A must go for NOLA-this is the oldest bar in New Orleans. It has so much character with the ceramic beer mugs hanging from the ceiling, the 2 piano room for duels, the history of it-it was formerly an estate. The ladies room is like a club up the spiral staircase with 30s design-the original power room, beautiful tile, couches. This place is huge and an easy place to make friends. The courtyard is stunning at both day and night-we went twice we love it so much. The champagne fountain that lights up and has flames. The bartenders are so nice and funny. The hurricane-classic is delicious. Will definitely be back every time I visit.

, No visit to New Orleans is complete, without a visit to this famous drinking establishment establishment. It is the home of the hurricane the New Orleans cocktail that is most famous, the garden area with the flaming fountain is wonderful to sit in, cold weather they have Heaters on that keeps it nice and warm even outside outside. And the piano bar is a lot of fun to watch the show that goes on

Pat O’Brien’s is an absolutely fabulous, quintessential French Quarter spot EXCEPT for two things that I feel management seems to allow to go on. First, when you buy a hurricane the price of the souvenir glass is included. You can take the glass home or return it for around $3.50 per glass credit. Not everyone knows this. A few servers do not inform guests and cash in the glasses themselves. I also experienced a scam in the piano bar. The server came up as I was leaving and claimed I had not paid. They always collect when they drop off drinks. Keep track! I told the server exactly how much and the tip and I was a local and she apologized and immediately backed off. Such a shame because this is otherwise a fun and great place. There are three bars here. The main bar is great and straight forward. Drink prices are slightly lower here. Next is the piano bar, slightly more expensive drinks but great entertainment. Next is the patio bar, with the fountain. Fun and nice ambiance. Finally there is also a restaurant, which is another separate entity. This is for grabbing a bite and people under 21 years of age are welcome. All are fun, it’s just a shame management doesn’t monitor a few bad apples that take advantage. Otherwise I would have rated five stars easily.

Big popular pub. Beautiful outdoor courtyard seating by a water fountain. Stunning old building. Great staff, easy to find in green jackets. One problem (loss of star): too much plastic / disposable goods. Every cup, straw... It's a pub! I feel there should be proper glassware, as the entrance / exit makes it easy to monitor anyone who would try to take a glass.

Must stop tourist spot for their famous hurricanes. Not sure why the policy changed but they used to let you keep the cool looking glass cups as a souvenir. Now you have to buy them at the gift shop. The patio is nice and spacious to hang out while sipping on said hurricanes. Staff was very nice and sat us right away. Pro-tip: if you're out in the patio, you pay right after you get your drink so be prepared for that.

Everyone treated us really well, drinks were amazing and the vibe is super nice (you can decide where to side - piano bar and sing, chill bar, or patio)

Crazy lively spot for a drink. They have a fire, water fountain out back!! Plenty of people there. I ordered the famous, The Hurricane drink, which tasted like spiked fruit punch. I like sweet drinks so I finished it all. The interior is dark but the outdoor back area is lit up.

Great live music and Hurricane drink! We had fun at the courtyard. They say that have the “world famous” Hurricane! They are not wrong! I’ve had couple of Hurricanes during my trip! And by far, this is the best.

I came here to try the famous Hurricane. It did not disappoint. I didn’t get a chance to go inside but we did sit in the courtyard. I had a great view of that fountain with fire. Ambience was very upbeat and lively. A lot of people are having a good time. We didn’t have to wait long to get seats. The Hurricane drink has rum, passion fruit juice, orange juice, lime juice, etc. You’ll find a cherry and orange slice on top. The taste is wonderful. You got tartness from the citrus fruits and a sufficient amount of rum. It’s a good drink for sipping and people watching.

It's new orleans, you have to stop in. Very nice Courtyard seating if you just want to enjoy a drink, the piano bar is a lot of fun. They have food, but we did not eat.

We had a lovely time, as always. Two hurricanes to wreck us before going for dinner. Courtyard is warm and inviting, drinks are heavy, atmosphere is abuzz. Great time sitting by the fountain. Will definitely return next time we visit.

Massive backyard patio with plenty of seating. This old bar is known for its Irish decor and legendary hurricanes. They are a bit sweet, but definitely give one a try when you go.

Home of the hurricane! The servers were so fast and friendly. The patio is a nice escape from the rest of Bourbon Street. Didn't get to try food but definitely look forward to it in the future. Also, many bathrooms upstairs!

