I have a love hate relationship with Gloria's, I love their food but hate their service and wait time. I waited 2 hours for food the last time I was there. But unfortunately I will be back as they have the best seafood in Jamaica.

Amazingly well prepared food however the service is a little slow but worth the wait.

The food is always delicious; however if you are very hungry you cannot visit Gloria's and expect to be served quickly. The waitress were just nonchalant not a care in the world for their customers. Hence my rating of 4stars. Fantastic view and atmosphere. Situated near the only shipping channel into the Kingston harbour makes Gloria's (by the Police station) even more an attractive eating place.

Great local restaurant. The fish is always fresh and prepared perfectly. The fish tea (soup) is also pretty good and a necessary distraction when waiting for the food to be prepared.

The meal was satisfying both to the eyes, and the pallet... the ambiance of the restaurant creates a feeling of secluded romantic time spent together, and for a native of Port Royal, this is very important. Not to mention the beautiful view of the harbour. With these three positive attributes, Gloria's makes a wonderful place for meals, whether for the family, or just a romantic night out for two. For great seafood at an extraordinary price, Gloria's is first choice.

I went to Gloria's by the sea last night and what an experience! We (a party of five) arrived at about 6-6:30 and were told that they didn't have any fish. So we drove to the one by the police station and man the line that was there! So we drove back and by the time we got back they had fish-thank God! We were seated upstairs by seven at a dirty table with bottles and dishes that were left there by the previous guests. Then we sat and waited AND waited for someone to come to clear the table and take our order and still no one came! I finally gave up and went downstairs to complain and a young lady came and took our orders AND clear the table. This was at 7. This was when the waiting began. After climbing the stairs up and down so many times I began to wonder if I was exercising, we were served at 10. The only thing that was hot was the fried plantains! Everything else was lukewarm at best. I thought the trauma would have ended there but no. When the bill arrived drinks, water and other things were placed on the bill that we didn't eat OR drink! We marched downstairs armed with this bill and our mouth filled with complaints. They screamed, not call, not shout, SCREAMED the young lady's name who had served us about 6 times before she finally came to "correct" the bill. GLORIA MUST BE SPINNING IN HER GRAVE! I am giving ONE star only because this cannot be posted unless I click on a star!

Went to Gloria's last night...it was bad! It was the WORST experience ever! Arrived at 7:00 pm didnt leave until 11:00 pm. From dirty tables that we had to ask to be cleaned 3 times before it was finally done; to poor service by staff (too much to detail); then incorrect billing after all this! Finally got our meal at 10:00 pm after having to go "in search" of it twice! I witnessed people leaving without being served, out of sheer frustration. Come on Gloria's...I have been dining here for over 15 years and its NEVER been like this...holiday or not! Think you guys have gotten COMPLACENT. Start with two simple steps...hire a trained MANAGER and TRAIN YOUR STAFF, everything else will fall into place.

The customer service is very poor. There is no one to greet you when you walked up and offer you a place to sit. When you are ready to order the servers/waiters don't come to you it's like you have to be chasing behind them especially if you are seated upstairs. Once your order has been taken due to the fact you had to beg them to take your order they wouldn't even offer you a cup of fish tea or even some drinks to keep your mouth wet until the food is prepared. After waiting for about an hour I went downstairs to check on the status of my order and the same person who had taken my order was in the kitchen rolling festivals...I thought kitchen staff was different from the serving staff😕. After seeing that I was turned off from the food so I left and my food still wasn't ready. GLORIA'S BY THE POLICE STATION YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS BIG TIME!!!👎👎👎👎👎

The whole island of Jamaica is a ghost town at the moment, because of all the lowdown and curfew set by the government. This seafood restaurant in Port Royal had really decent food. It was right by the ocean with the view of Kingston and blue mountain in the back ground. Once all the development in this area are done it surely will be a sight to see.

Now I am not giving this 3 stars because the food sucked.. The FOOD WAS AMAZING! This got three stars because we had to wait very very very long to be seated and then had to wait very very very very long to be served. If you are planning on going here making a reservation is a wise choice to make. It's a hit spot and so going there without proper planning will leave you frustrated and annoyed. We were very patient however, and wanted to try the food so we waited. The staff was polite and tried their best even though they seemed to be understaffed because there weren't many waiters/waitresses. When we finally got a table, we bypassed the long wait with hilarious conversations. Thankfully, my friends have a wonderful sense of humour and so the LONG wait flew by for us.. When we finally got our food it was amazing. The food was excellent. I tried the fish in coconut sauce and I went to heaven for a bit. I am not exaggerating. I give the food 10/10. I only wish that they would make decent and on time arrangements for persons who come by without a reservation. The evening was lovely apart from the wait. We also tried out oysters and they were really good! Port Royal is like a mini island all by itself.. Lovely vibes, lovely people. Would I go back? Of course! Reservations? DEFINITELY.. It is good for the family or any large group that wants to sit down and have dinner or lunch!

Generally the customer service is poor, however, the server was willing and helpful. The food was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the fish both fried and steamed. The plantains were perfectly done and the fries were hot. The fish tea was also great.

