Popular neighborhood watering hole I frequent often as it's in my friend's neighborhood. Couldn't think of a place that matches its name more. I always have a good time and meet new people. Bartenders are awesome AF, they even half remember me even though I show up once every 3mo or so. They also have food at times outside, haven't figured out when exactly that happens, but it's always good. Last several times have been Filipino, but I've heard of the legendary Thai. Not that this place needs much hype as I regularly see it on Nola bar lists. Inside and outside will pack out on the weekends.

I tried to go into Pals with my cardiac medical alert service dog and when I entered with my friends the bouncer immediately stopped us and told us that we couldn’t come in because animals weren’t allowed. When we tried to explain that he was a service dog the bouncer said the sign on the door said no animals including service animals were allowed in. The bouncer was very rude and would not listen to the fact that this was a service dog and not a pet which meant according to federal and state laws access couldn’t be denied to me for having him with me. It is also important to note that my service dog had his gear on that identified him as a service dog, he was glued to my side, completely silent, and being very calm and well behaved, not acting in any manner that would warrant grounds for him to be asked to leave or denied entry. For point of reference the sign on the door just said no animals allowed.

I really loved this bar. I had never heard of it. And will definitely be back. It’s a great neighborhood bar who awesome vibes. The bartender was super friendly and attentive and the drinks were cheap. Definitely give this place a try. It was crowded but not overly so. And the very chill.

I was about to give it 5 Stars till our last night there on 11/16/21. We stayed for a week at a place a block away. Our first 3 times we fell in love, a real neighborhood bar, the female bartenders made us feel welcomed. But the 4th time we went the hipster male bartender was unfriendly and spent most of his time bantering with his friends. We didn’t stay long. Glad we had better nights, and still recommend trying it out.

Absolutely love this happy neighborhood pub. The best service and overall friendly vibe in town. Shoutout to amazing bartender Julian, who makes a killer Old Fashioned (and Paloma, Manhattan, and everything else).

The bathroom is haunted. Ghost is really nice. 15/10 would recommend for afterlife.

Our small Band of Music Brothers discovered Pal's two years ago near our Airbnb while in NOLA for the Ponderosa Stomp. We'll back October 4 for this year's Stomp. Can't wait. Great drinks. Friendly folks working the bar. Pal's should be the template for a great urban social experience.

The bartender is a man and wears a crop top. Would be ok if he was in ok shape but not the case

This was my first time here and I enjoy it. It was crowded this night, but the bartender served everyone in a timely manner. I like the vibe in this place.

I simply cannot recommend this bar more. Cheap, delicious drinks; great service; great company; immaculate vibes. Was looking for a lesbian bar to have some laughs in - and this definitely did not fit the bill on a Monday night, but it did offer an absolutely incredible time that concluded in me sleeping in my own bed happy, full, and a lil drunk. (And honestly - that's the stuff worth living for.)

as it should be—or it'd be called Mal's or somedutch (no typo)—this place and it's people/persons/creatures + their book box are the exemplification of the name Pal's Lounge and it/they always has/have been & always will be <3

Bartender was attentive, nice and really great. Prices are right where they should be for a dive bar. The customers though...they kept yelling and screaming for absolutely no reason and this was a Monday at 6pm. The only thing I can think of is it was July 3rd so maybe a bunch of people decided to get afternoon drunk and continue on since they had the 4th off 🤷‍♀️ Besides those people screaming I dig the place. They also have outside seating which is great but there's a ton of cigarette smokers so just be prepared for that.

Very cool local spot, tucked away in a quaint neighborhood. It got a little loud, but the drinks were good and everyone loved the space.

My neighborhood bar and an excellent place to hang out with neighbors -- I love their gingerita, and there are always good food trucks/pop-ups for food while you're there. Keep in mind that there's not a ton of indoor seating, so be prepared to grab a seat outside!

Nice neighborhood bar. They play old b movies and generally good music on the jukebox. Sometimes there's a pop up kitchen outside. Lots of outdoor seating on/by the sidewalk.

Great neighborhood bar. Dogs only allowed outside on patio. Drink specials are $6-8.

I know it was during Mardi Gras but the staff was terribly rude and unhelpful. The place had a cool vibe but the experience was ruined for me personally. They did have a cooler of ice water and cups out for customers and that was nice as it was busy and did take awhile to get a drink. (Not the reason for 3 stars, I'm in New Orleans quite often and waiting for a drink was definitely not the issue)

It's the perfect neighborhood watering hole. Great staff. Indoor and outdoor seating. Not too noisy. Just cool.

Seemed like a very cool spot and I’ve had many friends recommend the bar. But I’ve never had a harder time trying to get a drink at a bar. The bartender seemed to be ignoring us the entire time we sat at the bar. We never had our order taken the entire time we were there.

What a great neighborhood bar. I have friends in the neighborhood and every time we go somewhere, we eventually wind up at Pals at the end. Cheap drinks, we'll stocked bar, quick and experienced staff and everybody knows your name.

My very favorite local. They can get fancy if you want, but don't mind a damb if you don't.
