Not impressed for the price we paid. We did get a dog friendly room so we may be in the lowest part of the hotel……. We were supposed to get the $20 Starbucks for a “dreaming of summer deal” they initially didn’t give any. Then went to ask. They gave 10. When we realized it was only 10 we had to ask again. The bed sheets had some sort of makeup or stain on the fitted sheet and something sticky on the other sheet. We asked for new ones and we were handed a fitted sheet and a new duvet cover. The walls were damaged and the sink is leaking. To not be completely negative, the staff was very friendly Would not come back. Expected way better for $315 a night.

Stayed here for three nights from 5/23/22 to 5/25/22. It is at the heart of Surrey, BC. Maintained very clean and very well. It is probably a Apartment building converted to a hotel. All are Suite rooms with 1 or 2 bedrooms. A full sized kit hen is available for long term stay. Close to all amenities in Surrey. Very safe place for staying alone and car parking is secured as well. excellent service

Joel was so friendly and the room was beautiful clean and fantastic view. I’m so grateful to the person who got me the rest and care that I needed for our stay. I highly recommend that when you’re looking for a great place close to the mall and so many amenities.

I have been working away for 17 years and I have stayed a lot of different hotel chains and alot of different sandman’s. Not only is it by far the nicest sandman staff it is the nicest and kindest hotel staff I have ever dealt with. Especially Anu she is so accommodating and friendly she brightens my day every time I walk out of the elevator to go to work. She is always super happy and makes it that much easier to be away. Thanks so much for everything Anu👍👍👍👍

I had just moved from my apartment and needed to stay 1 night during the transition. I had a pet and needed accommodations as close as possible to Port Moody. Upon my search this hotel came up as the best option. Firstly the people who work there are very friendly, professional and helpful. It was a real pleasure to deal with them. especially Anu who worked In the front desk reception. The room (suite) itself was very spacious and comfortable and felt like I was in a very tastefully decorated apartment. Additionally it was remarkably clean, which I really appreciated. I strongly recommend this hotel and thank Anu and the others at Sandman Suites for a very enjoyable stay.

Staff were highly professional and accommodating, particularly Anu who checked me in. The clean and well kept rooms made my stay highly comfortable. Many stores and restaurants easily accessible near by made the Sandman a great choice to stay at. Despite my short visit I got a quality nights rest and would consider coming back in the future.

We travel a lot and have stayed at multiple places, but this has been one of our worst experiences - both in terms of quality of rooms and the customer service. To add to it, the price was exorbitant. I wouldn't even want to pay half the price for the quality we received. ROOM: Really dated, run down and highly needs maintenance - broken blinds, torn wall paper, unclean counters, dirty and peeling bathtub. The view from the room is of a huge powerbox and some garbage, pretty disgusting. SERVICE: The second night we stayed, the AC stopped working. It was hot and we couldn't sleep. I called the reception and the person came over to help, which was basically asking me to adjust the thermostat which was already set to 20C. But since the AC wasn't working, the room was much hotter. The person said that was all he could do (aka thermostat adjustment) and left. We barely managed to sleep at night. Again, called the reception for help in the morning, they responded someone would come and check, but no one showed up. After 1 hour, I called again to check, and they stopped picking my call! We were so frustrated that we checkout out a bit early to not deal with them. Never staying here again and will suggest friends and family to avoid this place as well. Total rip-off!

I've waited almost a year to leave this review, because I didn't think it was fair to put too much emotion into it. This stay was the last night of the week of our honeymoon, so our expectations were higher than normal, despite it just being an overnight stay before a flight home. So in that frame of mind, I will try my best to simply list the facts of our stay at the Sandman Suites Surrey-Guildford and let the reader judge for themselves. We arrived at the Sandman in the late evening, and checked in without much drama. Our traversal of the parking area was harried due to the unusual bespoke designs involved, but it did look secure and relatively clean. We couldn't find much in the way of budget rooms, so given what we had spent on the night, I figured this would be a solid place to stay. Getting into the room was not so easy. Our room card didn't work. We went back to the front desk, still bogged down with our luggage. We were issued another room key. I ask the clerk, have you any refreshments? I am parched. He says, I'm sorry, we do not. I'll have to wait for some tap water I suppose. No big deal - it's getting quite late. I'm sort of surprised there isn't a bottle of water available, but I'm too tired to put up a fight. We went back to the room, which is situated directly in front of this droning and ill-maintained commercial air conditioning unit, and found our card still not functional. Back to the lobby. They looked at us incredulously, the desk clerk and the security guard. Help them out, says the clerk to the guard. He gives him yet another key. I look in the corner of the lobby and see a small fridge. I curiously walk over and find it full of cold drinks. We lug ourselves back to the room. This key also doesn't work. The guard says he'll be right back. We wait in the hallway in front of our room, air conditioner warbling and complaining, occasionally changing pitch. The guard returns - the room opens - he grins - we stumble into our room at last. We're greeted with a musty smell and an ironic dampness in the air, given the dramatic stance on air conditioning. My wife enters the washroom and finds a blowtorch (?) scorch mark on the bathroom mirror. Oddly, the air conditioner is somehow louder inside the room with the door closed. We leave without further event, until we get the bill for the room. We've been charged some odd, poorly explained fee in the hundreds of dollars. We have a back and forth over the phone and email and they finally reverse the charge and explain it with some user mistake or computer problem. I don't recommend staying at the Sandman Suites Surrey-Guildford.

