They
do
airbnb
as
well
as
long
term
rental.
I
needed
a
place
for
long
term
rental
because
I
was
starting
a
new
job
in
Kingston.
Their
current
rate
is
95000
JMD
per
month,
inclusive
of
utilities
and
furniture
(no
microwave
nor
washing
machine,
washing
is
done
separately
at
a
cost
of
500JMD
per
load
-
one
machine
for
everyone.
There
is
no
dryer
and
space
is
limited
for
drying).
Also,
very
small
parking
space,
poor
internet
and
thin
walls.
In
addition
to
paying
the
rent,
you
are
required
to
give
passport
size
photographs,
letter
of
reference
and
pay
slips.
I
went
there
on
a
Wednesday
to
pay
one
monthâs
deposit
and
the
first
monthâs
rent
(190K).
The
price
was
ridiculous
but
I
was
desperate.
Being
that
this
is
a
large
sum
of
money,
I
called
prior
to
going
and
asked
if
I
could
pay
via
bank
transfer,
they
agreed.
I
got
there
and
made
the
transaction
in
front
of
the
owner
and
sent
the
receipt
to
her.
The
agreement
was
that
I
would
move
in
the
following
Sunday.
On
Thursday
I
called
and
asked
if
they
had
received
the
money,
they
said
no.
(the
transaction
should
have
been
done
in
24hrs
using
the
local
banking
system
ACH).
On
Friday
I
called
again
and
they
still
didnât
receive
the
money.
I
decided
to
call
my
bank.
My
bank
informed
me
that
they
will
open
a
case
to
investigate
why
the
money
hadnât
been
transferred
and
that
it
will
take
three
business
days
to
be
resolved.
I
called
back
and
informed
the
owner.
On
Sunday
when
I
went
there
to
move
in,
she
greeted
me
saying
that
she
wanted
to
tell
me
to
take
one
monthâs
rent
in
cash
because
she
doesnât
feel
comfortable
with
me
moving
in
and
she
hasnât
received
any
payment
has
yet.
I
told
her
that
I
understand
her
concern,
but
that
she
shouldnât
worry
because
the
money
is
between
our
banks
and
if
for
some
reason
it
doesnât
get
to
her
account,
I
will
be
the
one
at
risk
because
I
will
still
need
to
find
her
her
rent.
When
I
got
to
the
room,
there
was
an
horrific
stench.
The
previous
occupant
had
left
their
garbage
there
and
the
room
hadnât
been
cleaned
since.
In
addition
to
the
garbage
there
were
cockroaches
running
around,
used
towels
on
the
bathroom
floor
and
dirty
sheets
on
the
bed.
I
brought
it
to
the
ownerâs
attention,
she
briefly
apologised
for
the
garbage
and
said
that
âyou
see,
this
is
why
I
wanted
the
rent,
because
if
you
had
paid
it
this
wouldnât
have
happenedâ.
I
reiterated
that
the
rent
was
paid,
and
that
it
was
only
a
matter
of
time
before
she
receives
it.
She
then
stated
that
because
she
didnât
received
payment
she
doubted
that
I
would
move
in
so
she
didnât
bother
to
make
sure
the
room
was
cleaned.
We
spent
about
five
minutes
arguing
our
viewpoints
until
we
both
agreed
that
it
is
pointless
to
continue
arguing
and
we
should
just
move
on.
She
left
with
the
garbage
and
told
me
to
bring
her
the
used
sheets
when
I
changed
them.
About
ten
minutes
later
she
came
to
me
and
said
that
she
doesnât
want
me
to
move
in
because
sheâs
not
comfortable
with
the
whole
thing,
she
said
that
we
didnât
start
off
on
the
right
foot
and
that
this
would
only
lead
to
future
problems.
Imagine
being
told
this
at
7
pm
on
a
Sunday
evening
knowing
that
you
have
your
first
day
of
work
the
next
day.
I
got
my
stuff
and
left
without
knowing
where
I
would
spend
the
night.
The
money
was
lodged
into
her
account
the
following
Wednesday,
exactly
one
week
after
being
sent
from
my
account.
This
was
an
inconvenience,
but
it
was
out
of
my
control.
I
was
refunded
180k,
she
decided
to
take
10k
from
me
because
I
had
left
some
of
my
stuff
in
the
room
from
Wednesday
when
I
made
the
payment.
I
did
not
agree
to
this,
she
gave
me
the
180K
and
walked
away.
In
conclusion
the
place
is
okay
if
youâre
looking
for
a
rustic
environment
in
Kingstown,
and
donât
mind
being
too
close
in
proximity
to
other
tenants.
