuck me in a room and left me there and by the time I finally got to leave the lights were off in the lobby I couldn’t even pay my co-pay because nobody was at the front desk. What’s the point of making appointment when it’s never on time. Peoples time is very valuable.....

Nice place, but you never get the same Doctor All the Doctors are students. Some of the Doctors are so rude they treat you as if you dont know anything. This Dr. KOMAL BHATT she does not know to talk to patients. Somebody should take action on her.

Receptionist with glasses and short ginger hair at front desk was incredibly rude for no reason. Gave me attitude because I kindly asked for a mask for my dad and I, and then proceeded to nod her head and roll her eyes at me. Looked like she absolutely hated her job when she was asking me questions. I'm a medical receptionist too, and never once treated any patient with such blatant disrespect. If you hate interacting with people, don't work at the front desk or any medical facility for that matter. On the other hand, the doctor I saw was super nice and understanding. I wish I can rate it 5 stars for the doctor I saw, but the experience with the front desk made it my visit here absolutely awful.

This place shouldn't be considered a doctors office. I am a patient here and came in yesterday as a walk-in because I was so sick . My husband sat me down and waited in line to check me in . when he got to the front desk women , she asked what I was feeling . he told her I had pink eye , nausea, and fever . he also made mention that I did not have covid ( I tested twice because of the way things are I wanted to be double sure ) Now she writes down my symptoms and tells him she need to check if the doctors will see me . Off the bat we were confused but said ok . She returned and started to check us in and asked what other symptoms do I have . So we began to explain how I haven't been able to keep any food down for 3 days , fever, diarrhea, congestion's and cough. she responds with oh well you didn't say all that . I need to go back and check with the doctors about that. Now it's crazy that I have to share all my symptoms in this way with zero privacy but I needed to be seen. Also I am the first one that understands covid has forever changed things but again I am covid free , sick and in need of care. The doctors take oaths to provide care to those in need. not pick and choose what symptoms they want to heal. I have never in my life had to deal with this . I have never been treated like I had the plague even when I did have covid I wasn't treated like this . This is my family practice and I am ashamed that this is how I was treated. And this place claims to teach other soon to be doctors. I am seriously concerned . Rutgers health has fallen short of the oath they took. This place is horrible . Because of this I had to go to the ER and pay more all because my primary had to determine if I was worth providing care to. Absolutely disgusting . This place shouldn't be open let alone teaching future doctors.

Horrible. Took 3 days of calling until someone answered. They have numerous ppl answering rhe phone but no one talks to each other so that everyone is on the same page. So as a patient, you end up repeating yourself and playing telephone. We get here and request a female doctor and that turned into them having to push our app like another hour later after a nurse already did the intake and she sidnt wven knoq there were no female doctors . We specified several times it was a physical for school amd oh God, it was a continued downhill experience from there. I was recommended by my co-worker and I wanted to not judge bases on the poor ratings and comments already established on Google. But Google was accurate. Never again.

The worst place. My PCP does not care about my health. She makes all your issues so small and does not even try to help you. If you need a referral to a specialist you can ask million of times but you will never get it. My health became worse after coming to this practice. Please go somewhere else and save your health from this practice. They make you more sick so you can keep coming back in every few weeks to give them business. This places needs to replace their doctors.

The quality of the service received place has continued to plummet. Previously, you could call and easily speak to a live person. Now, you sit on hold for 20 mins. This place is starting to run like a free clinic. Very sad. I’ll be switching after my next visit.

My pharmacy contacted them to refill my prescriptions on 10/4/2023, they never responded. I called on12/12 as requested by the pharmacy, for the first t no call back. Called again on 12/13 and finally received a call back late Friday afternoon. I was assured the my prescriptions were being marked urgent as I am traveling and will run out. I checked with the pharmacy on Monday and again Tuesday several times and nothing was ordered. I called again on Tuesday, left a message and still no response. I even called the nurse line. No call back. Obviously patient care is not a priority. Time to find a new doctor.

I have been going to this office for the past eight to nine years. The doctors I have seen are phenomenal! I highly recommend them. I love the fact that if I have an emergency I can see another doctor in the same team. The staff has always been very professional. I have seen the reviews that stated long waits. I have never had a long wait. In fact to the contrary, they have always been very timely.

