Definitely a place to hit when in the area. Go early unless you like crowds. Yes, it’s pricey, but worth it. I went around 430 on a Thursday. Perfect time. By the time I left around 630 there was a pretty good line forming. Couldn’t imagine this place on a Friday or weekend. Menu is pretty large. Do your research and be ready when you arrive. I picked up the lobster grilled cheese and bacon wrapped scallops. So good!! Highly recommended. If I’m back in the area I’m sure to return and try another couple menu options.

I had lobster grilled cheese. Bread toasted perfect. Lots of lobster. And steamers. Just a little gritty but good. Hubby had grilled chix salad. Dressing was never offered either at ordering or pickup. So he went and asked for it. Niece had lobster bisque. Large chucks if lobster in it. Prices about average for seafood. All tables outside next to a marina. Train tracks run next to location. The location is off beaten path and the road leading to place could use a little tlc. Not sure how parking would be on a busy day. Plenty today but only about 1/2 dozen tables used. Has covered area.

Went there on a hot day and the place is really cool, by the waterfront, nice place to go on a sunny day for some food. However, I was a bit disappointed with the food. The lobster roll, though loaded with lobster meat, was somewhat bland and had no butter in it, making it a bit too chewy and dry. The calamari was good but nothing spectacular, I’ve had better rolls and calamari in other places that are not even that close to the ocean. It was a bit of a shocker to me since there are so many good reviews here, so I hope I just went there on a bad day. The seafood is really fresh though and the icecream they serve next door is amazing. They accept credit cards and service was fast (it wasn’t a busy day though).

Was a reasonable place for lunch today. Food dud not wow anyone though lobster bisque put in a decent showing. Lots of tables and they were being cleaned periodically. Location of nice on the marina and the breeze was welcome. Unfortunately 1 of the 3 parties in our group received their food 10+ minutes after the other 2 orders despite ordering first. Not a deal breaker but being they were out of town guests it was not ideal. Parking was more than sufficient which was a good thing! We will be back again.

Any time I get back to CT and have the chance, I like to go to Captain Scott's. This year, there was only one chance. It is hard to beat their lobster roll though there are many other good options. Order the CT-style roll, hot, buttered on a toasted JJ Nissan bun. The clam chowder is a nice creamy consistency, but not too thick. While it probably could have used more clams, I will give them a pass as it was their last day before closing for the season. They also have a lobster pot Christmas-tree and while other local versions have gotten more hype, it is very cool to see one in a working harbor. New London Strong.

We have eaten here many times. The food is always good but things you must be aware of when you go there. When it gets busy, the parking is sketchy and hard to find a spot. On a hot sunny day there may be a 30 minute wait or longer in line to place your order. No shade and it gets hot. when you do get to the register, you’re met by a very friendly person who takes your order quickly, and your food comes out promptly. The prices of the food are slightly on the high side. The portion of my clam chowder was very small but delicious. The atmosphere is very unusual because on one side, you look at the Amtrak train, coming back-and-forth and the parking lot. On the other hand the other side of the restaurant overlooks the marina which is absolutely beautiful watching the boats come in and out. You can bring your own alcoholic beverages to drink under the pavilion if you wish. This is one of our favorite summer fun spots to come to. Just be prepared to wait in line.

Amazing seafood! Which I absolutely already expected! Loved the fact this place was right by the water granted it was slightly reminiscent of a back alley at first to get into the place it was a beautiful spot! Loved the fresh seafood, had some great options for the kids but wow do they know how to fry up some clam strips!! Amazing fish and chips, the red potatoes were delicious and perfectly cooked for me, loved the NE clam chowder and our son loved the chicken strips and fry basket. Overall beautiful experience!!! Will return (: quite pricey but you've gotta expect that when buying fresh seafood (:

It was SO good. Really fresh. Wasn’t greasy. My only issue was my grilled scallops were not cooked enough and everything needed a bit more seasoning. But the fried haddock was some of the best fish we’ve ever had. Staff is SUPER friendly and helpful. And you cannot beat the view. Highly recommend.

Excellent seafood experience with waterfront location and generous outdoor seating. The portions are large and the lobster perfectly cooked. We liked the coleslaw very much and the onion rings are outstanding. They also have a market and gift shop. Another great Connecticut Culinary Experience!

Had an impromptu dinner with my bride and enjoyed the Captain’s Platter. Loved the blackened Halibut and shrimp with fried oysters. The clam fritters were okay. Oysters were amazing. There was a problem with my wife’s order in which they gave her fried oysters instead of the breaded shrimp she ordered. They graciously and quickly corrected the issue and were super nice about it. I highly recommend this place and its food. We ate well and enjoyed the ambiance of the wharf.

