The food and the restaurant are good with reasonable price. This is the first time I eat in the restaurant. The staff are welcoming and nice.

Thrice in 3 months and always a wonderful experience. Staff is very friendly. Ambiance is very nice too. Chicken is so tasty and perfectly grilled. For 2 people, $26.99 deal is perfect. (Picture attached) Always coming back and highly recommended.

A pleasant surprise at Barcelos. We were in South Burnaby area not knowing where to have a late lunch. We saw a few eateries at the east end of the Market Crossing Shopping Complex. We dropped in without any expectations. The flamed grill chicken was extremely well prepared. The skin was crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. The Peri Sirloin Burger was excellently cooked and wonderfully seasoned. We had a casual but a very delicious meal at the Barcelos. Highly recommended.

I was craving for grilled chicken so I decided to try this out. It was quite disappointing. The grilled chicken was dry and overcooked. Even the legs and thighs that are the least to get dry was. The flavour was also lackluster. Chicken won’t taste like anything without the sauce and the sauce wasn’t even impressive. Rice was bland. Just…salty. And service was subpar.

The place looks really nice and it makes for a pleasant atmosphere, especially due to some creative wall decorations using African motifs. Food is ok and but could get better if they would ask before soaking salads with sharp dressing of their own choice. Staff seems stressed and hurried even with the place is mostly empty. I wonder why.

The food is soo delicious and i really love it so i highly recommend that to visit here and enjoy the amazing food and the customer service is also really good

Had a peri chicken Cesar pita (very peri spice level) with coleslaw and a Fruitopia. Service was friendly and food arrived quickly. Chicken was pretty tasty and portion size met expectations. Love the smell of BBQ char in the place. I'll probably be back.

I ordered food via DoorDash and couldn’t be more disappointed. The chicken was undercooked and smelled so bad. There was a chunk of lettuce head thrown in the salad and was stale and the napkin was dirty. Never order from here again!

Staff member taking order didn’t seem to know the menu, had to tell her kid’s meal came with a drink. Also very disorganized, had to go up to the counter three times to ask for missing items. Wasn’t even that busy. The kid’s meal chicken leg and fries looked good. However, the chicken sandwich I ordered was quite disappointing. The chicken inside was very thin, like they cut the chicken breast in half lengthwise and flattened it out and much as they could. Didn’t even cover the whole bun! Won’t go there again especially since there are better options nearby.

I usually order in Marine Way branch of Barcelos, and most of the time I order whole chicken only. Today, I order chicken from this Marine Drive Branch, when I'm just 5 minutes away from this restaurant for take out, so when I arrived there in just more than 5 minutes they have only 2 people eating at 5:30 pm, that is supposed to be busy but not. So I went to the counter, the chicken was already in the bag. I told the lady, that I usually don't want my chicken to be chop, but she said it's been chopped already and ready for pick up. So I just pay and leave, when I arrived home (5 minutes away from them) and open the bag, the chicken is not even hot, just warm. They just put a lot of sauce to the chicken. The chicken is not complete whole chicken, one of the wing was cut off, the back was also missing (my favorite part of chicken). I called the lady and asked why my chicken was like that, not hot, just warm and missing other parts, and she is making some alibi or reasons that doesn't make sense. I'm comparing to the other branch and other chicken restaurant like Nando's, their chicken is different, kind a HANDICAPPED...I don't recommend ordering from this branch. We are disappointed.

Online ordering was not working. Went to order takeout in person. The cashier nicely staples the package, so that you discover your sides are missing only when you get home… Triple check what you pay for vs. what they actually pack.

Me and my family went barcelos to try new food and we love the the veggie pita and the veggie wrap were so delicious and staff service was very nice so visit there it is very nice place to dine

I usually love coming here but yesterday I ordered takeout and received an old, burnt potato. It was so gross, I threw it out. I called the restaurant and informed them, they just took my phone number and said they would call me back but never did.

Yesterday I ordered the family of whole chicken and 2 sides yam fries and cole slaw. The chicken was done just right very juicy and the right amount of spice. I also ordered the veri perri chicken sandwich on a Portuguese bun and it was also good and juicy. Just little recommendation though the cole slaw could use a bit more of dressing as it’s a bit dry. The perri chicken sandwich was medium size compared to the bun. I still give them 5 stars as the food is good.

Never going back to these fools again. I ordered vegan and what I got was the exact opposite. I should have known something was up when the kitchen and counter staff kept talking while looking at me.

Nice place, cosy, with nice sofas. The theme is an African theme, lots of African pictures around, looks really nice. The menu is simple and nice, we ordered the meal for 2, the second option and a 1/4 chicken, we went for the tangy lemon flavour so it was mild for the kids to enjoy too. The sides we got were plain fries and Peri fries. Definitely enjoyed the period fries more. The chicken kebabs were nice, pcs of tender soft chicken on skewers, The service was fast. It was a quiet place, not many ppl. Uber eats and skio th dishes came to collect orders while we were there. Bathrooms were clean. The place was clean and there were sanitizers available. Parking available outside. There were lots of other dining places and stores around in the area. Would recommend it anytime!