Minus the wait time for the food to be prepared and I guess because it's done to order, Gloria's is definitely a place to go when visiting Jamaica. They have a variety of seafood and other things. But the fish here is really tasty.

The service can be a bit slow but the food is beyond excellent. The upstairs has a beautiful 360 degree view and is bright and airy. I have visited many times and the portions of expertly prepared fish are very generous and the best fish have I have ever had in any restaurant anywhere and the flavours dance on your palate . Cold beer is reasonably priced and the the service very friendly.

I have had lunch here twice and have enjoyed the Jamaican meal and authentic service by young servers. The drinks include local tropical juices which are also nice. The setting seems deliberately relaxed for evening patrons. The location is central in a safe location with adequate parking.

This place is lovely. It overlooks the water. When you get there you have to go up the stairs and find a table you like. The service was friendly. The food does take longer to get to the table because its made to order. The portions are large, I think its worth the price.

Loved the fish tea (broth with pumpkin) to start. The sides were all good with festival and breadfruit being the best. Fish portions (whole fish) were big and very good. Curry conch was OK. Shrimp pasta and garlic shrimp were good. Service was OK and slow. The view on the roof was nice. Glad there were no cruise ships in so there werenot many people.

Beautiful, street-side, local and cultured culinary seafood experience in Port Royal, once dubbed the "Most Wicked City" in the world. Home of the Pirates historically, now a Kingston retreat for the seafood lovers. The food here is spectacular, at one of the most fabled diners in all of the Capital. Gloria's has been a staple for seafood lovers of the past. Friendly staff, mouthwatering and delightful food, wonderful customer service and late opening hours makes them simply irresistible. Check them out!

This is my second time going to this restaurant in a group setting. Both times the wait was almost 2 hours. The tables weren't cleaned before we sat and the waitress had an attitude. They ended up removing the service charge from the bill. My food was good (Pirates Catch- honey glazed shrimp & lobster) but the others complained about their food. Steam bammy looked like it was soaked in water.

One of the classic food destinations in Jamaica. A visit to Gloria's should be on your to do list, a great end to a day trip exploring Port Royal. The service is good, but because this is a hot spot sometimes the food can take a while. Order ahead or just relax and enjoy the sea view and a few drinks while you wait. There's plenty of options but one should definitely try the fish tea for an appetizer and escoveitch fish for the main dish at least once. Festival and bammy are great sides to have with your meal.

Best advice = come EARLY, or else prepare to walk with snacks in your bag for a 2 hr wait for food. I could never get thru to the phone lines to order in advance. With the exception of festival and bammy, other sides are quick to go. Food is okay (I prefer my fish itself seasoned and marinated). It's a good chill out spot in the evening time

Specializing in Jamaican seafood dishes, this restaurant is situated in the locally famous town of Port Royal, just outside of the bustling city of Kingston. Absolutely, horrible customer service! My friends and I visited their establishment and right off the bat we were waiting a very long time for our waitress to take our drink order, we literally had to go and look for her. After she took our food and drink orders, we noticed that other customers were popping up around us. Then all of a sudden their food was being served and this point our waitress is no where to be found. One hour later, we are still awaiting our food while everyone who came in after us was already eating 😕. My partner went downstairs to find out if they went to catch our fish or what! They told us it will be there in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later, still nothing! Like a neva beg wi did a beg nttn. You ppl need better customer service then the likkle lizard looking manager proceeded to argue with us on top of everything. It was an overall DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE!!.

The Seaview Gardens CDC Executive held their end of year luncheon on Friday Dec 21, 2018. We had a wonderful time. The food was sumptuous. There was even a live performance. Sorry I cant recall the young lady's name but she was amazing. Many thanks to the attentive staff who made our function memorable.

Great food! Great service! Usually a very busy restuarant but at this time midday very slow which was perfect for me to grab a quick lunch and go. If you are going in the evenings or on the weekends, order ahead. It saves you the wait. If you are going as a group or family call ahead and reserve a table. I wholeheartedly recommend!

BE PREPARED TO WAIT. This is the place to be when visit Port Royal. That said everyone and their children will be there on a Saturday afternoon. The overall quality of the food is good. They specialize in fish. Fried fish or steamed fish. That's about it. Do not go there and ask for American food. If it's busy, or the place is packed, be prepared to wait in excess of an hour from the time your ordered to receive your food.

Service great. Place spotless including bathroom. Food always done to perfection. Port Royal is a great place to visit, clean, quiet and full of history. Don't feel like driving take the bus and enjoy the scenic trip.

Curried lobster is out of this world. Worth my trip to Gloria's Port Royal, Jamaica.

This is an old favourite which seemed to have fixed the one thing I really hated about them...long wait time for food. We called an ordered our food in advance and got it in 35 minutes a far cry for the over an hour wait usually. As usual the food was delicious. It was boxing day so crowded but we still got good cistomer service. Definately will be back.

