Sydney's Royal Botanic Garden is such a magnificent place to hang out. When you are there, you should find a bench to sit at and contemplate the glory of life. The Garden itself has wide-open spaces, very spacious to walk around, exercise or picnic with your family and friends. You will see a stunning view of the Sydney Opera House & the Sydney Harbour Bridge as you walk more inwards into the Garden. Besides that, you can also admire the rich diversity of the Garden's flora and fauna and wildlife ranging from birds to possums to reptiles to insects. Happy Exploring! ☆

Highly recommended esp. when the weather is sunny and cool. Gorgeous garden by the water with great view of the opera house and harbour bridge. Walk a bit east of the gardens and you come face to face with an aircraft carrier. How cool is that? I esp. enjoyed the succulent gardens. Many wild cockatoos live there so that’s a bonus sight for me.

The Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney is a heritage-listed major 30-hectare garden, event venue and public recreation area located at Farm Cove on the eastern fringe of the Sydney central business district. Opened in 1816, the garden is the oldest scientific institution in Australia and one of the most important historic botanical institutions in the world. The Garden and The Domain are open every day of the year and access is free. Highly recommended.

What a pleasure to see the water view sights of Sydney from this spectacular location! The scenic garden paths appear endless, and it is a beautiful educational tour with excellent signage at every corner of this well-maintained national treasure. Whether you want to watch the water traffic, admire the Sydney Harbour and Opera House, laze in the sun reading a book on the grass, or watch flocks of cockatoos, it is all there. Some cafes and special exhibitions are scattered around the gardens, creating a relaxing oasis near a bustling city.

This place is always worth visiting. The theme changes at least twice a year, and are always magnificent. I gave 4 stars only because this theme, "Inside the Tide" wasn't as visually appealing to me as some of the past exhibits they've done. It's still worth seeing, the attention to detail is always amazing, and it's educational as well.

I recently visited the Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney, and it was an absolutely enchanting experience! The lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and serene atmosphere made it a perfect escape from the bustling city. The garden's well-maintained paths and informative signage made it easy to explore and learn about a wide variety of plants and ecosystems. The views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge from within the garden were breathtaking. It's a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts, photographers, or anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city. I can't wait to return!

Found a good running spot just on the other side of the royal botanical garden which had superb views. If u follow the path from RB entrance, just further opposite the opera house and then turn right, youll have great views of the water and the ships.

I would Have offered 6 * but I'm restricted... Amazing Food, awsome place! I had to travel more than 15, 000 km to find this wonderful restaurant. We had The Christmas menu and we weren't wrong. Compliments to Chef Nguyen! I will be back! Without Arnold...

What a magnificent garden to explore. I walked around the outside first. Beautiful water views of the Opera House. Then I explored the inner gardens. Truly a place worth visiting. So many different pathways to explore. Many green lawns to have picnics. You can also download an app that gives you a map and also guided tours of the different areas of the garden.

Beautiful gardens. Booked tickets for new year's fireworks and this was a prime spot. Lovely views and lawn perfectly kept. Music was on speakers throughout the evening which kept us entertained. Downside was the very poor facilities. Toilets were dire, even earlier on in the evening, with long queues, no water to flush/wash hands and filthy - not cleaned during the evening.

Magnificent Royal Gardens. We spent hours walking the paths and enjoying the Australian flora and fauna! It was very lovely to walk along the harbor and get a different view of the Opera house. The gift shop was also a great place for gifts and treats for yourself! I try to go to Botanical Gardens in all cities and this is one of the best!

Go to Mrs Macquarie section. It is one of the most beautiful spots in Australia for parks. And with views overlooking the majestic Sydney harbour bridge. The overall park is a magical delight and a meditators dream! So tranquil and transcendent. The views are bliss.

Wow I was genuinely impressed...and not a lot of things impress me in Sydney, since I am from the DC area where the really nice looking Smithsonian attractions have free admission. When I went over here towards the end of winter, I was feeling depressed by how dry and devoid of greenery and flower/foliage variation Australia seems to be...but the Botanical garden was much bigger than I thought it would be and has so much to offer even with the indoor locations close due to COVID. It was really nice to see so many flowers after so long (even if the look fails in comparison to the US Botanical museum). I hope I will be back soon, especially now that it is open for extended hours due to summertime!

I’ve been to Royal Botanic Garden for many times and it’s one of my favourite gardens in the city. It’s always peaceful wandering around the garden with the ducks and birds. The garden has over 5,000 kinds of plants where you can spend all day exploring.

Must see place for all the garden & nature lovers out there. You will need to spend a whole day here to fully see and appreciate the place, sometimes an entire day is still not enough. They have an excellent restaurant called botanical house serving very sumptuous Asian meals and alcoholic beverages. Across the restaurant is a gift shop with interesting souvenirs.

The Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney is an absolute gem of a destination that should not be missed. It's a beautiful and tranquil space that is perfect for taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. With stunning views of the harbour and the Sydney Opera House, it's also a great place to snap some photos and take in the iconic sights of the city. One of the highlights of my visit to the Royal Botanic Garden was the chance to watch the New Year's fireworks from the Garden. The view was absolutely breathtaking, with the Harbour Bridge and Opera House lit up in a blaze of colors. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend watching the fireworks from this spot if you ever get the chance. But even if you're not there for the New Year's fireworks, the Royal Botanic Garden has plenty to offer. There are a variety of walking paths and gardens to explore, each with its own unique charm and beauty. You can wander through the herb garden, smell the fragrant flowers in the rose garden, or simply relax on the grass and take in the view. The Garden is also home to a variety of local wildlife, including birds and bats, which you may spot during your visit. And if you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of one of the resident brush turkeys! Overall, the Royal Botanic Garden is a beautiful and peaceful oasis in the heart of Sydney that is well worth a visit. Whether you're a nature lover, a history buff, or simply looking for a place to relax and unwind, the Garden is sure to delight and inspire you.

Also sings from birds make the mood better. Really good place to take a rest, to take a picture and also to play with kids. I will visit here once again for a picnic with a family soon.

There are also various status around the park so well. Can easily spend more than an hour walking through the garden.

The Royal Botanic Gardens are absolutely beautiful. They are a great spot for a picnic with family or friends, a stroll, or enjoying nature and the sea. There are so many beautiful plants and trees, and lots of people around; the gardens are really buzzing with a great energy. I loved walking around the seawall and taking in views of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. It was also really cool taking in the views of the city; what a contrast with the gardens and city so close, but I love it! Relax in the shade of a tree, go for a run, people-watch; oh, there is just so much to do here! Highly recommend!

Definitely worth a visit, if you need some time to relax from all the hustle and bustle in the city. The roads are paved, if you want to do a run through the gardens, and there is plenty of open spaces, if you feel like having a picnic or just lying in the sun. It's not just flowers and plants that you'll see here, but you'll also get a view of the sydney harbour bridge and opera house. There are a few entrances. One of them is right next to the opera house.

Us Sydneysiders are so lucky to have such a beautiful green botanical gardens located around the harbour foreshore. With so many stunning plants, trees, ponds, secret spots, herb gardens it is a perfect spot to relax or walk around. Some nice cafe and restaurants inside or around the gardens. The look and feel changes year round with the seasons and also how busy it gets with weddings and many other parties and get togethers. The views of iconic Opera house and harbour bridge are second to none. Simply beautiful.

Saw this is the top botanic garden in Sydney. There is paid street parking beside the garden so you can park there. The garden is big but inside there is nothing much to see though. But you can see the Sydney opera House from there. Been to a few botanic gardens but I feel this is more like a park to me. Overall this is just okay. Good place to walk around.

I love visiting botanical gardens within major cities. It felt like a bit of an escape from the hustle and bustle of the Circular Quay. While there's still plenty of things going on outside, the beautiful surroundings, manicured to promote peace and relaxation, helped to slow me down, and drink up the scenery and stillness. Grateful for my stroll there 🙏🏽🤙🏽

This is a great example of a Botanic garden. I always make a point of visiting the gardens of the cities I visit as I find them havens amongst the noice and chaos. The Sydney Gardens did not disappoint. Loads of spots to sit and read, have some quiet time, marvel at the varieties of plant life. 2 things I would mention. 1 a fun way to get there from the CBD is use the underground travelator from the underpass next to the Cathedral.. 2 the cafe in the gardens is badly run, very unfriendly, over priced and if you are Vegan the options are non existent. Best thing, take a picnic and enjoy the gorgeous gardens.

Even in mid winter, the gardens are beautiful and well manicured. It's so nice to see birdlife, ducks, comorants, even eels cohabiting with the people who visit the gardens. The cafe and restaurant are open, but many of the other excellent attractions such as the Visitors Centre and "The Calyx" are closed because of Covid 19 and social distance laws. There are no exhibitions open so far too. But I highly recommend attending the gardens, especially on a sunny day.

We attended a private event held in / around the Rose Garden. So the below covers that. Very well equiped space, with ammenities close by. The lawns and gardens are well manicured and a perfect space to hold an event. There is shade cover from the trees and also a pavilion for protection from the elements. Highly recommended.

Natural sceneries in this Sydney spot are amazing. It is reecommended to any plant lover to visit Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. Despite the natural beauty, on the weekends you can expect noisy loud music. It can totally be unpleasant to hear loud music while you are expecting to hear natural sounds like birds.

A very beautiful part of the city. Given all the buildings around this slice of green that carves right through the CBD is a humble paradise. Well tendered to and very relaxing to walk through. Just be careful of the bindi populated grass in parts.

One of the highlights of Sydney. Beautiful array if plants, water front view and a great place for a picnic. Smaller than it’s Melbourne cousin but makes up for it in other ways. Great way to spend an afternoon strolling around watching the world go by…

Beautifully groomed, picturesque gardens where you could spend all day just sitting, walking or exploring. Loved watching so many families out enjoying the sunshine and I thoroughly enjoyed walking around all the little pathways wondering what little surprise was coming up around each corner or turn of path. Plenty of well placed seating or green space fir picnics. Some of the sculptures are stunning and some adorable. Loved the echidna❣️so many stunning views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. A must for tourists visiting Sydney- you won’t regret it💕

Lush and beautiful. One of Sydney’s best (must see!) attractions and one of the most amazing botanic gardens in the world…harbor, opera house and city views included.

