Love this restaurant! I had a my friend’s birthday dinner yesterday. Food came out fast and was so FRESH! Servers also very friendly that make sure we re all satisfied. Been a trouble finding good sushi in this neighborhoods but super happy Takara came recommended. I would recommend planning ahead and making reservations as it did seem like it booked up fairly quickly.

Wow. What a Japanese resto this one is. From the quality of food to the selection they offer (fried baby octopus), this one is a must visit. Great service, good portions and awesome taste. Definitely worth the price and will be coming back here sometime. Wagyu nigiri with fried quail eggs on top? Yes please. This resto definitely punches above its weight class.

Quality take out sushi. Fish was fresh and clean tasting. No complaints. Great take out sushi. Everything tasted as expected. Nothing stood out but everything was done well.

I couldn't get the name of our server but she was a gem. Very charming and sociable. The food was amazing, zero complaints here!

Unassuming spot for sushi but it was a very pleasant surprise. Great staff, clean, and relatively quick service. Sushi came out beautifully presented and you can tell they use fresh ingredients; even the tea comes piping hot. The way they fry their stuff is *chef’s kiss* everything has a welcomed crunch. May seem a little pricey, but it’s worth it for what you’re getting here.

I'm surprised to find a decent sushi place in Burnaby. The atmosphere and interior design was very dainty. I love the murals and the mix of traditional and contemporary vibe. The food was actually of good quality! The portions were small, and the prices were high, but the quality was legit. They even had Wagyu and foeis gras LOL. The place was packed when we came, and was packed when we left. The staff were very polite.

They’re very busy on weekends and don’t take reservations. So make sure you go a bit early otherwise wait time can be long. Food were good and fresh, service is bare minimum. Might be a good idea to hire another server.

Yum! Such a great spot for sushi in the Vancouver/Burnaby area. Lots of street parking around too. We arrived for dinner without a reservation and was given a spot at the bar right away. Service was prompt and we got some hot tea right away. The sushi was really great! The aburi sushi were my favorite - can’t go wrong with the whole menu!

Overall everything was very delicious and food came relatively fast but it was a little bit pricey in my opinion. They ordered the chicken karate, salmon oshi and a bunch of rolls (which I can't remember the name of) 😅

I love the sushi here! Their ingredients are so fresh and every bite is so delicious. Their miso soup was very tasty and not as salty as other restaurants. Can’t wait to be back soon! Side note, I would highly recommend making a reservation.

Everything is good! So Yummy! Engawa and Wagyu are the best! Will come again to try other dishes.

First time trying this restaurant. Food quality is good but the teriyaki rice portion is very small. Barely enough for my kid.

Excellent food and service. I tend to go there once every couple of weeks, and the food is consistently tasty. The staff is very friendly and they have excellent memories as they always remember my order and work hard to reduce wait times. The place itself is on the smaller side and can get busy during lunch rush hour. Regardless I would recommend this place, and choose to go there regularly for my sushi fix.

Came here randomly on a Friday night and so happy we did because this place is a hidden gem. Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Vancouver - so fresh and melts in your mouth. Also amazing service and super friendly owners.

A delightful experience! We dropped in without reservations on a busy Saturday night and were seated at the last free table. We ordered an assortment of rolls to share, my fave being the Salmon Avocado Roll, but they were all so fresh and good. Especially appreciated the still warm and crispy tempura prawn inside the dynamite roll! We also noticed/appreciated that they don’t use too much rice in the rolls. A perfect ratio. Can’t wait to come back and try the sashimi!

I went here for lunch with a friend today and the place was full of happy customers. Tommy the Chef welcomed us with a hearty hello and made us feel like family. The sushi is a bargain at the prices and hits the spot you're trying to fill. Top notch establishment all around!

My go to sushi place 🥰. Small cozy restaurant and great service! Whenever I come here I always get the foie gras nigiri and the wagyu nigiri with quail egg on top (optional) so good! The rice ratio to the topping ratio is good. The prices are also on the fair side not overly expensive but you can definitely taste the quality of the food here. 10/10 ~

One of my favourite restaurants to go to in Burnaby. The sushi is fresh, delicious and tasty. The staff are attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is quaint and inviting. I would recommend getting the Red Dragon roll and the Banzai roll, both are really tasty and have great flavours. The sushi here is worth its value and I will come back again!

First time trying the restaurant. Clean restaurant with nice ambience and attentive staff. Very extensive menu at a reasonable price. Everything we tried was fresh and well prepared. Will definitely come back.

3rd times a charm. This place so far is my fav sushi joint in Burnaby and all of Vancouver. Excellant fresh sushi and decent prices. Small place located right off Boundry Road. Spoke with Tommy the owner. He made and gave us something so special and tasted so fresh like a salad. My friend named this "The Salad Bite" it was so amazing. One of the best things i have ever eaten. Check out my picture and show it to Tommy to order it. Its not on the menu. I could eat here a few times a week.
