Cute little village to wander through. Some good food options. The places we did go into were more expensive than they should be for the food they were serving. Kind of felt like carnival pricing. We didn't get to each everywhere, but overall, it was find for a quick stop, but I wouldn't allocate a huge amount of time here. But definitely a cute little "village"

STAY AWAY! I can't believe how commercialized this village is. It's only the shell of a heritage village with overpriced tourist shops and food joints. This village is most definitely ****NOT*** the best place to eat! We went around 4pm and most food places had closed (it appeared as though some just didn't have the staff to be there?) So we ate at one of the only places open - Moo Moo BBQ and my husband got food poisoning from the turkey choice he ordered :( My beef order was definitely not great and I'm really surprised b/c of the reviews we had read previously about this place! Can I say that my heart is broken by the fact that all of the historical buildings are converted into a fake *gimicky tourist spot. The old church is converted into a restaurant (gasp) and other than plaques about the buildings and a few Anne memorabilia (yes her Raspberry Cordial).. nothing represented the era and the time it was created for here. I feel this village was very distastefully re-done. While the buildings are beautiful on the outside - I came imagining something quite different :(. Sadly this village also seemed really mismanaged and understaffed. I know covid has done a lot but if they don't recreate the traditional authentic Avonlea feel, I fear all is lost. Please rename this place PEI Funtown instead of ruining the Avonlea heritiage of this village. I am shocked as to how the Government of PEI let this happen?! I'd give this 0 stars if I could. If they had movie re-enactments, stories of the old village's history and giving true authentic purposes for each of the buildings it would have been much more rewarding. The only great thing about this trip was buying some overpriced raspberry cordial.

A shell of its original purpose to show people in period costume and life in the past. It was a great educational experience for the family including the pony rides, pig races, 1 room school house experiences, horse drawn carriages. A burger joint in a beautiful old church building that was meant to be restored to its former glory now that is so sad. With how fast life is now, this was one place where children could get a realistic perspective of how life used to be and not the insanity of today. The vision is lost

A fun "touristy" place to have lunch. We ate at the Turkey Tavern and of course had Cows ice cream for dessert. Would definitely eat here again when visiting the Green Gables area.

From what I understand the village buildings are representation of the "Anne of Green Gables" story. The village is small mostly made up of some gift shops and places to eat at. Cows ice cream is very delicious. Boom burger with the works is very messy but also very good. The fries are made with PEI potatoes. There is no cost to enter the village. The village has no washrooms in any of the buildings that were found or places to wash your hands except in the 1 washroom building behind the stores in the corner of the lot. I understand the need to clean the washrooms but when the ladies are waiting for 30 min while the guy cleaning it had the doors locked and it's the only washroom. Maybe add a few buildings that look like a shop in the time period or some attractions other than a place to eat. Maybe a horse and buggy tour of the property. Maybe a saloon that looks and feels the time period.

Okay. Smaller than we thought. Not what we expected. Free parking and free admittance. Nice buildings and well maintained grounds, but it's just all commercial tourist up selling. Restaurants, candy store, ice cream, souvenir shop.

This place is a bit of a misleading tourist trap. There is not much to do here other than grab a bite to eat. Every building is a restaurant or a boring gift shop. The buildings are charming but whatever charm they have is lost with them all being businesses which essentially reduce "Avonlea Village" to a strip mall. Not much information on the historical signs either which are in disrepair. Overall, a let down. If you are expecting something charming or animated, this isnt it. The Anne of Green Gables Heritage site down the road is much more interesting and worthwhile.

Beautiful little village. The Pubs were open and a Gift shop. Coming back to Cavendish next summer before Labour day next year. I didn't realize alot of shops close after the Labour day holiday in Cavendish. But this little village will be at the top of my list of must see/visit for sure.

We ate at the turkey tavern. What a great gem they have there. Super wonderful staff and an owner with such a positive attitude. Rene was one of the best servers we have ever has. Took care of us from start to finish. Food was fantastic and the Biscuits stole the show. We will be back.

This is truly the best place to eat in Cavendish. There is a good variety of different places, for all tastes, and the number keeps growing. Samuels is definitely the best for breakfast. Cows ice cream place is a must have. Boom burger, pizza places, new turkey dinner place, Italian restaurant - even our picky daughter can find something she likes there. And all that with a cozy spirit of lovely PEI places. Great staff everywhere, very clean and tasty. Recommended

Great little spot for lunch. Lots of different options and picnic tables in between so everyone can eat what they want.

A very nice cute nostalgic spot that you just have to see if you go go to PEI. Plenty of free parking and space to move around. Restaurants for every taste. Even a goldfish pond that kids loved! Tour buses can come through, so be warned. Your experience may differ from ours, as there were only 2 busses in the parking lot.

I don't know what I was expecting this place to be before I arrived but it definitely wasn't what I encountered. It is nothing more than a few old-timey-looking buildings transformed into kitchy gift shops, bad restaurants and an ice cream parlour. It's a tourist trap extraordinaire! There is nothing historic or even quaint about this place - it's just a big cash grab. If you're a fan of Anne of Green Gables or Road to Avonlea, the only thing "Avonlea" about this place is the sign. Avoid!

Its was ok. There was very little to do other than eat here. The one deco store was closed and everthing else was food, chocolate and souvenirs. There is no entry fee. Cows ice cream is the best❀

Beautiful hidden gem in Cavendish! We ate here everynight and tried Piatto Pizza, BOOMburger, Moo Moo BBQ grilled cheese cheesery, and Dave's Lobster. I recommend all these places. Not one meal disappointed adults or children!

It's a beautiful little village with some old buildings mixed with new. It has a number of shops and restaurants including cows Creamery. If you're in the area checking out the other Anne of Green Gables stuff definitely stop by here and check it out.

Beautiful place to visit for some photo ops but not too much to do if you’re not eating at one of the restaurants. Was in and out in about 15 minutes.

Beautiful place to walk around and see beautiful gardens and reproductions of homes from years ago. Many restaurants to try. Nice gift shop and if course Cows ice cream 🍦 I would go back again.

A cool place to visit if you are looking to eat. Several great places to get food. A couple artisan shops and a Main gift shop. No clothing!! I was so disappointed that I couldn't get Anne of Green Gables clothing. No sweatshirts, and no adult t-shirts with anything Green Gables or Avonlea on them!! A major disappointment. Ice cream on site was good. Nice staff. Clean bathrooms and plenty of parking. Easy to access. A cool place, you probably won't spend a lot of tie here though unless you are eating food.
