Misra Yantra is said to be built by son of Sawai Maharaja Jai Singh... Maharaj Madho Singh (1751-1768). Misra Yantra is the mixture of five different instruments. 1. Dakshinottar Bhitti 2. Samarat Yantra 3. Niyat Chakra Yantra 4. Karka Rashi Valay 5. Pashchimi Vrashpad. It is located on the left side of large Samrat Yantra and the it's not in center but still the center of attraction of the tourists. And if you are Archeology and Astronomy Lover you will find different vibes.

The Mishra yantras were able to indicate when it was noon in various cities all over the world and was the only structure in the observatory not invented by Jai Singh II. The Jantar Mantar (literally the 'instrument and formula' and often called the Jantar Mantar), is located in the modern city of New Delhi, Delhi. It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur, from 1724 onwards, and is one of five built by him, as he was given by Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah the task of revising the calendar and astronomical tables. There is plaque fixed on one of the structures in the Jantar Mantar observatory in New Delhi that was placed there in 1910 mistakenly dating the construction of the complex to the year 1710. Later research, though, suggests 1724 as the actual year of construction.

Its was usually used to indicate the time.. it is composed of five different instruments. The five component yantras are the Dakshinottara Bhitti, Samrat (a smaller version of the large sundial, attached to Misra Yantra, in two halves), Niyat Chakra, Karka Rasivalaya, and the Western Quadrant.its good to be here see all these structures.

This is situated inside the Jantar Mantar tourist spot of the capital. This place is not so big and so famous but it has its own importance. The Ancient time Telling watch is installed here that is called Jantar Mantar. It is designed in such a way that it reflects the sunlights and tells the time . All details about it's functioning are encraved on the board...

High precision, accurate, Kept intact for over 200 years, Astronomy at its best, This Yantra is pecular to Jantar Mantar located at Delhi as it defines Five 5 Astronomical Functions. Hence it is the first highly accurate clock in the history of Mankind with an actual precision of 2 Seconds over the span of one revolution around the our solar sun.

There are good internal structures present here. Detailings are good. But they are not allowing visitors inside. If they allow inside it will be a good experience for the curious childrens and young researchers. I think it is bit modified structure from the past the windows at the back side looks recent dated.

Mishra Yantra is one of the four distinct astronomical instruments of the Jantar Mantar observatory located in New Delhi, India.[1] Each instrument at the Jantar Mantar are separate brilliant architectures constructed based on mathematical observations, and help in calculating different aspects of celestial objects and time. It is widely believed that the Jantar Mantar was constructed in the year 1724. The four instruments of Jantar Mantar are Samrat Yantra (a large sundial for calculating time), Jay Prakash Yantra (2 concave hemispherical structures, used to ascertain the position of Sun and other heavenly bodies), Ram Yantra (two large cylindrical structures with open top, used to measure the altitude of stars based on the latitude and the longitude on the earth) and the Mishra Yantra (meaning mixed instrument, since it is a compilation of five different instruments).

A very good place to explore ancient mechanics discovered by our great kings to predict time and planetary movements. There's an entrance fee of Rs. 25 and the nearest metro station is Shivaji Stadium or Rajiv Chowk. The place would take around 1 hour to explore and understand about the yantras. There's a cloak room where bags can be kept.

Specially would like to write about the washrooms at this place. Very few places have good clean and highly maintained washrooms. Jantar Mantar Washroom is one of it. The janitor was maintaining them very neatly and wasvery polite.
