Worth visiting if you like to a long walks. The wildlife refuge starts at the end of River walk. Very scenic place especially during evening you can find very beautiful sunset. I have uploaded few evening sky shots and sun set shots. You can either walk or take a ride on bike on the bridge. This ride will go till the start of River walk. For restrooms you will have to use the ones in restaurants beside the board walk. For this you need to ride for 5 mins towards River walk starting point.

This place was amazing. Well set up and a great space away from the hustle of the city. The boardwalks were well maintained. Clean restrooms available. Lots of people out for walks, runs, and bike rides. The sounds of the birds was very soothing! Area felt very safe!

Love this place! Most is accessible. If you look close there is a snake in the grass by my grandsons feet!

Beautiful place to walk even now in November! Very nice touches like bicycle racks and a bicycle station that had tools for fixing a bike and air pumps for the tires. The Visitor Center is a lovely place to stop and the restrooms are open at least at this point in time.

Great place for wildlife sightings! We saw many birds, a rabbit, a young deer, 2 groundhogs, and a osprey nest. The gentleman inside the center was very friendly and set up the scope so we could get a close up view of the osprey nest and young deer.

No charge to walk the lovely wildlife boardwalk trail. Beautiful marshlands. Didn't see any animals, not even birds which seemed strange. Still enjoyed looking at all the plants, water and flowers. There is an air- conditioned information center, if you have any questions when you arrive. Also, you can walk up the stairs in the building and get good views of the city and wildlife area. The walking/ bicycle trail is 5 miles and goes to Battery park, (so we were told). Sounds like fun!

Though there wasn't much wildlife out today but the nature center was open. You can find some animals in there, dead or alive. The nature trails by the river are very cool and the giant tree sculpture/play area is very cool. The views from the top of the ramps are breathtaking and the long walkways that lead into the refugee are amazingly built structures. Lots of walking/running room there. Enjoy!

Definitely worth the drive. There wasn't a lot of wild life out, but it was a nice experience anyway

I lived in DE all my life and always wanted to explore this area. I moved to FL 10yrs ago and came back for a visit and had to go exploring. It was great. I was glad to see Delaware reinvesting back n2 the environment. Especially since I saw 2 Bald eagles. 1 in Middletown and 1 in Christiana/Stanton area. Follow me On IG sunsetsbystevenj

Breathtaking. Walking, biking, meandering. Indoor and outdoor interpretive activities for all ages. Clean restrooms. Our GPS took us a super weird way so yours might too.
