VERY DISAPPOINTED!! I’m a huge advocate for Marriott. However, this stay left me feeling very disappointed. For starters, the check in process was extremely long and tiresome. None of the rooms were ready. Housekeeping was quite behind and my room wasn’t ready for hours after I got there. The lines were insane and if you got to go to your room, but had issues, you had to stand back in line to talk to someone. Our keypad wasn’t working and an engineer was supposed to come fix it, they never did. We were there for 4 days. We had NO WATER in our shower for the last 3 days. There was also little to no water pressure in our sink. There was no hot water also. Also there was no change in towels. I requested extra towels and never got them. Bathrooms and rooms were quite small. Nothing special about them at all. The valet/lobby area were probably the nicest areas in the hotel. The bar and their staff were the best people and the best thing the hotel had to offer. They were accommodating and worked with us. After all, I will never be back. Quite frankly, for the price, I’ve stayed at nicer hotels that were cheaper for a longer period. This hotel definitely tarnished the Marriott brand in my eyes. They have a lot of things that need to be fixed.

Exactly what we needed. Well priced and convenient. This is not a 5 star hotel- i feel like a lot of the 1 and 2 star reviews were coming in expecting that. It’s clean and convenient and the staff was helpful and accommodating- including storing our luggage upon checkout due to a late flight out. Easy walk to most attractions, comfortable beds, good wifi and clean room. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed six nights during a conference and was quite impressed with this hotel. The room was about as expected and had a large high quality TV and good view. Staff was attentive and friendly. I accidentally left a valuable item in my room and they promptly delivered it to FedEx to ship back to me. Conference facilities and meals were awesome! Great location at the edge of the French Quarter. Many restaurants and bars are located nearby.

My husband and I stayed at Marriott hotel located at 555 canal st. For his birthday in February. We were thrilled to finally get to see New Orleans. Upon arriving at the hotel we informed the staff that our safe was not working, big mistake as this tipped off someone in the staff that we had valuables. They never did come to fix our safe. We put up the Do Not Disturb sign immediately and on our last night there, our valuables that were in our room were stolen.( Apple Watch Ray bans credit card and more) We were having the best time but of course this left us wishing we went elsewhere. We filed a police report and my credit card was actually flagged 10 miles away while we were speaking with the police officer. Marriott did absolutely nothing to help us and states they are not responsible for stolen property. They have staff that is stealing from people!! We read other reviews where this exact situation has happened to other guests. Marriott has lost my business for good!! Be very careful if you stay here as they do not value their guests privacy or safety!!!!!

We checked in early in the day (2pm) and were given an upper floor room as we requested. The front desk attendant was fun and very friendly. She worked through 3 different rooms to get us what we wanted. I should have read the reviews... Water pressure was 2 of 5 stars but did not cause me to have a bad shower... Just not as good as at home. I did not have any issues with water temperature. Our room was clean and I asked a housekeeper in the hallway for a couple of extra towels so THAT was a non issue as well. My fridge worked great. All in all I had a fantastic stay and can't complain about any of it.

I was a not looking forward to staying at this property after reading all the reviews, I even packed extra towels, etc. Well I can say that I had a great experience at this hotel. Check in was great ( sure you have to wait a bit sometimes) but the staff did everything right. The room was clean, towels replaced daily if I wanted. The restaurant food was really good, the servers were so friendly and nice. It was crazy busy due to a conference so sometimes you had to wait a bit but that's too be expected. Miss Jackie who worked during the day at the lounge bar/restaurant was great and the night staff excellent. Security was awesome, no homeless in the hotel or even close to hotel for that matter. The staff at the FedEx office were so helpful. I didn't see anyone cleaning the main area surfaces (elevator buttons, etc.) but that's not to say it wasn't done. This hotel definitely surpassed my expectations and I would recommend this place. A special shout out to Kelvin Vance also in group bookings, so helpful and quick to reply to questions.

I never stayed here only delivered to it and the Fed Ex office inside, but I can tell you it's super clean, and definitely customer focused, as it frequently took the fed ex guys a while to get down to the dock to ship out packages due to the fact that that they kept assisting guests at the office. The lobby is beautiful with a hanging chain curtain art piece that really catches your attention. Staff is very attentive and observant as well. If their cleaning staff is half as good as the lobby staff, your stay will be awesome. It has a high rise which can afford great views of the French Quarter if you get the right room.

