Fantastic!! If you love old home, learning about history, and/or if you love Anne of Green Gables then this is the place for you. The museum walk through was really cool to see the different things that inspired the author who wrote Anne of Green Gables, and the different places in the house as described in the books. Such a cool experience. I loved reading about Lucy's (the authors) life and how she came up with her ideas. Walking around the grounds was cool too! Seeing the real "lake of shinning waters" was well worth it! There is also a good craft store and gift shop on site. Plenty of parking. Easy access.

Nothing more than an over commercialized tourist trap. I have waited decades to see the home of LMM, to visit this historic part of Canadiana, not only was I underwhelmed, I was seriously disappointed with how the institution has become more about selling items than about respecting the significance of these great stories. Spend $18 Canadian for two people to go inside a house that has many rooms blocked off so you cannot go in to see and take pictures of the items behind doors, the entire visit house was maybe thirty minutes. The intro to the house was very short and basic information provided by someone who may know the history but was merely doing a job by the book. Speaking of which there is not only a store to purchase touristy things right inside the house, there is also an entire building dedicated to taking more of your money so you can own more stuff that may end up on a garage sale one day. There is also a food court kind of place in the separate building . As I said, it is over-commercialized and for that reason the enjoyment I thought I would have was noticeably ruined for me. Whatever this place once may have been, is long gone. Go if you must, but I would have rather spent my money on a lobster roll somewhere on the island than waste it on visiting Anne of Green products.

As a fan of Anne of Green Gables, I was very excited to visit the museum. I don't know what I was expecting...but it didn't fill the excitement and anticipation I had while driving through three provinces and one US state to get there...only to be in and out in a half hour. Even the souvenirs were disappointing. Unless you hadn't read any of Lucy Maud Montgomery's books...then they had every book available for purchase. The best part was the woman who greeted us and gave us a brief history/description of the rooms we were about to view...she was from Hiroshima, Japan and now currently resides in PEI. That to me, was awesome!! She was very knowledgeable and friendly...she was my highlight of the museum.

Such a lovely place! If you, like I, love to go to historic homes to see how things looked/were done, and you love Anne Shirley, I recommend checking this one out. A great exhibit, plenty of authenticity, and a nice gift shop. We wanted to do the carriage ride, but it was canceled due to high winds. So, we'll definitely put that on our to-do list next time we're on PEI.

I recently visited this place and it was a beautiful and calm house. We could feel the smell of old books around the house. There're gift shops inside and outside , if you wish to purchase any books or souvenirs. A ticket was 8$ /person

Well my wife wanted (even threatened me harm if I didnโ€™t) to go and we did. Iโ€™m unfamiliar with the history but she absolutely loved it. Watching her in awe and joy made me happy to oblige. I really enjoyed the nature walks and admiring the heritage that is contained. A gift shop and food on premises makes it a great outing. Washrooms on site as well. Plenty of park and friendly staff. Glad to have hopped on in and learned about the history of this iconic book/series.

Beautiful place. Soend more time there, if possible. Lovely walks, actresses (Anne and Diana). Informative display. Great gift shop. Modest drinks and snacks available. Take time to explore nearby Cavendish.

Very nice walkable property to explore. $9 for adults to tour the house. Gift shop had some neat items. Not sure why tea room was closed. Enjoyed learning about LM Montgomery's life.

More things to see and enjoy at the Anne of Green Gables heritage centre at a cheaper rate. Paid more for less at this place. I was disappointed. I was expecting more especially since they call it a museum. It's misleading. The history is nice but I could have easily skipped it.

To be clear, this was her Aunt and Uncleโ€™s house. The author did get married here and spent some time as she was growing up. Itโ€™s an idyllic little pastoral location and I credit the family for cashing in on this opportunity. That being said, if you want the โ€œofficial,โ€ Canadian government location, itโ€™s a few miles east down the road. While we donโ€™t regret going here, $9 is a lot in any currency.

My friend and I booked an Anne of Green Gables trip through the Villa we are staying at. It came with tickets to the museum and we paid extra for a Matthew carriage ride. There was some mix up that was not the fault of the museum and no one knew we were coming. One of the Campbells herself made sure we were taken care of. Brought us Raspberry Cordial she made herself, got us on our carriage ride and showed us such kindness. We thoroughly enjoyed the history of the location. The carriage ride with โ€œMatthewโ€ was beautiful and enjoyable. We had great conversation with both โ€œMatthewโ€ and Mrs Campbell. Completely suggest this museum for any LM Montgomery or Anne of Green Gables fans.

I really enjoyed my visit. They staff was very informative and super friendly. The museum was very interesting and had many items to view from the author and family getting a glimpse of how they lived. It was a treat to meet the cousin of L.M. Montgomery who was customizing the purchased books from the lovely gift shop. Prices are very fair to step back in time and see L.M. Montgomery's home and where Anne of Green Gables was born.

We stopped to see this and got a few mementos. Nice gift shop, museum was ok, and the Liv's Whispering Lane was very short and led to the field behind the gift shop where we had parked. We enjoyed walking around the property to see the barn and horses in the field. We didn't take the carriage ride to the beach since we were planning to visit Thunder Cove Beach just up the road.

The family wanted to see this so we stopped. Rainy day so the tour was basically the old house. Very clean, staff are real nice. Very knowledgable. There were quite a few people, so space gets tight pretty fast. Overall nice no pressure visit. Would recomend for fans of the books.

I'd been here on a cruise excursion in July 2010, and have wanted to return ever since having my daughters. We didn't opt for the ride with Matthew around the pond, as the price was exorbitant. But the home is lovely and has so many great LM Montgomery artifacts! The gift shop has anything you could want as an "Anne" memento.

1 of my best discovery. Because i have watched the serie and read about it, then i was so excited to live the experience and imagine myself at this era of time. To see how they were living and what they used or how they used items. How they dress up. The village is so small but to walk distance is far.

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by this museum. They had a ton of interesting artifacts and being in the room where LMM was married was a bit of a thrill for this fan. I LOVED that they allow self-guided tours, because I like to take my time and linger over every display. My only disappointment here was the carriage ride. It wasn't by horse, it was by tractor....which, you know, they clearly didn't have big John Deere's in "Anne's time"...so it took you a bit out of the story/time period. I'm about authenticity :) But, all in all, I enjoyed it.