All-around horrible place. For starters, this office is mainly staffed by residents of Rutgers Medical School and as a result they aren't always resourceful or knowledgeable about everything. Their advise and recommendations should always be double checked. For instance, Dr. Cansu Baycora will refuse to do simple blood tests that were periodically conducted by previous doctors (retired, therefore was assigned a new doctor). Be very careful if you are a diabetic patient because these residents aren't very resourceful when helping patients control their diabetes. I know they aren't very resourceful because I have consulted with other doctors that were able to provide a list of things that wasn't even brought up by Dr. Baycora. Treatment and advise provided by Dr. Baycora was very one dimensional rather than a holistic approach to treatment. For instance, doctors should try to understand when diabetic patients' sugar levels are peaking throughout the day. For that you have to keep track of the sugar levels three times a day for a month or so. This is something Dr. Baycora never mentioned. It goes to show that they are inexperienced doctors. RWJ doctors also have a tendency of pushing RWJ offices and facilities rather than providing information of facilities that are the best in the area. Wait times are insane. They make you wait 5-20 minutes outside and then 20-40 minutes in the room before a doctor comes in. I wouldn't want to go here unless it's your only option.

On March 28th of this year, I appeared for my appointment. I had no idea I was scheduled for a physical. Regardless of the fact, it does not give anyone the right to be treated the way I was treated in the exam room! DR. Joshua Katz was dismissive, argumentative and was belittling. After feeling dismissed from the beginning, I agreed to the physical then he continued to discuss the paperwork that was in a different language, I told him I can get them translated...he continued to be argumentative with me. He asked what the paperwork said and what was my main concern and I told him - blocked artery. But he kept on with the paperwork being in a different language. He even asked me to tell him how a blocked artery is diagnosed...he asked me repeatedly the same question belittling me. I responded that's what I am here for...I left the exam room because I could no longer tolerate the abuse of that man. I understand there are protocols and as stated I AGREED to the physical, so why did he continue to berate me. Now I have to find another physician after being a patient at this medical facility for over 10 years.

So I’ve been going to this practice with my newborn baby up until 7 months. Reason we stopped was due to a move. The doctors we saw was very professional and easy to deal with. When we had an emergency we could easy contact the doctor for answers. The nurses we dealt with are really good and I felt very comfortable with them. However, if you value your time and don’t want to wait for your appointment, this is not a good place. EVERY appointment we had, we needed to wait 30-60 min (!!!) with a newborn! That’s why I rate this 3 stars.

If I could give this place lower than a 1 star rating I would. Absolutely disgusting behavior on the phone. No accommodation for late arrivals due to their mistake of not picking up the phone. Stating it’s a new policy which was never advised ahead of time. Not sure how this place is licensed. HORRIBLE

Should be shut down. An absolute atrocity of a healthcare system. To have spent hours on the phone with different members of their team only to be prescribed the wrong medication TWICE has been a painfully horrible experience. Maybe the doctors are fine, but being treated by the nurse practitioner is not.

I'm giving it 1 star so I can add this review but I wish I could give 0 stars honestly. This place truly sucks! no one really cares about the patients at all. I had to call 8 times, and several messages to MyChart and several refill requests, call the nurses line and leave a message for the pink/green/yellow team nurses (not sure which one is my doctors nurse because there's no way of know who that is by just calling in) and no one ever answers or call you back. I literally had to call 8 times to finally get someone to help me and I STILL don't have my meds. Then they want to give you this whole story about how the nurses don't take live calls blah blah blah. ALL I NEEDED WAS REFILL ON TWO SCRIPTS!!!! Why is this a struggle??? to be honest health care at RWJ is so terrible!!! PLEASE RETHINK COMING HERE IS IT NOT GOOD.

It must be 10 years or more that I have been going here at Family Medicine and I don't remember any negative times. They have always gone above and beyond to help me. I can call my nurse(she knows my info and me) She (T) has helped me 110% ! I am sorry for anybody that had a negative experience but this is a good place honestly.

Excellent primary care doctors and competent nurses. Yes, scheduling regular care can be challenging due to the physicians also holding teaching positions at the medical school. It can be easier to schedule with a resident doctor but if you need routine care (which most people going to family medicine do) you'll want one of the attending physicians to be your primary. The scheduling office and sometimes the front desk have been very problematic in the past. VERY. However, i have noticed that things have improved recently since introducing MyChart. You can avoid most interactions with the front desk and scheduling office by using the online system. This is probably your best bet. The nurses have also improved their callback time recently for most requests. This used to be an issue. You'll still want a separate urgent care clinic for any immediate needs, but this is the case everywhere in the US now, isn't it?

I needed to drink a lot of water before my ultrasound and because they give out poor instructions, she couldn’t see what she needed to see initially. She then proceed...
