Absolutely fabulous food & service. The menu had many choices and we sampled a carne asada burrito, enchiladas calabacitas, fish & pork tacos. Our daughter was even able to have pancakes from the special Easter Brunch Menu. Everything was delicious and the portions were good-sized. We took leftovers home with us; probably due to the chip & guacamole appetizer!! Our server was attentive and quite pleasant; he made the experience great! AND...There's more!! It was the owner's birthday and they shared the glorious Tres Leches with our table! Super lucious and flavorful. We look forward to returning and sampling more of the scrumptious offerings!!

This is our second time visiting this establishment since they changed management. Nearly six months later and the food is still TERRIFIC, the service is still EXCELLENT, and the menu prices remain very affordable.

They impressed me with tasty food, huge portions and friendly service. We were three and had Nachos as a starter to share which was very delicious and had enough portions for three hungry people. We also ordered tacos and burritos but were able to eat only half of the order because of the starter. I had a Margarita as a drink and it was also very good. I’m from NYC and prices were surprisingly low for me.

I have been here twice with my friends. We loved the atmosphere and the staff was so nice and kind to us. I also wanted to give a special shout-out to Josh the server. He was amazing and gave me and my friends the best service.

An amazing surprise !!!!! We couldn't decide where to eat - drove by Viva's and decided to go in. The last time I was here was many years ago. It has since closed and reopened under new management w/updated menu selections, etc. Well - I'm here to let you know that this place is WONDERFUL Josh the manager and Mariano our server could not have been any better. 5 star service!!!!! The food was DELICIOUS!!!!!!! We had a cactus salad, nachos and fajitas. Very fresh and many delicious tastes. 100% stop in and see these guys - you won't be disappointed!

First time coming here and I enjoyed the food. I had the chicken taco, steak taco and chorizo taco. I recommend coming during happy hour because the tacos are $2 during that time!

Open late, great service, great food, great drinks. Been to new haven twice; of the places we have eaten so far I would make sure to make my way back here on my next visit.

The bartender's attitude was horrid. I was very close to acting like someone I try not to be. She was rude and unnecessary. She insisted my guest leave her seat 4 ft away from her at the bar to then study her face and ID close. It was extreme and I promptly left before I snatched those dentures .... nevermind. We left asap & went to SOUL DE CUBA a block away. Great food & drinks.

The food was amazing. But the downside is a bitter waitress takes away from it. Everything with her is "I can't" whoever heard of such in a restaurant? My friend asked her to take some ice out of her glass and the waitress said, "I can't or I would have to charge you $1.00 extra for her drink." That makes no sense.

I use to go when it was under the last owners and it was okay cheap food and drinks. Let me just say Holy Cow the new owners have really turned this place into a bomb shell of a restaurant. The food was out of this world and the drinks are made perfect. Will definitely be coming here all the time

Incredible service, prices, and food. This is truly a hidden gem of New Haven. Tacos are very good, the carnitas are my favorite. Great spicy Margherita and assortment of tequila/mezcal cocktails. I bring friends and visiting family here and they all rave about it too. On top of that, happy hour is a blessing!

VivaZ is a neighborhood gem! The prices are great and the quality is better. The service is always 10/10. Highly recommend the carnitas, nachos, margaritas, flan and tres leches but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. It’s also an absolute vibe inside. You’re missing out if you haven’t been here!

One of my all-time favorite Mexican restaurants! I first went there in the 70s and it is still there same as always! Cool dark lighting and interesting decorations! Food fun and inexpensive!

From an someone who's addicted to Mexican food This place has fair price and very generous portion -- the quesadillas and salads (especially the crispy taco) are my favorite. Will revisit!

Absolutely delicious authentic Mexican cuisine! The fish tacos are divine, the Sopa de Tortilla has a deep smokey flavor that warms you up. The cocktail list is extensive- we had the Hibiscus Martini and the Passion Fruit Mojito- both highly recommend! Definitely will be back!!!