Amazing hotel. Even more amazing is the staff. Always so welcoming. Had an amazing stay. Got a room upgrade with a beautiful view of the city. Would highly recommend this property because of its team, service and location.

Large well appointed rooms that have all the necessities such as towels and linens. The kitchen with Stove, Fridge, dishwasher, and microwave is equipped with dishes and utensils. I didn’t realize it when I was booking, but the room also has a washer/dryer in it! Joel checked me in and was extremely professional and helpful. That’s not something I always see at other properties. Thanks, Joel!!

Our family stayed at the Sandman Suites in Guilford, Surrey BC on Christmas Eve 2023. Joel, the front desk clerk was kind enough to upgrade our room to the penthouse suite at no extra cost. Even though we only stayed for one night, our family really enjoyed it. The penthouse suite was absolutely beautiful. Great location, walking distance to the mall but most of all very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend the Sandman Suites in Surrey.

solid 4 out of 5. yes, the building is showing its age, but there have been some updates and it is like a little apartment so it was perfect for us and our budget. We bought groceries at walmart to do our own food prep. Air cond continued to plug away during the heat wave - yay!

The sandman guildford was an overall good experience! One thing I really enjoyed was the bed. It was comfy like the bed we have at home!!

Right be the freeway makes it an easy decision. Helpful staff and suites available with kitchenettes to make your extended stay more comfortable, close to many local amenities and rates has this a first choice. Appreciate everything and use this hotel frequently. Thank you

I always have an excellent stay since finding the Guilford Sandman in Surrey. Their front desk agent Aiza is awesome, always working with smile and a great attitude. No problem to big or small for her to help at the drop of a pen. This is my new stay on the coast for business trips. Clean hotel, friendly staff, secured underground parking, close to lots of amenities and some amazing morning views.

Really good price for a luxury hotel if you need a stay around Vancouver or Surrey area . Also have a good restaurant and bar with quality drink and food . Very professional and friendly staff . Definitely recommended 👌.

We stayed here during the Heat Dome of 2021, and the experience was amazing. Firstly, booking with the nightstaff and getting assistance was beyond my expectations of service. We had called about the pet policy, as we have two cats. The night staff were accommodating in finding us what we needed, and ensured our stay was what we needed. Felt good staying at a place that cares so much about our experience. Room was a reasonable rate too, all things considered, and our cats were comfy in the AC. Their door is accessibility friendly, as are their elevators. Parking there is tons in the front, or underground garage. Nothing bad to say about this place or the stay, just Uber Eats and SkipTheDishes seemingly just didn't deliver certain items, which sucked.

I've stayed at many Sandman locations in BC and Alberta but missed this one in Surrey. Great locations - walking distance to amenities and the view from 12th floor was great. Staffs are awesome. Definitely will return.

We were very happy staying at this hotel. Anu was very friendly at the front desk and the housekeeping staff were also very helpful. We found the housekeeping staff named "Kulwinder" was very kind and efficient, she made sure we had the housekeeping supplies that we needed to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We will be returning to this hotel again. Thank you

I’ve stayed at sandman twice for two weeks for work in Surrey. Great service and great staff. Room is always clean. For long stays, it’s definitely a hotel you can stay at. The suite has a dryer, washer and a kitchen which is great, I don’t need to do laundry elsewhere or order out. Also, great location, there’s a mall across from the hotel, a couple of restaurants and Walmart (walkable distance).

Loved the stay. Very friendly staff and great service. Special thanks for Abner for letting us check out late. The view from my suite was spectacular. I think the property is a bit old, but it was a great stay overall.

Anu at the front desk is fantastic… she did our check in, and was very friendly and accommodating. All the staff have been friendly and helpful. Our room is clean, spacious, and well maintained. Location is great… close to Guilford Mall, and close drive to highway 1 (easy to get pretty much anywhere).

This is a great chain. They let my niece use a cash deposit when she didn't have her credit card. Friendly, sanitized would recommend, don't let the parking lot deter you; it's in just in need of repair.

