A Buddhist temple is the place of worship for Buddhists, the followers of Buddhism. They include the structures called vihara, stupa, wat and pagoda in different regions and languages. Temples in Buddhism represent the pure land or pure environment of a Buddha. Traditional Buddhist temples are designed to inspire inner and outer peace.[1] Its structure and architecture varies from region to region. Usually, the temple consists not only of its buildings, but also the surrounding environment. The Buddhist temples are designed to symbolize 5 elements: Fire, Air, Earth, Water, and Wisdom. It's a great and small temple .

Mind blowing place for meditation. Buddhism was founded by lord buddha, he was born as Prince Siddharth in Nepal 2500 years back. This temple is open for all cast and religion as lord buddha dos'nt considers any difference in all humans. Small temple but gives you complete peace of mind and relaxation. Must visit place in Delhi.

Delhi, a city of mighty kingdoms, historically relates to the most inspirational Sutta (discourse) of Maha Satipatthana preached in its vicinity. King Kanishka (2nd Cen. A.D.) also attempted to establish Buddhist teachings in Delhi. The Buddhist Temple was offered by the British Viceroy of India, handed over to the Maha Bodhi Society and the cost of the construction was entirely donated by the generosity of Raja Seth Jugal Kishore Birla. The foundation stone was laid by K. Yonewaza, the Japanese Consul General in India in 1931 and this Buddhist Temple (Delhi Center) of Maha Bodhi Society of India was reverentially opened by Mahatma GANDHI in 1939 before Independence of India. He declared “all castes are equal an".

It's a small and peaceful Temple. They offer Vipassana meditation classes every Sunday from 10am to 11.30am. Open to all. It's a perfect place for meditation whenever one feels like. They do have a small bookstore. Parking is available at Birla Temple which is adjacent to it. Neat and clean place.

This is a hidden gem which sits between the popular Birla Mandir and Kalibari on Mandir Marg. Small but beautiful premise. Excellent place to sit at peace and meditate if one wishes to do so in the hall which houses the image of the Buddha. There is a small garden with the Bodhi tree. A beautiful image of the Buddha sits under the tree. I visited in the evening when the services were about to begin. The monk in charge of the evening prayer was very kind to allow some of us to join him in offering incense to the Lord and chant after him while circling the Bodhi tree. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

Absolutely serine. One can feel inner peace in here. The temple is between Kalibari and Lakshmi Narayan temple. It is just 3 mins walking from Tirupati Balaji temple. ** Shoes to be kept in racks however, unguarded. ** 10 min walking distance from R K Ashram Marg metro station situated in blue 🔵 line.
