I called to request a cancellation less than 24 hours after booking. I knew that the deposit was non refundable but I was truly hoping that they could make an exception considering the reason for my need to cancel. They would not give me a refund and the manager was actually rude and unwilling to even cooperate or be professional. I would understand if it was a small deposit but it was almost $400. After reading other reviews in this specimen of a property, I can see why they are almost always vacant. They truly need to get with the times and focus on customer service and from what I gather in the reviews, the cleanliness and upkeep of the place. Get it together Anne Shirley. BEWARE POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS. DO NOT GO HERE.!!! AWFUL SERVICE

Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY! I really wish we had read the reviews before booking. This place is an absolute dump. The rooms were infested with earwigs and other bugs, we could hardly sleep. The AC didn’t work, pool was in disrepair with nails sticking out of the deck. Musty smell in the room and very dirty. I’d honestly prefer a tent to this. To top it off, the rooms were some of the most expensive around.

The rooms are dated, but you get what you pay for. There was really no service, we prepaid so we walked in and they gave us a key and we walked out. The wifi password posted on the wall in the room was incorrect, fortunately, I was able to find it online. Our room phone kept ringing every couple of minutes but other than once, when answered there was nobody on the line. The one time there was someone on the line, the person was inquiring about room vacancy, not sure how that happened.

Stayed here last week, place was gross and falling apart literally. The smell of the "cleaners" more then likely bug spray hits you in the face and makes it hard to breathe. During our 4 nights stay here i got pink eye. I would not stay here again I'd rather sleep in my car. The only good thing about this place is the location. Even the office smells of mold. RUN AWAY! BOOK ELSEWHERE!

If I could give this dive less then one star I most definitely would. We stayed here for CBMF cause it was close. Only good thing about this hotel. The AC leaked, the room was filthy and the linens were beyond disgusting. We ended up checking out early due to waking up through the night to bugs in the bed. The room was full of ants & other random critters. I have sent numerous emails trying to contact management without luck. If it wasn't bad enough, they charged $700 a night to stay in the dive. They don't even have the decency to return a phone call or an email. The place is disgusting!! These pictures are of " clean" face towels!!!

We stayed at the hotel in Room 27 July 18-19 and unfortunately I can only give 1 star, gave five stars for location only. The room was super hot and stuffy. Turned on the ac but it leaked everywhere, took three bath towels to soak it up. There were at least three different kinds of bugs in our room, none were bed bugs thank god. No coffee pot, which really sucks. Ya Tim’s is next door, but the restaurant doesn’t open until 8, so you have to use the drive thru if you wake before then. I would not recommend this place, don’t fall for the name like I did. There are plenty of other places to book, or only a short drive back to Charlottetown.

Rooms are clean, no kettle or coffee maker as advertised unfortunately. They have a microwave which helped a lot!

Stayed 3 nights with my wife and kids. It’s a place to rest your head at best. Keep expectations low, even at $200+ a night it’s a dive. Zero upgrades since the place was built in early 70’s. It’s gross. Shocked PEI tourism allows this place to operate under such deplorable conditions in Cavendish. Outdoor pool is something to see. Watch out for rusty nails on pool deck. The location is awesome*** It’s a shame. This is a mice invested dump. Book early next time, so you’re not left with this as an option. Hate to be this guy with such a negative review, but it was hard to sleep here.

There are much better cottages in cavendish area than this place and they are less expensive , no internet and they lady at the reception tried to convince me that it is the problem with the provider but they have full bar at thier office and zero bar in our cottage witch is only 5 meters away from the office,I saw guests standing near thier office just to be connected to the internet. old and not very well maintained, moldy smell....not recommended..... if you are reading this comment it is better to find another accommodation.

Absolutely awful place to stay and terrible service. First, I’d like to say that I’ve stayed there in the past so me writing a review about my experience this time is saying something. When we arrived in our room there was absolutely no wifi, and when we called to ask about it the lady working said she would reset it, but we never heard back and it never worked during our entire stay. The air conditioner in the bedroom is above the bathroom vanity sink and the remote didn’t work so I had to pull a chair over to turn it on and off. Not to mention that the air conditioner didn’t cool off the room. The hot tub was cold and dirty and the pool was gross. They replaced the towels each day but didn’t bother to make the bed or change the garbages or even leave us more toilet paper. We found a few bugs in our room that we had to kill as well. We also had gotten some lobster and and went to melt some butter on the bbq and both bbqs were not working; we then proceeded to go inside and ask the lady at the front desk if she had something to melt it with and she acted as if it were a bother and was not pleasant to deal with. Would never stay here again 0/10!!!!

Pile of house flies in our hotel room, couldn't even eat in the room, called the front desk and buddy tells me it's no big deal they have flies in the front test area as well .just because he's use to living or working in disgusting conditions doesn't mean everyone else is.Pool and hottub was the exact same ,I asked if it was cleaned daily or at all and they couldn't give me an answer.

Very clean rooms, comy beds and pillows, smells fresh, and lots of windows. Only minor thing was the screens looked worn out at the bottom, letting a few flys in. The clock I set in the afternoon seems to have its own mind! Wandered to 5am when it was 2 am.

The anne shirley was a passible motel, but there was some interesting quirks. When we got to our room the room was clean there was lots of towels and wash cloths, however the room smelled weird, and the bedspreads, and curtains looked slightly tacky and outdated. The next day after housekeeping was done cleaning our room we went into our room and discoverd that they hadn't botherd to sweep our floor nor did they bother to sweep our floor all the days we were there. throughout our stay we also discovered a ton of ear wigs so I think that there might be a moisture problem. Also the wifi doesn't work. The anne shirley did have it's upsides though the pool was nice and clean the location was fabulous because it has access to all the amenities in cavendish. Overall, if your looking for a place that has a great location and you don't plan on spending endless hours there this motel would work.

The room was very old and had a moldy smell , there were also lots of holes in the walls and it looked very ghetto. The pool was so cold it was colder then the Arctic Ocean. The hot tub was not very hot and there was lots of dirt around it. On the pool deck the wood was so old it was falling apart. The nails were falling out and it was so different then the picture. It’s close to cavendish beach so that was the only thing good.

We stayed here a couple weeks ago. The whole place is in rough shape including the pool and the hot tub. The property and service was better with the previous owner. There are bugs, a musty smell, its dated, very poor service, we were unable to contact management. It's too expensive and the only good thing is the location. You're better off in a tent.

Stayed here Aug 19-24, we just left today. The best thing is the location. The tap leaked once we had to pry the taps on. The faucet just ran the 5 days. The ac didn’t work, the room was hot. The floor strips kept coming up and we had to keep putting them back in place. The bathroom light worked when it wanted to, the outside light didn’t work. The dresser looked like its legs were taken off so it was sitting on the floor with the tv on it. You couldn’t see the tv unless you stood up. The wifi didn’t work, and there were some weird looking bugs around the room. The pool was so dirty, the hot tub was cold and looked like grey water. The pool deck was so rotted, you walk and it was a tripping hazard or possible your foot was going to go through. The place is very dated. The wall paper was bubbled out. We paid $150 a night, I wouldn’t have paid over $60 for it. We got it last minute so I was happy to have a place to stay. But it was not very enjoyable. The owner really needs to fix this place up. The cleaning staff were very nice and came by everyday and cleaned our room and emptied our garbage and gave us clean towels. Definitely not worth the $700 though.