Next time will ask for two double bed as your couch was not comfortable at all .And also as a senior and my daughter who is a person with disabilities the cost is very high and hard to believe. We have stayed with you many times as the location is close to things we need to travel to. Please let me know if you have discounts of any kind.

Stayed here in the past few days, really a nice place to enjoy. Need to check out this morning, but due to something important and I need extend my stay till tomorrow. The front desk agreed at same rate and have made key for me. Then I returned my room. After about 20 minutes, they called me and said my room was booked by someone else, and The Hotel Was Fully Booked. I was upset but can do nothing. After a while, I checked there are still rooms for sale online, there are still rooms for sale for today!! And price went up a lot.

Was told at check in, not safe area after dark. Stepping out the elevator on 3rd floor reeks of cigarette. Not the cleanest. 1hr after check in Front clerk asked "how my newly renovated" room was, and also asked for a 5 star review. Sorry, but I'm honest. Very poor renovations. Breakfast consists of coffee and packaged muffins. Overall it was a place to sleep.

Stayed here for just over a week while visiting family with my spouse. Excellent hotel with really friendly staff and very clean comfortable rooms. Great secure underground parking with key card access. Rooms feature spacious living space with fully stocked kitchen and the best feature for a longer stay, a in room washer and dryer! Will absolutely stay here everytime we travel to the Surrey area and highly recommend to anyone. The only downside is the Moxies has recently closed after falling victim to profitability deficit after COVID. Would have been a bonus to onsite for quick access to food. Hopefully something is put back in soon! Overall a great stay!!

Came in from out of town with a booking confirmation directly through their website and front desk staff said my room was cancelled with no cancellation confirmation received from my end at all. Booked a room as a diamond member with a view, got the bottom floor and a view of the parking lot. Only good thing had been that the men here were great with helping with my bags as I’m injured. Cancelled the rest of the week as I paid for the view.

It took over 30mins to get my keys to my room after they took payment and everything was set up 2 days before arriving.. the room was ok nothing special for the price. We had friends stay there also and they had house coats in there room and wash and dryer witch we didnt. The outside of the hotel was run down looking. You can find a much nice hotel for 700.00 for 4 nights

My stay is great. Staff is excellent and friendly. The room is great has everything you need. My only complaint is the appliances are old and a few didn't work. Floors weren't cleaned after the last tenant. Overall a great stay.

Stayed 3 nights. It was a nice get away. A pretty good price at $230 a night and it was basically a 1 bedroom apartment, had a full kitchen with a dishwasher, livingroom with big windows with a nice view and a patio, laundry insuite, tv with basic cable, free wifi and tons of closet space. Nice and quiet.

  • 5/5 Braeden S. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing suites, big kitchen and living room. They have in suite laundry which was absolutely a bonus. The balconies are spacious some with gorgeous views of the mountain. Guilford Mall is only a block away. Unfortunately there was no restaurant at the hotel while I was staying but it does have a rooftop patio. Would definitely recommend stay here! Parking is a little tight at ground level, but there is underground parking for smaller vehicles

We stayed the 3rd floor. So run down and disgusting. It needs to paint, counters, blinds, wallpaper, moldings. Clearly has had many leaks. The view is of giant power boxes right outside our window with garage all around them. The walls were dirty with drip marks all down it. The room has a horrible smell to it / the fridge is gross. Can't believe Sandman would have their name behind this hotel.

We love the Sandman !!! Best stay experience! Friendly, respectful staff that not only goes above and beyond but your friend. Thank You Sandman Suites Surrey Guilford ❤

As described. Comfortable, roomy, clean and fully equipped. Secure basement parking a nice touch. Will stay again.

The concerige was friendly and efficient at booking a same day reservation during a heat wave craze. The room was spacious, clean and had a wonderful view. PSA: PET FRIENDLY options available but Moxies has left the building and there is no food service other than delivery.

Sandman Suites Surrey-Guildford stands out with their commitment: 'customer will be greeted with true Canadian hospitality, comfort, style, and affordability'. The two nights my family spent at the penthouse suite were just amazing. The staff was really friendly, especially the front desk manager, who is very flexible with our requests, the welcoming receptionist, and the hardworking housekeepers. The suite was clean and more spacious. With its lovely furnishings and gorgeous fireplace, it is really pleasant inside. Everything about it, even the polished kitchenware and the recently vacuumed carpet, is incredibly well-maintained. With all the necessities for a comfortable stay, it's perfect for a family of 4. We are looking forward to more future visits at Sandman! Guest on Dec. 22-24

My stay at Sandman Hotels is amazing after a flooding situation - this place is like home. My PH room is beautiful and very clean and the staff have been amazingly wonderful, friendly and gracious and have made my stay very pleasant. Special thank you to Joel, who helped me order pizza and took care of my order while I was in distress trying to get some things taken care off. Five stars all the way