We had a great time as always in NOLA. This hotel was located in the perfect location for us and had a GREAT view of the city and Mississippi River. The room was a little small with a 2 year old but we truly enjoyed it. The room was clean and well stocked. From the looks of the other areas we explored, the entire hotel was maintained well. The TV and cable was fantastic. Keith, the bellman was absolutely fantastic. Super friendly staff from the front desk to the valet! We will definitely stay here again!

Marriott’s are always really nice but this one sucked. Paid an extra $50 a night for the M- Club access which promised AND and advertised food, snacks, and drinks 24/7. Throughout the day there was no food whatsoever and the drink machines were constantly broken. The tables were dirty and never cleaned by staff , they were too busy talking in the break room off to the side. There were maybe 2 really sweet and hardworking staff members , but the rest were rude and didn’t care much. When asked to speak to the manager of food / beverage, he sent me a man busting down the tables instead of him. Then the manager finally came after asking for him AGAIN, and just flat out lied about everything advertised and promised regarding the lounge. After catching him in the lie he finally admitted to not having adequate food and drinks for the lounge. Completely rude and dismissive. Was expecting a call back from corporate about the situation but they never called back. There were also no water bottles in the room.

Perfectly located at the edge of the French Quarter. The hotel has been updated and the rooms were well appointed and clean. The staff were all professional and helpful. The "Pantry" in the lobby was convenient and carried a wide selection of snacks, drinks and hot foods. The M Club was far superior to a typical hotel lounge and made the stay at this hotel near perfect.

Great Location, walking distance to point of interest. the pool area was nice and clean. Room was clean, pillow were flat and horrible for a good night sleep. Conference area was big, confortable, and easy to find. In my experience, customer service need to improved- when I questions, answer was incomplete or not accurate.

What was once a great hotel is now noisy and kind of run down. The rooms are dated, the lobby was fine. The noise level from Canal Street was very loud. The coke machine didn't work , the ice machine was barely working. Very noisy neighbors were loud, drunk and fighting. I heard the entire argument through the walls at 1am. Our room was not cleaned and when we asked the front desk for it to be cleaned they didn't seem interested in helping us out. The parking is not a value it severely is overpriced. I won't spend any other dime of my money at his property.

It was my first time visiting. The rooms were small but clean. The room that I had a great view of the river and Canal Street. The room had a coffee maker, a safe, refrigerator, TV, double full beds, an iron, and ironing board. Everything was functional and stocked in the room. Housekeeping and the rest of the hotel staff were great. I would recommend this hotel on the experience I had.

Stayed here for a conference. Had a beautiful view from my room, which was very comfortable. The banquet staff was unbelievable in their dedication to making sure I could eat gluten free safely all week. They were so helpful, I can't say enough about them. The only downside was the elevators - not a fan of how you have to program it from the hallway and have no control once you are inside.

Stayed here with my wife who was speaking at a conference. We had one bedroom suite and found it extremely comfortable. Bed was large and comfy. Great little kitchenette meant we could make tea and coffee and heat some food. Only down side was the small bathroom, which while clean and built for purpose, it was a bit dated and small. Room service was adequate and the location was excellent, being right on the border of French Quarter. Would happily stay here again when back in NOLA.

I was weary of visiting due to the other reviews, but we had no issues staying here. The staff was very friendly & pleasant. They were efficient when we needed them! The safe in the room was broken, but that's not a deal breaker. The ceilings in the bathrooms are really low, but it's not bad if you're under 6ft! Hotel was beautiful, very clean, good location for our needs. Starbucks in the lobby. Download the Marriott app & save yourself time. It's a key if you don't have yours handy, but you can also submit requests and talk to the lobby.

Room was small but comfortable. The bathroom is tiny with a very low ceiling. I could not raise my arms without hitting the ceiling. The shower was made for someone well under 6'. Property was nice but parking is $50 so be forewarned.

Make sure to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking your stay. This site will compare thousands of booking web sites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is the best rated in the area. I have been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you will love it I'm sure! Clean, comfortable, accessible. Wonderful staff. Erika at the front desk was superb! Went out of her way to help us and suggest places to visit around the city. The day after she still remembered us and directed us again. The personal touch that you don't see too often anymore! Would definitely stay there again!