Massive garden with an enormous amount of plants and wildlife. Nice view of the opera house and the bridge from the opposite end of the gardens. It would be very hard to walk around the entire gardens in one day and see everything as it’s far bigger than the one back in Adelaide.

Booked tickets to watch the fireworks on NYE. Bridgeview mostly interrupted by trees but managed to take decent pics. You can find a good spot to take pic if u come early.. Food was awesome!

Awesome experience, the walk, the view even relaxing under a tree has its taste. The only issue might be sometimes commuting safely between athletes and runners. I believe seniors might have an issue with that.

Such a beautiful garden on our lovely foreshore with views of Opera house , bridge and city. The gardens are meticulously maintained and awash with so much colourful blooms. Beautiful lakes, bridges and fountains , so peaceful.

Great spot to break away from the crowds in the city. The gardens are very large and overlook the harbour and city. I recommend going and finding a spot for a picnic. They also have plants from all around the world. A must visit for a quiet sunny Sunday afternoon.

The Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney is a true oasis in the heart of the city. The garden is beautifully manicured and well-maintained, with a wide variety of plants, flowers and trees from all around the world. The garden is perfect for a leisurely stroll, a picnic, or just to sit and relax. The garden also features a variety of sculptures and artworks, which adds to the overall aesthetic appeal. As someone who has always been fascinated by nature and its wonders, visiting the Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney was an unforgettable experience. With over 30 hectares of sprawling greenery, the garden is a stunning showcase of Australia's diverse flora and fauna! Amazing. From one to another flowers, there seemed to be no end to the beauty and complexity of these living organisms. Trust me, you will find yourself taking countless photos and videos, capturing every angle and perspective of the stunning nature around you. One of the highlights of my visit was the garden's stunning harbor views. As I walked along the waterfront paths, I was treated to breathtaking vistas of Sydney's famous harbor, including the iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbor Bridge. It was truly a magical experience to be surrounded by such natural beauty while also taking in the city's iconic landmarks. And….. it’s free, no cost. Bring your water and food and enjoy the views.

This is one of the nicest open gardens I’ve come across and the fact it’s free to access and wander around is superb. There’s lots of different sections but each is really well kept and gorgeous to admire. Despite there being a fair number of people there on my visit it was still very peaceful and the perfect retreat from the city. With the waterfront at the bottom and a nice walk to the opera house it’s even more accessible and appealing and everyone should visit when in the city.

This place is absolutely wonderful. I went there several times during my trip, and each time, I found something new to see. Plus, it is entirely free to enter. The gardens are large. They are split into different areas, such as the herb gardens, palm house, and fern gardens. There are a lot of areas. The views all around the gardens are incredible. Of particular note are those of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. There is a cafe, restaurant, souvenir shop and toilets on the site. The souvenir shop had nice items, but they were pricey. The gardens are fully accessible to people who have a disability. There are lots of seats if you need to take breaks. There are yours offered, such as the 'Aboriginal Bush Tucker Tour.' These are run a few days a week, and you have to pay to attend. You can purchase tickets online.

A place nice and relaxing place to stroll around without any entrance fee. Visited Royal Botanic Gardens during winter so most of the flowers were dead, but inside there was some kind of a green house where we still could enjoy beautiful plants and flowers.

. We did a beautiful walk through the Sydney Botanical Gardens on a glorious spring day - past wonderful displays of spring flowers - a delight for all the senses (the perfume from the Wisteria was gorgeous and there was an amazing area covered with Rock Orchids)

A lovely Botanical Garden in the heart of Sydney, easy to walk 5 miles, a fab cafe and gift shop on site plus toilet facilities. Some areas can be a bit steep in places. Fab day out!

Quite lovely to walk around. Lots of different areas and good photo opportunities. Would have given five stars though there weren’t many bubble taps to get water especially on a hot day. Would go again and recommend going here.

Great place for a picnic, walk and scenery. Great city and bridge views. Only downside is no ball games no matter how minor. So keeping kids amused isn't the easiest for extended periods.

As I entered, the vibrant colors of meticulously curated flora welcomed me, creating an instant sense of tranquility. The garden's layout is a testament to thoughtful design, offering a harmonious blend of open spaces, winding paths, and themed sections. The diversity of plant species is awe-inspiring, and each corner of the garden unfolds a new chapter in the story of botanical wonder. From the delicate blooms to the towering trees, the garden is a living tapestry that showcases nature's artistry. The manicured lawns invite visitors to pause, breathe, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds them. One of the highlights of the Botanic Garden is the opportunity for a calming walk. The real royal botanical of a city. Wonderful place with many amazing spots. Find lots of flowers, indoor flowers, or just barbeque in the garden or walk exercise around this huge garden. Amazing view with the water too or to the opera house.

A huge green space located next to the Opera house, it’s full of trees, birds, and benches to rest. It includes a historical building for the government. It is amazing to spend few hours walking around and listen to the birds and take a lot of pictures. It is a great place to practice sports, photography, or to make small picnics
