This is one of your typical tourist traps in Taiwan. It’s full of souvenir shops selling many non-Taiwan made cheap items and some snack/drink places nestled in between the souvenir shops. The buildings were all renovated so it really didn’t appear to be “historical”, but the architecture was very interesting to look at. Many cars parked on the street illegally so it can be dangerous to actually walk on the street itself. The tiny temple at the entrance of the street was interesting with so much carvings. We parked at the underground garage below the traditional (and very smelly) market after the market was closed for the day so there were plenty of spaces. I suppose this place is worth an hour or two of your time if you’ve already visited other nearby places in Taipei.

The buildings are nice, and the nearby riverside has been recently renovated somewhat. The old street is nothing special though, and can be ridiculously busy at the weekend, especially if it's a public holiday. The street is also pretty short, taking just a few minutes to walk from one end to the other, even as part of the inevitable seething mass of people. Also beware, the cycle path along the river does not yet join the main riverside cycle route back towards Taipei, so you'll have to ride along some fairly busy roads for the 10 minutes of the route nearest to the old street.

Historic and beautiful place with many shops. The famous bullhorn croissants are delicious! We enjoyed our visit!👍 We went to a park on a hill very close from there with a very nice slide! My kids loved it!

This place is rather overhyped. Come here despite the far location from Taipei as I’ve seen many good review about this place. However, our visit is not that worth it. The small alley might be pretty in the morning for some photos before any shop open. However, in the evening, the shops open there are rather strange for us. Many pottery and the food there doesn’t seems nice for tourists as well. We might visit again next time, but just for taking photos in the morning.

This place reminds me of the traditional culture that Taiwan has and they sell many kind of things from tea to snacks, you can find delicious food to satisfy yourself here! I loved the architecture and the pavement that decorate this old street. What makes this place different from other has to be the tidiness and red brick buildings that are their specialty.

(Translated by Google) A lot of people think it is lively but crowded, and when there are few people, it feels deserted but strolling leisurely. One of the many old streets that we can find in Taiwan. Loads of cool stuffs. The bread shops are the one of the main attractions here. Was here in the evening and the night market was open too. Huge market and crowded. There is a small stream that crosses through, nice spot for chilling with friends. A good place for a weekend ride or drive.

A baroque style Taiwanese old street. You can buy the popular bullhorn croissant 🥐 there. At the end of street, there is the famou temple carved by renowned Taiwanese architect.

(Translated by Google) The most important thing in the Three Gorges District is the Changfuyan Qingshui Zushi Temple. The real croissants are in the alleys of the vegetable market. There is also the Matsu Temple (Xinglong Palace) in the old street. , Yuelao, Zhusheng Niangniang, Emperor Wenchang, this is the only difference in Laojie I know!

Colorful and convenient with nice places to buy local souvenirs. Lacking in parking places.

  • 5/5 Emman 3 years ago on Google
Just like any other old Street in taiwan, various flavors through out taiwan can be seen here, and includes the old temple that carefully carve every design of it. Highly recommended to go here the only downside is the parking lot because it's a little bit far but worth it.

Good to visit to enjoy cow bread and coffee no matter weekday or weekend. Historical place and street that makes your visit full of fun. Plenty of car parks in primary school or market. Not expensive souvenirs such as toys, snacks, aroma oil, 腐乳, 皮蛋 Games is cheapest as $50/ time. Fruits - can be found in market.

A tourist stop to admire old architecture and one for the history buffs. It's a short 200m stretch so can be done quickly unless one gets caught up with buying stuff or snacks at one of the many tiny shops. But I would avoid it as prices need to reflect probably the high rents across this well-visited stretch. I recommend venturing a 100m walk away to Minsheng Street where one can join the locals in their morning or lunch time bustle, going about buying seafood, poultry; or just checking out homeware or even toys for the kids. I found the atmosphere really authentic and worthy of walking along for an experience!

One of the best old street in New Taipei City. Beautiful heritage buildings along with stalls selling local delicacies. Parking can be found near the market and be there early to avoid lunch crowd.

Lovely place to walk around and view the older architecture. There's also delicious food along the street and a temple nearby.

Lots of leather shoe stores, old school kid toys and snacks stores. We found the cooked thin dough-skin wrapped old school ice cream with peanut shaving and cilantro (潤餅包冰淇淋). We tried the taiwanese croissant (牛角), which was pretty tasty. We went there on a weekday so the street wasn't busy at all.

Regarding to the locals this street is a classic. From the outside you see old buildings and when you enter you get a combination of old meets new. Very nice location to spend a afternoon or day shopping.

This is my first time to visit Sanxia old street. From far we could smell the fragrance of the golden 🥐 😋😋😋 and a lot health related shops selling the tools for self massage. Time was never enough when you meeting old friends. At the end we sat down and have a cup of Almond tea then we head for home.

Support local Taiwanese vendor here, they’re nice and friendly. I loved the fact that we (my fam and I) were the only foreigners (I think) when we visited yesterday. Great vibe. Perfect for photo ops. And there were lots of doggos too love it!

A short and quiet street, a few minutes distance from one end to the other. But I found the cheapest bitter melon juice in Taiwan over there, just only 70 TWD.

A nice historic place to take a walk and browse the gift shops. The streets are lined with tea shops, handmade wooden gifts, shoes and toy shops. The buildings are historic/restored brick. There’s not an awful lot to do but it’s a nice trip from Taipei for a change. Be sure to try the traditional Bullhorn shape croissants from the bakeries.

A small beautiful old street. Not too many tourists as we came here early in the morning as the shops just start to open their doors. At the end of the street there is a temple. A must see is the shop Tai Hwa Pottery. A famous ceramic business with beautiful vases.

It is a must see in Sanxia. The street is quite dynamic with always some people to enjoy the work of some craftsmen, the temples or the various shops. There is an obvious historical side thanks to the traditional building with red bricks, and a gastronomic side too, with several renowned shops, especially for croissants. These will make delicious and original snacks (but don't expect the French croissants). At last, temples add yet another aspect, through religion, culture and architecture. In short, very interesting and with a specific touch that does not let you blend Sanxia with all the other old streets still present in many cities.