Captain Scott’s lobster dock. This is one of the better authentic New England summer seafood spots. Been here a few times and always enjoyed it. You go up to the window you place your order. And they call your name when the food is ready. You pick it up at the second window and sit down in open air picnic style benches and tables. This visit. Got this captain combo on this visit. It was excellent as always. I always enjoy it with the red potatoes and got an extra set of sides today. The onion fries here are particularly good. Line The line moves quickly – some people get a bit crestfallen when they see the line but it moves really quickly. Parking The parking is a little bit more challenging. While they have plenty of parking during peak times it may be difficult to find a spot.

Take out for lunch on a Friday. Lobster Bisque, three or four good sized chunks of tail/claw, not shreds from legs, buttery flavor. Thick clam chowder; more clams than potatoes, good value, good flavor. Cold lobster salad roll, good amount of lobster, would have gone with hot if we were eating there. Whole bely clams were lightly breaded, plump. Super fast service. Nice to have ice cream at the same counter.

This is a little hidden gem. I ordered the Lobster Roll that was packed with lobster! I seasoned it myself with a lil bit of old bay and old bay hot sauce from the condiments bar and squeezed on the provided lemon and butter and it was perfect. The lobster was so tasty you probably could've done with out the condiments. My mom had the shrimp and fries and it was also delicious! This place sits on the water with lots of outdoor seating so you can watch the boats pass by. The line is usually long but I got there around 11:20AM and luckily just beat the line. If you're in the area I recommend giving it a shot!

The line seemed intimidating at first but I waited less than 10 minutes to order with approximately 20ish people in front of me, and another 5 minutes for the food. The food was very delicious, even the coleslaw was done perfect. I would definitely visit again.

My best gal friend suggested we stop in here for dinner after a long day in Misquamicut. I'm so glad we did! It really reminds me of my favorite seafood spot in Narragansett. The line is really long, but it moves quickly. Once you order your food, you find a seat & they will call your name out (about 5-10 minute wait). The pricing is so affordable. Love to watch the boats coming in & out of the dock. I over ordered, but ate every bite! Love seafood. Definitely stop in, even if you aren't in the area.

Love the concept of this place. Fresh seafood. Staff are very friendly and there is lots of seating. Expect a line to order and waiting for your food. The lobster roll was a little to buttery for me.

My wife said it was the best lobster roll she ever had. She liked the scallops too. Lightly breaded. The line went pretty fast. Worth the wait! Luckily for those of us who don't eat seafood there are some good choices too. The cheeseburger was great and affordable. The chicken fingers I didn't care for as much. Fries were great.

This place is a hidden gem. Cute atmosphere and adorable outdoor seating. Has a condiments bar, so you add what you like. Fast and friendly service as well. Only bad is the seagulls aka beach chickens. They need to use more protection against them. One flew up and landed on the table and then gave me a face like "what chu got there?" Other than that, amazing place!! Highly recommended

My mother in law took us here because it's one of her favorite places for a fish sandwich. It was Wednesday during lunchtime in September and it was fairly crowded. The staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly. There is no inside seating as this is strictly an outdoor eatery. They do have a roof over some of the tables though in case of rain. My clam strip roll was overflowing with clams and it was served with a lemon slice, tarter sauce and a bag of chips or Cole slaw. My husband's steamers and clam chowder were delicious as well. A very pleasant place to watch the boats (and the train) and have some good seafood.

We got the cold lobster roll and grilled chicken sandwich. The lobster was supposedly great. The chicken sandwich was good but definitely not award winning. There was a very long line at the counter to get food because they are known for great seafood. Seating is outside only.

One of the great spots to enjoy the lobster on a nice deck. I love the overall vibe over there during summer. Their hot lobster roll with butter is worth trying. Also, you can BYOB is definitely plus.

Made our first visit this summer. The wait to order was an hour, but that didn't bother me. If anyone has been here before, they understand it comes with a wait. The only disappointment to share is that there was uncooked batter on my clam strips. It was a bit gross, and obviously I couldn't eat it and moved on. The steamers were just ok. They seems very poor quality and had "issues" with several in our order. Overall, it was still a good dinner

We stopped here on the way back from hiking, suddenly craving fish. We had the fish and chips, fried shrimp, lobster roll, New England clam chowder, fried calamari, and onion rings. Let's just say it was a feast!! I've never had lobster rolls before and always wanted to try one. It comes with butter and lemon on a brioche bread slice and it was great! The fried calamari was good as well. The onion rings were a bit more doughy than expected, but still had great taste. As for the fish and chips, the cod was good and fresh. The clam chowder was great, but had a lot more pieces of potato in it, but that's okaay! I still really recommend stopping by and eating some fresh fish!
