Safdarjung Palace is a a family of hum do hamare do but people from all life experiences are welcome to their home. Free chai and sutta if you compliment their palak pots and pesto sauce. Dare not clean and touch the dust worn bookshelves. History survives here.

A calm place to live...but not so peaceful

I love spending my sundays here. Love their book collection and the balcony with ample sunlight. If you are lucky you could get some freshly brewed coffee on some days.

There are so many lovely palaces and monuments to explore in Delhi but Safdarjung Palace is my favorite by far, a real hidden gem with a rich history. Recommended to arrive in mid-morning when chai is sometimes served or in the evening for parathas. Can be difficult to locate, but if you can find a certain Lucy Singh who lives in the area then she may help you find it
