I
recently
attended
a
funeral
mass
for
a
dear
friend
at
St
Mary's.
When
I
had
a
second
home
in
New
Buffalo
many
years
ago
I
also
attended
St
Mary's
on
many
occasions.
It
is
not
only
an
exquisite,
simple,
lovely
and
beautiful
Church
but
the
priest
saying
the
mass
that
day
was
quite
extraordinary.
He
made
it
seem
as
though
he
had
known
my
friend
for
many
years.
I'm
not
certain
that
he
ever
met
her,
yet
he
made
it
seem
as
though
he
not
only
knew
her
but
he
knew
all
of
us.
The
rituals
and
the
formalities
of
the
Roman
Catholic
Church
can
be
healing
especially
in
times
of
sorrow
but
only
when
the
priest
leading
such
rituals
is
invested
in
the
hearts
and
souls
of
the
people
that
are
in
attendance.
It
was
an
exquisite
ceremony.
True
to
the
Catholic
Church,
and
at
the
same
time
faithful
to
my
friend.
Thank
you
to
all
at
St
Mary's
and
may
my
friend
rest
in
peace,
amen.
