A wonderful pub located on the edge of the New Forest NP where you'll see an abundance of wild horses and wildlife whilst you sit and enjoy a meal or a drink. Dinner of beef and ale pie, a Tomahawk steak was delicious. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere.

Had a really nice Sunday lunch, portion size was huge, certainly worth the money. We had pork and beef, both had plenty of meat and very tasty. The staff were very good, friendly and helpful. Dog friendly. The only thing that would put me off going again is that the place was quite ‘sticky’, the furnishings were filthy, it felt like the place would benefit from a good clean and some new furniture.

Under new management we thought we'd pop in to see what changes had been made. The team were very friendly and hospitable. Unfortunately for us our favourite cornish beer and cider are no longer on draught (one of the main reasons we personally liked picking this venue.) With that being said they still had a great range of drinks to choose from. Opted for a light bite style lunch, my friend had nachos and I chose the bacon brie baguette. The nachos were big enough for a main course or a snack sharer and the cheese had been layered through the dish. Exactly what you want rather than a bowl of crisps with cheese on top. The bacon brie baguette came out and was more than enough to satiate my hunger. I'll definitely still visit the Fighting cocks, unfortunately maybe not as frequently (because of the rattler.) A definite place to go if you're local/in the area though.

An amazing location for a pub and sits just before the end of the main road through the forest. Note that animal do roam around the car park. Great drink and food options too, even if you’re travelling past. Food and an alcoholic drink was around £15 each

Lovely traditional pub in a fantastic location (right next to the New Forest). The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Not only do they have a broad range on the menu, but the food itself is very tasty and great value for money. They're also very dog friendly!

It has changed hands since the last time we visited. The menu was unique and inclusive, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our four legged furry friends were also made to feel very welcome. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food choices and will be back again soon to try out some more of the menu.

What a little gem of a pub, don’t be put off by the smell of the local donkeys, we had an amazing meal outside in the sunshine, the steak pie was packed with meat and burger was delicious too, lovely staff .. entertained by the donkeys just mooching into the road and making the cars wait till they were ready to move

Booked well in advance for New Year’s Day as staying at nearby holiday park and had had a lovely meal there back in August. Great meal and excellent service by Sam. Friends joining us later in our stay arrived and we couldn’t eat at the park as fully booked due to lack of staff so we went again. The service (Sam there again!) and food was so good we went again!! Ate there three nights of our four night stay! Very accommodating as there was seven of us, one baby and five dogs! Staff couldn’t be any kinder and polite and food and drink excellent! Definitely going again on next visit. Thanks all.