Everything was perfect other than the over priced parking. They charge me $250 for 5 days that was more than my room. I felt so ripped off when I left. But the hotel itself is nice. And valet had us waiting 45 minutes for our car. Crazy

This hotel was really nice, they allowed us to check in early. The rooms themselves were super nice and we had a good view of New Orleans. I am giving a 4 because in one of our rooms, there was a leak that caused the entire room to smell super bad the floor on one side of the beds was wet the whole time. We didn’t put in a request to fix it. Also, they advertise the pool as heated but it isn’t heated in the sense that I was expecting. There is just some heater jets, and the water is warmer near there, but the whole pool itself is still fairly cold

60 dollars a day for valet parking with unlimited access but couldn’t get into the garage for THREE hours because of a parade. The hotel apparently knew NOTHING about yet they had hotel barricades out front. Management “having no idea” there would be a huge parade that would restrict guest access is professional ignorance at its finest. Do better Marriott.

Excellent location and amenities! The suites are spacious and the Bonvoy Lounge is back open after the pandemic. The lounge offers an amazing breakfast and hot appetizers. The service at checkin and in the lounge is amazing. The gym and pool are also nice and it’s a quick 2-3 blocks to Bourbon St. Always my number one spot to stay when in New Orleans.

I stayed at this hotel a few years ago. It was nice then. It seemed newer. It was nicer than the Sheraton at that time. I booked this hotel again thinking it would be nice still, but I was disappointed to see how run down the rooms and hallway looked. The hallways looked like they hadn't been vacuumed on a daily basis. A lot of the times I'd see debris and food in the hallway for days. Some was there from the time I checked in until the day I checked out. The first room we were in had a terrible mildew odor. We were able to be moved, but the next room was so dusty and had a mildew odor as well. The air coming out of the A/C had an odor as well. The carpet looked nasty and unkempt, it's probably overdue to be pulled up. The furniture looked old and run down as well. The bathroom was incredibly small and is in need of repairs as well. The drinks at the downstairs bar were not worth the money. The only thing good was the food. Based on this experience I would not recommend this place or stay here again. I know they get a lot of traffic and it may be difficult to keep up with but this is not what I expected based on the initial stay I had here a few years back.

I mostly stay in Marriott properties. This was by far one of my favorite hotels. From the front desk to the cleaning staff and everyone in between, they were great. Very professional and hospitable. The store, restaurants, and lobby were very busy but very clean. Out rooms were clean. The A/C worked great and kept the room so cold (outside temps in the high 90s). The only minor gripe was the pool. Very outdated pool. There was a deep side and a separate shallow side. No in between. The shallow side pool liner needs to be repaired. It is a bit concerning when you can feel a big air bubble, which moves depending on who's standing where. Other than that, my stay was great. I would definitely be back.

The rooms were good the refrigerator never really seemed to get cold cold. The lobby area had a nice pantry for any snacks you may want on your stay. The restaurant they have down there has a great breakfast that you have to try.

This was our second stay at this hotel. Both times have been good. The rooms were clean and both times we arrived before check in and they were able to accommodate checking us in early so we didn’t need to leave our bags with the bell station. Location is great and is within reasonable walking distance of anything you’d want to do in the French Quarter.

Loved our stay!! We loved the roof top pool, there are two!! One for children at 3 feet deep. There is also a burger place downstairs that was delicious and perfect for that late night meal after swimming!! Very convenient location on Canal and just a few blocks from Bourbon!!

This hotel is across from the cruise port, River Walk, Aquarium, and more. It's close to lots of shopping, dining, and night life, but not in the congestion of the French Quarter. Walking to the heart of the action at Canal St and Bourbon St was quick and easy. The Warehouse district gives you the best of both worlds. Bonvoy will be my choice any time I'm in New Orleans. Staff made me feel so comfortable with their warm smiles and willingness to help. True hospitality.

Never did get conditioner. The pool was closed on our first day. Noone was able to tell us why. There is an exorbitant parking fee. The pantry sells hygien items like the $1 travel deodorant for nearly 6 dollars. Plenty of staff having conversations amongst themselves that you might need to interrupt for info. The coffee shop staff however were wonderful

I nearly missed out on this fantastic room, but a quick check on ʜᴏᴛᴇʟᴅᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ made all the difference. I visited for a work trip. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was great, very comfortable mattress and pillows - no issues with sleeping. Large TV in the room, also a mini fridge. The shower could have been better but it got the job done. The conference I attended was also in the hotel. Plenty of space and seating. Very nice ballroom with good audio system. They offer a breakfast buffet option for a fee. The bar in the lobby was nice with plenty of options.

