The Rail Museum is a delightful destination for train enthusiasts and history buffs alike. It showcases a fascinating collection of vintage locomotives, carriages, and artifacts that highlight the evolution of railways in India. The museum's outdoor exhibits, including the toy train ride and the working model railway, offer an interactive and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages. The indoor galleries provide insightful information about the Indian Railways' rich heritage and its impact on the country's development. The museum also offers educational programs and events. However, it can get crowded during weekends and holidays. Overall, the Rail Museum is a must-visit for its engaging exhibits, immersive displays, and the opportunity to learn about India's railway history in an entertaining way.

A good place for kids to absorb a lot of facts about railways. There is a covered area and there is an uncovered area. The covered area is more like a museum with miniature displays of rail and the working of it. Can be explored in summers.

A good place for kids to absorb a lot of facts about railways. There is a covered area and there is an uncovered area. The covered area is more like a museum with miniature displays of rail and the working of it. Can be explored in summers. The uncovered area calls for good weather. There is a toy train which is a nice attraction for kids. You can take a ride in it. Remember to book tickets online for the entry as well as this toy train. There are huge displays of engines/train outside. One can take a stroll . Very well maintained. There is a cafe in the premises as well which I did not try. A lot of vendors are available outside the museum for refreshments. A small shop is available inside too. Go in good weather, I would say. Age 4 + recommended.

This place is perfect for one day out with family. Alot of ancient railway engines and the passenger cars. A 5 minute rail ride costs Ra. 250 person which is quite expensive.

It was a nice experience! We are not railway enthusiasts, but still enjoyed the heritage of wheels on track in India! Some things were not working or under maintenance at the time we went.

If you're looking for a day outing with kids in New Delhi, in pleasant weather, this could be your pick. The place is a must visit once kind of place, with so many different kinds of engines and compartments on display. You have the liberty to click pics, and take the toy train ride within the campus. It is nicely maintained and even has a cafe inside and an indoor museum as well (along with the huge area covered with different train engines and compartments.) The place teaches our kids the evolution of trains, very practically and enjoyably.

Overall 2 stars.. Its a nice and spacious place to visit They have beautiful greenery, you'll find more than enough numbers of benches all around to sit and relax, it gives you a huge emotional hit if you like trains, stations. They have different price(double) for weekends and holidays. They offer 5 adventure, from which only 2(Toy train and joy train) are something you will enjoy. Also tickets for these two rides are cheaper. Then they have 3 Simulators(diesel engine, steam engine and coach simulator), BELIEVE ME you will regret if you buy these tickets. These are nothing but digital ride experience, so they have placed a dummy train engine, and a screen in front of that. Steam engine ride was the worst, screen was super old, slow and laggy, I dont know some 80's or 90's animation was playing in it. Also you have to wait for too long to enter these simulators, as only 2 people are allowed at once which takes 7-8 minutes per show. Also the attendants are very slow and disinterested in their work. If you happen to buys a full package ticket go for golden ticket, NOT DIAMOND. Please take you own food, they let you take it with you inside. Because the cafe here, oh god, they have worst food I've ever tasted. Also number of tables are very few as compared to the public, so you'll have to wait a lot. Other than this it's a nice place to visit special in winters when the weather is beautiful and cold.

Absolutely delightful place to visit. If you have the tiniest affection with trains, you are going to enjoy the museum a lot. There is whole mini city model with trains but it wasn't working last time I visited.

    - it is a good place to visit for a locomotive lover and for others too - it's a good open place but shaded well with trees - Visitor needs at least 3-4 hours to visit - They have 2 fun rides of trains for all visitors - they have a in-house restaurant too. But only veg is served - parking is available however it is available on hourly basis - overall a good place to visit

Very very captivating place I have ever seen before. The history of our railways, the joy train and especially cafeteria food is so awesome that I can't resist myself to give a 5 star rating to this place