On this night, the weather was perfect. The waiter Albert was very prompt and on point. He had a pleasant attitude and kept our table clean. The atmosphere and ambiance were so pretty. First time here, and I will definitely come back

We only tried the hurricane but it was delicious and strong! Hubby couldn't finish his so I did and he had to help me back down the road. I may be a lightweight but a little over 1 was all I needed! Service was fantastic. Friendly, prompt and attentive without hovering. Plus the atmosphere was fun and cozy and the heaters and fans ensured the perfect temperature #kpcsupportssmallbusiness

We always enjoy stopping at Pat O’Brien’s when we’re in New Orleans. This French Quarter staple, known for inventing the hurricane cocktail, makes an awesome variety of local and tropical drinks, besides having a full restaurant attached to the bar areas and patio. The drink prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly and polite.

Legendary bar in the French Quarter. It is a great hangout for perhaps an older crowd. It isn’t rowdy and the drinks are strong. We were in the piano bar and enjoyed ourselves with good music and drinks. Pat O’Brien’s is known for their “Hurricane”. If this is your first trip to NOLA I recommend getting a Hurricane.

We stumbled into Pat O’Brien’s looking for food after a long day of Conferences. They were able to seat us quickly and brought us ice cold waters right away. Their menu is small and mostly ready made, so it’s a great place to go if you’re in need of something quick and authentic. I had the jambalaya and it was very balanced and filling. Another person in our group had the bread pudding and it looked delicious! I also tried their famous Hurricane drink. I appreciate its historical significance and was glad I was able to try it from the source. It is best described as Hi-C Fruit Punch with Bacardi Rum. Not as sweet as it looks and very refreshing on a hot night.

Truly a New Orleans classic. Be careful with the hurricanes or they'll show up later. The bars were pretty quick with service and the dual pianos are great. It is tough to get a seat though. Don't expect to show up with a large group and find seating.

Pat O'Brien's was our first stop after arriving in New Orleans to celebrate our Bride-to-be! We enjoyed the beautiful weather in the courtyard and sipped their famous Hurricane.. so tasty! We easily spent a few hours chatting, sipping drinks, and enjoying the place! All bartenders and waitstaff were incredibly friendly and great with suggesting drink choices. The overall feel of the place is laid-back and easy-going (such a nice vibe). And the building is just beautiful (inside and out)! Highly recommend stopping in here!

As a local, this is one of the few bars that I regularly attend in the city. First, the history there is just incredible. Second, you get to see extremely talented pianists play their heart out. Pro tip, if you make a request you should tip your pianist. Don’t go there just expecting a quick bar hop. Go and stay for two hours. Really soak it in and enjoy the music. You can’t go wrong with a visit here.

Best hurricanes in town! That's their "thing" but they've also got a relaxing outdoor patio, highlighted by a flaming fountain. Yes, the fountain is on fire. There's also a tavern room and a separate performance hall, which is home to dueling pianos. A good spot just off the beaten path.

Fun spot. Nice courtyard. Had an order of Jambalaya and crawfish etouffee. Both items hit the spot.

I remembered this place to be more fun when I came the last couple times. We visited on a Friday night around 8:45-9pm. Our group was one of the 3 tables that was probably under 50. It was crowded and the waiters will find your party a seat. However, the seating will not always be comfortable. The tables are not really wiped between parties, so be prepared for that. The waiters were not very patient when waiting for your orders (as we were trying to pull up the menu with the QR code, but service was bad). They have a dueling piano, which is the reason why we always make a visit here. The pianist are typically very skilled and able to get the crowd hyped. However, the ones we had were only so-so. It also depended on what the crowd requests too. They are known for the hurricanes! It’s a delicious drink with rum as the base. Beware it’s pretty sugary, great for people who don’t like the taste of alcohol but still wanna enjoy the night. Don’t get too many, it’ll creep up on you.

Two visits in two days! The first time in was awesome, the bartender (Missy?) on Jan24th was great!!! Attentive and carried on conversation with everyone. The second visit, Jan 25th, the guy behind the bar ignored us while he cleaned and did side work (he wasn’t busy). He finally acknowledged us, got our drinks and didn’t try to run a tab. No conversation! Hurricanes are fabulous!!

The back outdoor patio is first come first serve but we managed to snag some stools along the counter. It's a nice relaxing vibe outside. A great spot to stop for a drink.

Cool bar and great atmosphere till you hit the bathroom... left a dollar tip and the bathroom. Attendant looked and me in disgusted and said she didn't need that... like I'm going to tip you like you poured me a drink??? You didn't even hand me a paper towel lady!!

What a cool place to drink! My parents have been talking about this place for decades. I even have their cups from when they went. I finally got to go there myself with my husband! It was everything I hoped it would be. I got the hurricane of course. Couldn’t get a glass but that’s okay because I ended up taking it out on the street.