Beautiful hotel with plenty of amenities. Everything in walking distance. We love canal street and being close to everything New Orleans has to offer. However, on Saturday we picked our car up from valet ($60 a night) and headed to Rouses. We tried coming back to the hotel and every street was shut down for a Christmas parade. We couldn’t get back to our hotel for four hours and parking lots were full. The hotel did not have any posted messages warning guests of this closure, nor did valet. Management claims they had no idea it was occurring, so either they are lying or are completely oblivious to scheduled local events that will affect their business and guests. Upon check out we asked for a night to be comped as it was a major inconvenience and we weren’t getting the services we paid for. Valet said that’s New Orleans and the roads can close at the drop of a hat. As a native, that’s not true, events (especially parades) are scheduled and posted. Highly recommend parking off site in a secured garage. Most were only $30! Also check the events page on the official New Orleans website and Marriott is out of the local loop.

I expected a lot more from a 4-stat hotel. Our first room the lights and power sockets did not work. We noted it to the front desk immediately after walking in. We got moved to a new room, and this one instead had sewer gas filling the bathroom. We had no time to move to a THIRD room, so we prepped and got ready for our event. When we went to bed we closed the bathroom door and we were unable to use it to shower in the morning. The smell was nauseating. It smelled like feces and rotting food. I told the front desk about the sewer gas in the morning when checking out and they seemed un-phased by it. No apology. Nothing. Like it was a normal issue with their bathrooms. 2 screwed up rooms back to back in my opinion is condemning for a 4 star hotel. Then the valet parking, that whole service was downright atrocious yesterday. I understand there were several events ongoing but the valet service literally only had 4 guys running around to manage the cars. They were severely understaffed, losing track of keys and other shenanigans. The wait to get your car yesterday morning was over an hour. I saw several people being told they had to go back to the 45 minute line because they lost track of their car in the queue. You may get lucky with the rooms, though I am skeptical at this point if they don’t take sewer gas in their bathroom serious. A severe health hazard. But if you choose to stay here park elsewhere if it’s during a busy season or you’ll regret it.

Beyond impressed with this hotel. They allowed us to check in quite early, I knew this was not an expectation but a kindness, the rooms were clean and well appointed, a little bit smaller than a prior hotel stay in the area but nothing I'd complain about, just something to keep in mind if you aren't traveling by yourself. The pool was nice, as was the view from the pool deck. Location could not be better, you're steps away from the hustle and bustle of the Quarter at night and the conveniences of Canal are right outside the lobby. AC in rooms worked perfectly. Staff was friendly the entire time and made us feel welcome and valued. We will definitely look to stay here again.

Enjoy my stay the only problem I had was the rooms could be update for the money you pay to stay there. All rooms should have microwaves in them instead of going to the lobby and used a dirty microwave. Bathroom has dirty coming from the ceiling and dusty furniture.

Nice hotel in a great location! Walking distance to Bourbon St and surrounding restaurants and shops. Lobby bar has great drinks and nice ambiance. The coffee & cafe shop has great food & drink options. The gumbo was amazing. The rooms are a little outdated but nice. Long wait for elevators at times but there were multiple conventions going on here. Will return whenever I'm back in New Orleans.

They need to go through all the beds and get rid of any with stains. The same goes for sheets and blankets. The event staff is excellent. Food is OK. The snack bar is overpriced. Don't purchase the cookies out of the case they taste stale. Check-in people, and the process is great. Bell service is great as well. Every employee seems to be willing to do their job, which is amazing. The signs that state where things are located should be on every floor. There's only an outdoor pool. The pool area is nice. I would definitely stay again. The views are good. Mini microwaves should be placed in every room.

The Marriott is definitely located in the heart of New Orleans. The staff is incredibly friendly, especially those working with our team for food/ conference space. The hotel itself could use a refresh in the rooms. In the morning there were times with limited to no hot water for showers. The elevators could take 5-10 minutes due to hotel activity so planning ahead was important.

  • 4/5 Adam G. 11 months ago on Google
I went here for a trade show so I can't make any comment on the rooms. However the food was good in both their main restaurant and through their catering service. It's a very very busy hotel so if you want something quiet or chill, look elsewhere. There's a FedEx on site which is pretty convenient except when I was there, 3x times there was at least a 20 minute wait which was super annoying. At one point the trade show hall was too cold, And we were losing some folks who otherwise would have been attending the booths. But the maintenance staff was quick to react and got it addressed efficiently which I was pretty impressed with. It's in a really cool place in New Orleans so when you're finished with your stay or your event there a nice place to walk around and check out the scenery.

