😠 We reserved a private room days in advance. We are not from the area so we needed a place to stay over night. We called and confirmed that the room was reserved. Then we called again to make sure we still had a place to stay 2 days before check-in. On the day of check-in, we arrive and they tell us... People often mention room, stay,

We reserved a private room days in advance. We are not from the area so we needed a place to stay over night. We called and confirmed that the room was reserved. Then we called again to make sure we still had a place to stay 2 days before check-in. On the day of check-in, we arrive and they tell us that they have given away the room we reserved and they gave it away the day before and there are no more private rooms available so we need to find somewhere else to stay. They had our contact number and no one called to let us know so we wouldn't have wasted our time getting there to begin with. We're not from the area and we don't know anyone there which is why we made the reservation. We were obviously flummoxed so they offered us a shared room that looked like the smallest college dorm ever with 3bunk beds crammed in there. Very dusty room. Just standing in there gave me sniffles. Plus, we females were supposed to sleep there with some strange man. Needless to say, we did not take it. We would rather spend the rest of the evening calling and searching everywhere to find somewhere else. Thankfully we did. I'll always skip this joint. Being proactive and reserving your room is not a guarantee that you will have somewhere to stay here.

A private getaway with manicured lawns, picnic area, cafe, an exquisite menu and beautiful murals behind the bar. Nestled at the foot of the suburbian hills, this cozy hostel is our oasis, away from the hustle and bustle of the innercity. A grassroots hideaway in the middle of the city, a great place to meditate in the mornings, our hidden gem. Visitors simply keep returning.

Just returned from a 2 week stay at Backpackers hostel in Kingston, absolutely loved it there, was a perfect base for our holiday, perfect location, close to shops n bus routes into the centre of kingston and beyond. Zach is an amazing host, really helpful and extremely friendly n funny too!!!!!! Had some lovely evenings in the grounds chatting with him n within a few days felt we had known him for years, really felt like home there. Missing it already, highly recommended πŸ₯°

I enjoyed my time there so much. I loved the Long Story Short event and all the stories. The friendliness of everyone there was great and so welcoming. The Covid guidelines were followed and seating was adequately spaced. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

Super Chill, Super Awesome! Backpacker's Hostel is a quaint hostel in Kingston. About 15 minutes from Halfway Tree bus terminal, it is centrally located and easy to find. It is across the street from a plaza that has 2 supermarkets, a pharmacy, 2 ATMs and loads of restaurants. There are plenty of local eateries, fast food and restaurants as well as fruit stands. Backpacker's has its own restaurant and bar on-site in case laziness kicks in! The food is tasty and there's plenty of rum and Red Stripe! Prices at both are very cheap. The hostel itself only has 2 rooms. The bunk beds are super comfy and you will receive fresh linens and a towel. The dorms have multiple fans so they are always cool. There are 2 shared bathrooms that are extremely clean. The wifi is strong and free as well as the locker use. I spent my days exploring and evenings chilling in the garden and on the patio, smoking and sipping on local beer and rum. There were always really cool, frindly folks around to chat with. The staff is awesome! Zach is super friendly and helpful - he gave us great insider nightlife tips! If you're going to visit Kingston definitely stop by this relaxed, quaint and chill spot!

Nice place, simple and clean. Stuff is really helpfull. There is nice garden to hang out. During the evening party is going on, so if you go to bed around 21-22 its hard to fell asleap. If you like to party it's right place for you. Stuff can arrange affordable taxi. There are few stores near by and few fast foods. I stay just one night and it was ok.

Not much to do there. No pool and no restaurant like other reviews stated. Zach is very helpful and kind. Good for a night.