Hands down a must see in Nola. So much personality, gorgeous setting. Great outdoor garden. And of course the best hurricanes in town.

Talk about an oasis in the French Quarter after walking around all morning. Sitting in the courtyard for Hurricanes may not be on every tourists to-do list but it couldn't have come at a better time. The staff was energized and amazing for our large-ish group of 7.

If you are on Bourbon Street this is a must stop! Not only is the bar area really cool the exterior courtyard is also a nice place to sit and relax. Plenty of tables, chairs, and a really cool fountain with an outdoor bar. Bartenders were very friendly and helpful. The must drink is a hurricane and you can't go to New Orleans without getting a hurricane from Pat O'Brien's! Great location and I loved the environment

One of the better places in the busy and louzy bourbon street. Good ambience and somewhat more quiet than the rest. Don’t get the shots. Super expensive with potentially no alcohol in them. Other drinks were ok.

Great place for your first visit to the Quarter without a doubt. Once you been there well the locals don’t hang out here. The properly made Hurricane is actually served at Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop. The difference is amazing. -Rich

A tourist spot that in my opinion is the most fun spot in New Orleans! We went for the Hurricanes and the piano bar, which I have been to many times and it has never disappointed. They will play just about anything you request, it is lively and just a great place to have drinks. If I’m in New Orleans again I will be sure to visit!

We went to Pat O’Brien’s because who doesn’t go there while in New Orleans?! We sat in the courtyard and had a famous Hurricane and it was so good! The weather was nice and mixed with the atmosphere and service, it was perfect. We sat there and just chatted and sipped our drinks until we were ready to move on. Definitely a place that everyone needs to stop at while in the Big Easy.

Home of The Hurricane! The fountain is beautiful in the evening, and enjoying your libations on the patio is an absolute must. The scenery is something you'll never forget. Truly a memorable experience!!

If you've never been - simply go! Pat O'Brien's is a French Quarter staple. I've visited on all my trips to New Orleans, and it never disappoints. We caught an evening of dueling pianos while we enjoyed the classic Hurricane cocktail. The service is great, and the crowd is a blast. Enjoy!

  • 5/5 Amanda R. 2 years ago on Google
Must do, when you come to New Orleans! They have different sections once you get in, including an outside patio! We spent our night at the piano bar and it was so much fun, the service was great too!

  • 3/5 Scott C. 8 months ago on Google
Apparently this is one of the places you "have" to go to in New Orleans. For me, meh. People apparently really like the piano bar but that's not really my thing. Jambalaya was acceptable, but over priced for what I got. Eating area where they serve food is relatively small. Definitely go to Cafe du Monde, but don't feel bad if you miss Pat O'Briens.

  • 4/5 Chris F. 7 months ago on Google
Only had drinks. Was told if I wanted an original Hurricane go here. Albert and Eric served us up. Awesome guys. The drinks were subpar. Good but I was expecting more kick. I'd go back though.

On our New Orlean’s French Quarter visit, my little group had to stop by Pat O’Brien’s at 718 St. Peter for its famous Hurricane cocktail. My wife had had the signature drink on her last visit many years ago, so it was time for a return to the drink that has rum in it and looks great in a hurricane glass. The courtyard is a beautiful setting for this experience. We had to have a souvenir hurricane glass from O’Brien’s to take home and the nice thing is that the souvenir glass in its protective box is fairly inexpensive.

  • 5/5 Red B. 1 year ago on Google
As a big fan of tropical drinks like the Hurricane (and of Impractical Jokers), Pat O’Brien’s was one of the top places I wanted to try while visiting New Orleans. And it did not disappoint! The courtyard area is such a great place to kick back with a drink any time of day. The wife and I came here multiple times and it was always a good time. Even with how busy it gets, the service is super efficient and they really know how to keep the Hurricanes flowing 🍹 The courtyard area is also a great spot to smoke a cigar with your drink of choice if that’s your thing.

  • 5/5 Margaret F. 1 year ago on Google
We had an amazing time on a chill, take it easy night in NOLA! EVERYONE from the bouncers, bartender, and patrons were super cool! Great ambiance in the courtyard. Grab a good seat and enjoy your Hurricane while you chill out!

  • 4/5 Jeremy M. 1 year ago on Google
Quite the busy spot - even on a Thursday. Lots of young adults. Plenty foreigners. The Irish bar brings everyone together I suppose! There was a cool spacious courtyard that is fun for grabbing drinks w a big group. Drink prices aren’t terrible here either. Worth a stop.