Overall, this is a good place to stay but I do have a few complaints. 1. There is no sound proofing at all. We stayed on the 17th floor and could hear every vehicle going down Canal St. There also some type of film in the water that didn’t seem to come off no matter how much I rinsed. Enough negative; the hotel staff was great, the room was clean and the location is amazing! I would stay here again.

  • 4/5 Cris B. 1 year ago on Google
Very beautiful lobby, seasonally decorated charmingly with Christmas trees throughout. The doorman instantly became my favorite, greeting us with a welcome back and a smile. The front desk staff however is not very friendly, they seemed annoyed whenever we had a question or asked for anything. Also the elevator system is different, and not in a good way. No buttons on the inside, only the outside. Which makes for long wait times for everyone.

  • 4/5 Brittany H. 1 year ago on Google
The location was great, easy walk to Bourbon street and other bars/restaurants. If booking through a third party, I recommend calling to verify your reservation. We were given a room smaller than what we booked, but the front desk corrected the error (only after we brought it to their attention). Everyone was really kind and the room was clean!

My room was a bit dated, could use some upgrades in some areas like the bathroom. The bathroom was pretty small. I had a nice view and the staff was prompt. Room service was pretty quick as well. The price was good, but it just wouldn’t be my first choice when picking a hotel.

  • 4/5 Schera Y. 1 year ago on Google
A friend and I traveled for a mini-vacation. It was very busy upon our arrival. I was troubled and disappointed by the wait as our room was not ready though we arrived a little after check-in time, which was at 4 pm. The explanation given was that it was because I had requested a high floor and they needed to prepare it, though I'm not sure what that had to do with anything. In addition, I was told that their "system" had an outage and that there were 2 conventions in town and a few weddings there that weekend. (We saw evidence of this as a bride and band came through the lobby at one point during our wait. It was quite entertaining.) After the check-in madness, we were finally able to get to our room. The wonderful view of the Mississippi made it worth the hour-long wait. They did not charge for the river view though it would have been considered an upgrade as I did not select a river view room for my original reservation. I believe this was done to make up for being inconvenienced. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. I am only giving it 4 out of 5 stars because of the wait to check in. I see that others have written about the slow/long check-in. My guess is that the location and size of the hotel make it a prime location for so many people therefore, it's consistently busy. Still no one expects to wait an hour to be able to gain access to their room and hotels likely wouldn't be as accommodating if you needed to check out an hour later than their required time. Overall, it was a great hotel and I would stay here again. I would also recommend it to others just with the understanding that the hotel may be busy especially on weekends and so it's important to "pack your patience" just as you would for a popular restaurant at peak dinner hours.

Make sure to use Hoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. They compare hundreds of booking web sites and typically will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! Optimal location for visiting the French Quarter. Room was clean and and the service was outstanding. Shout out to Mary Ann at the front desk and Audrey in the restaurant. They made our stay memorable.

Beds in room smaller than advertised, said queen but they were full. The bar down stairs, ugh. You're better off bringing in your own booze. 15 bucks for drinks that were mostly sweetener and barely a shot. Other than that, nice looking, clean, and lots of comfort to be found. NOT worth the nightly price during events though. Valet was great and friendly, albeit pricey.

Great location. Easy walkable distance to the French quarter and across the street from the streetcar. The rooms are what you would expect and if you book enough in advance, you can get a good deal. The water pressure was great in the shower and ample hot water. Didn’t get to try their restaurant because I was in New Orleans and I was going to eat outside. They have a pantry so if pressed, you can grab essentials from there.

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a resort. This website will compare thousands of booking web sites and typically will have rates much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This resort is one of the best in this area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely won't be disappointed. I visited NOLA for my first time in August 2021 and stayed here. Was a wonderful experience! Staff was very friendly and the rooms were spotless. The hotel is also in the perfect location. It’s central to all of the NOLA downtown action but not in the thick of it. This will be my go to hotel whenever I visit NOLA.

The rooms are a little bit small. I know they did some renovations but I think they added more beds to the rooms which makes it very hard to maneuver around.. The parking situation has to be fixed. I love to stay at Marriott but boy this one's a tough one but it's still a good hotel if you don't mind the smaller rooms. Great location Staff is very attentive To your needs.