The preferred fish spot in town .but the wait and attention to the details of your order needs to be improved. We are still waiting on the fried bammies ordered and my sisters potato fries .

apart from waiting 3 hours to get a table for our group of 13 it was ok. the food is perfect so we forget our initial frustration. The long wait might be a 1 off situation has I've visited numerous times and had no problem getting seated

Surprisingly not such a long wait this time around. We were served our main dishes in under an hour of ordering. The soup was served borderline cold. Plus we weren't told it was broth, but that's what we got. No food, ground provision not fish to be found in the cups. At $200 per cup this could've been better. The main course was delectable, filling and worth every dime. The bar attendants needed a lot of help. They kept leaving to go off site for drinks. We waited 25 minutes for Malta. Another 10 for tropical rhythm. Apparently there's a second refrigerator upstairs.

Great food, horrible wait time. Didn't have enough servers to handle all tables and it resorted in them being stressed, and the kitchen was very SLOW to send out orders. My mother told me to never go anywhere hungry, but waiting two hours wasn't what she meant by that.

Which local doesn't know Gloria makes the best seafood, I went here twice in a week and had the curried shrimp which was amazing. Along with other family members the feedback was the size and taste was great. It's all done to order so on busy days it's a wait but worth it. Customer service is generally a sore point in Jamaica but about 80% I got a good server to the point where I tip so you know it's gd. It's only seafood though.

It's my absolute favourite place to go in Jamaica for dinner. On the terrace if you can't see the ocean at night you can smell it and hear it, it's tranquil and if course I go there for the food. As soon as i land in Kingston i high tail to to Port Royal to enjoy Lobster by the water. The best!

This is my second visit to Gloria's and it didn't disappoint either time. This has to be one of the best places to eat while in Jamaica 🇯🇲. Today I had the honey jerk lobster dish and it was seasoned very well, but, it's not for those who can't stand the heat. The service was even done by Ms. Gloria herself. She provided the best in customer service and quality of food. Will definitely return.

To my surprise, there are 2 Gloria's at Port Royal, this visit being to the one "on the right from the main approach road". What a difference, we sat upstairs overlooking the Police Station and Kingston Harbour. We were all pleased with our meal except for the un-salted fries. They could have done with more waiting staff because we seated ourselves from the limited options, the table needed wiping which was done after a couple minutes. The wait for food felt like a long wait, they were very busy. A request for salt on arrival of food did not materialize until the fries were stone cold and we were nearly finished. Overall, my steam fish was delicious!

The garlic jerk shrimp is a must try, shrimp fresh and all over the sauce and seasoning was perfect. The brown stew fish couldn’t be any better, plus the little piece of scotch bonnet pepper on the side was the perfect touch. Order some extra bammy or festival and some cold red strip and enjoy your quick get away from the hustle and bustle Kingston

It was early evening when we arrived at Gloria's Seafood Restaurant in the Port Royal harbour of Kingston, and we were hit by a busy hive of activity with over 100 people chatting, eating, drinking in a friendly social environment; ALL of whom were there for Gloria's famous seafood cuisine. There were approximately 80-100 people seated on the ground floor outside area and another 60-80 seated in the upstairs rooftop area of the restaurant, and hardly a seat spare; so, don't be surprised should you find yourselves waiting for a table. But it is well worth the wait. Set in modest old fashioned rustic décor the restaurant is authentic and staff are friendly but are hurried off their feet due to the high customer demand, so don't be offended by their occasional brashness as this is typical of Jamaican culture. They mean well. The menu has several seafood options and doesn't overwhelm with an overabundance of choice. Their prawn/shrimp and lobster dishes are the signature offerings, though stewed and curried fish are also an option. Finish your order with a side of rice, bammy, festival, fries, or plantain (they sadly run out of plantain on my visit). For your beverage I recommend one of the more traditional options such as Irish cream, Red Stripe, or a homemade rum punch. Overall, the experience was five stars. A fine example of classic Jamaican & Caribbean seafood cuisine. Flavours were rich and full, ingredients were fresh, and portions filling. I delved into garlic lobster whilst my fellow guests chose curried prawns and curried lobster, for which curried lobster would be my preferred choice, though do not turn your nose up at the other choices which were excellent. The sides of bammy (fried cassava flatbread) and festival (fried sweetened dough) were hot and freshly made, which is key to their flavour, interior texture, and crispy exterior. Being of full Jamaican heritage I am very familiar with Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine, and I must say a very well done to the chefs at Gloria's. Highly recommended, and a truly genuine Jamaica culinary experience.

The experience started out pretty good up until the waitress brought my drink order. The wait time for the meal was extremely long, I waited almost 2 hours for the meal after the waitress took my order. To make matters worse, when the meal finally came it was not seasoned properly and the fish was undercooked. When asked, the waitress who was not very friendly responded that there was only one chef on duty who was also responsible plating the meals. This was not conveyed to patrons at the point of placing orders so they could temper their expectations, many of which ended up leaving before their meals were ready. This was the worst experience I've had at Gloria's in the few times I've ate there.

Best fish and seafood experience in Kingston by far!!!. Sometimes the wait might be a little on the longer side but it's always worth it. "A hole in the wall" restaurant, so if you're looking for fine dining this is not the place, however if you want to experience fish and seafood Jamaican style this is definitely the place to be.

I went around 4pm, so it wasn't too crowded and the food arrived right away. It was very delicious! Customer service was also good.
