I
wouldn't
recommend
this
hotel:
My
trip
to
Kingston
Jamaica
was
more
about
business
than
pleasure.
I
have
alway
stayed
at
Terra
Nova
Hotel
in
New
Kingston,
a
very
family
and
friendly
environment.
A
family
friend
suggested
Altamont
Court
Hotel
because
it
was
minutes
drive
from
the
business
office.
Upon
checking
in
I
was
amazed
at
the
security
system
with
the
iron
gates
and
many
iron
bars.
I
hesitated
to
check-in,
but
it
was
pretty
late
the
night
of
19/5/22
to
go
in
search
of
another
hotel.
I
have
never
been
incarcerated,
but
that
night
I
felt
like
I
was
checking
into
a
jail.
The
hotel
associate
transcends
poor
hospitality,
no
smile,
abrupt
response
and
lack
of
engagement.
Despite,
I
went
through
with
my
transaction
by
providing
my
credit
card
information,
collected
my
access
card
and
hurried
to
my
room.
Needless
to
say,
it
couldn't
have
gotten
any
worst,
that's
what
I
thought.
I
felt
thirsty
and
not
even
a
complimentary
bottle
of
water
made
available.
I
tried
calling
the
front
desk
only
to
discover
it
was
a
non
working
phone
in
the
room.
The
WiFi
was
not
available.
One
of
the
front
desk
personnel
informed
me
that
it
was
a
net
work
issue
(big
lie).
The
decor
in
the
room
outdated
and
tasteless.
Even
though
I
have
very
high
standards
not
just
in
life,
I
am
able
to
adapt
to
any
given
situation.
I
did
so
under
the
circumstances
presented
to
me.
I
further
extended
my
stay
for
two
main
reason
the
air
conditioner
was
superbly
excellent,
and
the
hot
water
for
shower
was
wonderful.
With
all
that,
a
few
guests
moved
in
a
day
later
and
the
noise
was
unbelievable.
What
tipped
the
scale
for
me,
after
placing
a
call
using
my
overseas
phone,
simply
to
inform
the
front
desk
about
my
extension
and
need
to
come
to
the
front
desk
to
up-to-date
credit
card
info
since
the
reservation
was
done
through
a
third
party.
The
OK
was
granted,
but
a
few
minutes
later
I
heard
banging
on
my
hotel
door.
When
asked,
"how
can
I
help
you?"
His
response,
"I
came
to
collect
payments
for
your
remaining
stay".
In
hand
he
had
his
card
machine.
I
politely
told
him
I
would
come
to
the
office
to
address
my
stay.
Unaware
he
was
still
standing
at
the
door,
I
closed
the
door
headed
for
the
shower,
there
went
the
nock!
Nock!
again.
By
then
I
realized
I
was
not
at
a
hotel,
it
was
more
poorly
managed
"
motel".
I
paid
for
the
extra
day
$150
US
dollars
using
my
credit,
since
it
was
10
minutes
before
check
out
time
at
11am.
I
requested
an
invoice
of
my
entire
stay,
initially
I
was
told
by
the
hotel
manager
that
she
couldn't
grant
me
such
receipt
since
I
booked
my
reservation
using
a
third
party.
Granted,
all
payments
were
given
to
them
using
my
credit
card.
Eventually,
they
gave
in
by
providing
me
my
statement
after
I
insisted.
It
was
learning
experience
for
me,
just
know
my
experience
may
not
be
an
experience
for
all.
Good
Luck!!?
It
was
an
adventure
