Outstanding!! This park and gardens stands proudly beside any in the world i cannot rate them highly enough. Make sure you go into the fern house, the name is a bit deceptive, inside is one of the most colourful displays you’ll see anywhere, the amount and variety of plants used to create the displays is mind boggling. The park covers a vast area around a series of lakes, there are two great kids playgrounds, one within a zoo with all sorts of animals including some monkeys very cute otters. Great cafe with a great setting by the largest lake.

What a great experience we had here. Only meant to stay for a couple of hours but ended up spending most of the day. So many trails to discover & then we saw the zoo, then the fern house, not to mention those pretty lakes. A magical experience for young & old

The park is quite big and well situated in the city. You can wander around, see cascades, fountains and lakes. There are toilets. The paths are very well maintained, some are gravel pathways, others feel more like walking in a forest so it's very cool. Plenty of flowers, plants, trees to look at.

Wow!! Make sure you allow plenty of time here. And a fine day would be a bonus! So so much to discover. Absolute treasure. Beautifully planted, cared for, and run. Loved the bowl. Time bound so didn't manage the whole place, but will be back for sure!

My second visit to this wonderful park. The spring blossom are superb. Lovely to hear the birds. A multitude of pathways to wander at leisure. And a treat to catch a glimpse of Mount Taranaki while drinking tea at the cafe.

So handy, only walking distance to the city central. View is serene and peaceful with Mt Taranaki in the distance in a clear day. Covered by ferns and tall trees, felt like walking in the ancient forest. Love the daphnes planted near the tea house and Japanese garden which send sweet and nice aroma when you walk around.

I visited in 2019 but had to come back and review it. This might just be the best park I ever been to. I really got the feeling of nature walking through here. It is green, full of art and has a beautiful small lake. Words cannot really describe it but the Auckland Domain is nothing compared to this, and this would even give Queenstown Gardens a run for its money.

Love this gardens park. πŸ˜ƒ Lots to see and a lovely bush walk that leads to bridges. Bonus it's dog friendly too. The sound shell was nice and had someone on a saxaphone playing was nice while we ate lunch. Would recommend going here if you like gardens and bush walks, has a small inner city zoo here also.

It’s a great park in its own right. On this occasion went for the Festival of Lights which was great. Excellent weather. Not too crowded. A great place for everyone, singles, couples, families.

A wonderful park to visit, especially with young kids. Kids enjoyed the playground and also seeing the waterfall, lakes etc. I'd recommend double checking where exactly you are going to park if you are NOT going to park at the Brooklands Zoo carpark, as you'll have to pin the location on Google in order to get accurate directions. Bear in mind, the zoo carpark gets pretty busy even on weekdays.

What a lovely park to visit. We had about 45 minutes to spare and enjoyed the Fernery (lovely flowers as well as ferns). We also had time to walk around part of the lake (there is a Cafe on the lakeside serving refreshments). Well worth a visit and with other places to see it is well worth the visit. It is only 5 minutes drive from downtown New Plymouth.

An awesome inner city park, with huge trees, native plants and during summer lots of concerts, music events and the Festival Of Lights (FOL). The Bowl of Brooklands is at one end and the cricket ground at the other side. Very accessible throughout including an epic children's playground.

Not enough adjectives to describe this beautiful park. Taking the $5 buggy tour was the best way to get an overall glimpse which could be followed up by more thorough explorations. A tranquil space full of nature's wonders.

Lovely park. Well maintained and groomed. Scenery is amazing and many paths and walkways to walk through. Kids will be well entertained with all parks and adventures. You can also walk to the Brookland zoo too!
