We went on a family trip to Almaty city and covering entire Almaty region in our 7 night 8 days stay. Rixos and Ritz Carlton are excellent properties to stay at. Lake kolsai, lake kaindy and Charyn canyon are excellent places to visit if you are on extended trip to Almaty and want to get a feel of real Kazakhstan. Our guide Arman was quite helpful, knowledgeable and polite. Though just 1 day is enough to cover tourist spots within the city and casinos outside city are also and can be avoided unless you are really into casino and gambling. Overall it was a memorable trip in an unexplored and serene locations.

In November 2023, I arranged a trip to Uzbekistan through Travels Mantra for our group of 11 people, with Tashkent as our destination. Ten of them had already arrived and booked their packages together. I joined them a few hours later, having booked my package separately to join the group. Initially, my communication with Travels Mantra was satisfactory, and they were generally responsive. However, our experience with the Uzbekistan guide was unsettling. As a woman, I found his behavior to be uncomfortable, marked by inappropriate remarks such as addressing me as "dear" and displaying creepy conduct. Despite having a pre-scheduled airport transfer with him, I had to cancel it due to the discomfort he caused. My friends had left the night before, and I was scheduled for a private airport transfer with him the next morning. Even after informing him I wasn't interested in the transfer the previous night, he appeared in the hotel lobby and tried to persuade me to join him. He only left when someone else intervened, causing the entire incident to leave me feeling frightened. I sought a refund for this portion of the trip from Travels Mantra, but my request was ignored. Additionally, the tour guide exhibited questionable practices. He took us to restaurants where he received commissions, disregarding the dietary preferences of clients, especially vegetarians. On numerous occasions, vegetarians in the group went hungry. At the same time, the guide ordered food for us based on his preferences, with the added surprise of having to pay for his "sumptuous" meals, which was not mentioned in the package. Furthermore, the guide avoided taking us to Charvak Lake (until the waters and parked the car on some hill pretty far away), citing payment issues and claiming that vans were not allowed there. However, some friends who ventured there reported seeing no charges and observed a four-wheeler path. Despite having time, the guide only allotted 15 minutes for the visit. Sightseeing was also rushed, with limited time allocated to most places, even though our schedule allowed for a more leisurely exploration. After evaluating the prices in Uzbekistan, it's evident that Travels Mantra does not provide value for money. I caution solo female travelers considering Uzbekistan trips with Travels Mantra to exercise caution based on my experience.

My wife and I were part of a 41 member group who did a most enjoyable holiday tour of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia in September 2023. The tour was extremely well conducted by Travels Mantra Holidays. The hotel accommodation and food arrangements were good, and most importantly, the sightseeing was well planned and conducted by competent guides, who were available to us throughout. Transport arrangements were meticulous. Prabhjot of Travels Mantra was most efficient and responsive throughout.

We, a group of ten senior citizens (five couples), went on a 9-days tour (26 Oct to 03 Nov 22) of Bishkek and Almaty, spending four nights at each city. The tour was organised by Travels Mantra and Prabhjot was our liaison person. The tour was extremely enjoyable. Our group feedback is given below:- 1. Prabhjot has been exceptionally efficient, prompt in response and positive in acceding to our requests. He organised the tour with due diligence, catering to our requirements. 2. Local guides, Nikita at Bishkek and Armaan at Almaty, were knowledgeable, helpful and punctual. They were a great asset. Ms Gulmira at Almaty ensured that we were well looked after. She was personally overseeing the programme. Vehicles for local travel were comfortable and the drivers were very proficient. Our thanks to the local staff at Bishkek and Almaty. 3. The itinerary was well planned. It was not overly rushed and yet we visited all the sites in a leisurely manner. 4. Garden Hotel at Bishkek was comfortable, homely and hospitable. However, the same cannot be said of Hotel Ramada Almaty. It is certainly a disgrace to the brand name Ramada. The staff is most unresponsive, displaying undertones of racial bias. No Indian should stay in this hotel. Despite three reminders and a wait of two hours, the hotel failed to deliver a bucket of ice in the room, of course on payment. Room layout is faulty - a huge concrete column in the centre of the room reduces the space considerably (Rooms 621 and 428). Towel peg in one bathroom was broken (Room 429). Room upkeep was shoddy - trash was left uncleaned. In one room, a worn out towel with a big tear was placed. It was shown to the Supervisor who offered a drink as compensation - height of shamelessness. In yet another room, the house keeping staff forgot to place bath towels. Despite repeated calls to the Reception, the hotel failed to deliver them. Consequently, the couple had to go for breakfast without bath. On the whole, the tour was very well organised. Pls find below my feedback and there are few things where Travels Mantra can improve. - The guide provided in Almaty, Arman is very good and knowledgeable. He’s flexible and assisted in booking a cab(when we went out on our own) & got an adaptor for us. - Holiday Inn hotel provided in Almaty is congested for 3 people. - 2nd day to Shymbulak is not worth, as the second cable car is not operational. You could have found out this information well in advance and accordingly we could have adjusted the itenary. - The guide provided in Baku, Sabina is good, knowledgeable and flexible. - Park Inn hotel in Baku is very good. - The 6th day to Gabala is OK. Even here the itenary says there’s history & you will see ruins of the ancient city, which is misleading. Also there is no Para Gliding & other activities, as they are not operational for quite sometime. Wish you could have enquired about this & updated us before our travel. It’s waste of efforts & money for us. - Other days were good.

In Gabala Garden Hotel in Gabala and Winter Park hotel in Baku where many Indians stay you should ask hotels to make some Indian vegetarian dish in breakfast. Services from Travel Mantra were superb . Right from pickup from airport till drop to airport . Further Mr Prabhjot cooperation were remarkable. Thanks to him to make our holiday memorable.
