Nice historical part of the north west side of the island to explore in Lucea. I got to see it with someone who grew up in this area! Nice place to watch the waves and snap a few pics of the structures. They are tattered and not well maintained but for me that’s apart of the aging process. Not much to do here outside what I mentioned above. A good place to stop over for a few minutes to take it all in.

Great experience you need to go there you can't visit jamaica and not see it you can't live in Jamaica and don't travel and view your own island. This place is still intact for centuries man its like a blast to the past canons red brick walls and you on the edge of a huge cliff man it was fun and it's free to go have a look and explore. It's amazing where mankind is coming from lol. Check it out have some fun the water looks so great don't go in though lol

Fort Charlotte is the ruins of a fortress from the 18th century. The fort was named after Sophie Charlotte, Duchess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Unfortunately, you can't find out anything about the history of this fortification on site. The Hanover Museum has been closed for a long time. Overall, the facility is poorly maintained and appears neglected. You can discover them on your own and for free, but you should be careful where you step. The view over the small bay near Lucea is remarkable and that's why it's worth a detour to Fort Charlotte if you're nearby.

There's hardly anything to see but ruins and a few rusty cast iron cannons. I hope the government will give this site an overhaul or deserves.

It's a pretty cool place indeed! But it could use some upkeep. It's amazing how a few centuries can do to those huge cannons! We really liked walking around, and the water is beautiful!

Great spot to watch the birds, an old fort where you can still see old canons and walls. Would benefit to being cleaned and maintain. Would be a great place for historical visits. Free entrance.

The view and scenery is breathtaking. Pretty cool historic site but the grounds or premises could be better kept. There was a whole lot of overgrown areas and a few garbage tossed around.

Rented a driver to take us to Negril, Jamaica. On our way we stopped and seen the old remains of Fort Charlotte. Nice historical place to visit in Jamaica. The view of the water is very beautiful. Free to visit.

Beautiful location, but unfortunately, the fort is run down and full of trash. It's not worth coming hereunless you're driving by.

Interesting historical site with great views. You can find some old mid 18 century British cannons. History nerds will enjoy. However, the place is semi abandoned and not looked after.

In complete disarray. Filthy, poorly maintained, no point in going, which is a shame really.

This was a nice historical site to visit in Lucea. It's where they used to bring the slaves. This could be a quick tourist stop on the way to Negril, shame nobody keeps it up, great potential.

Amazing views and Prime photo and selfish ops...the only drawback is the lack of safety railings along the concrete walls.

A colonial fort, nestled on the edge of Lucea in Hanover. This historical fort has seen better days in terms of it's condition. We await it's rejuvenated and improved return.
