AVOID AVOID AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! The old chef was the rudest person I've ever encountered. When we told him that the lasagna was dry and old, he yelled loudly and immediately turned his back on us. They gave us sauce for it but microwaved it right in front of us. The salmon lox in the benedict was fishy, signalling that it was old. Mashed potatoes were HARD. We spent $50 on a meal that we couldn't even eat. Save your money and go somewhere else. It's dirty, old and not anything like it used to be.

Tastes like freedom, here. I will be back as often as I can to support this place. The meanies really stand out out, don't they? At least I can die happy knowing that I am not like them - that I am a compassionate and caring soul who believes in inclusivity for all. Including meanies. The food is home-style, large-portions and decent. They get 5 stars for standing up for our human rights under the law.

Awesome place! Good old! Unchanged over the years! Items are fine-dine kind! Price is way cheaper than high end restaurants! Quality is immaculate! Our go to place for brunch on lazy mornings! Acres of car parking! Free refills of coffee!

This is one of the first times I’ve gone here sober and in the daytime. This diner was a favourite late night dive for club kids and rockers alike. In the 90’s it would get packed and we would order the entire menu, the mushroom burger was my go to, but I was in the mood for a beef dip, and it did not disappoint. Big and beefy, the dip was rich and after going to culinary school I can tell the difference between powdered and the real deal. The back is like a hotel kitchen and the food is hotel quality..I have no problem giving my money to an iconic diner that still looks like it did decades ago and made it thru a Pandemic! Keep up the good food and you’ll be on Diners, Dives, and Drive Ins really soon!

Cafeteria self-serve restaurant. Prices aren't cheap, but the portions are ginormous, like 1.5-3 portions per plate depending on your appetite. Food is neither superb nor do I have anything bad to say, a solid 3.5 ⭐

Nice and spacious with a great assortment of items to choose from. An incredible bakery with outstanding baked goods. Lots of space and wheelchair access. I just tried my chili and it is spicy which I have never encountered while eating out. Love it!!!!

This is an old-school style restaurant with a full on cafeteria/bakery inside of it. There are a variety of different dishes that are available. The portions here are very, very large. Break and baked good from the bakery were very tasty. There is plenty of parking here and the older chef with the big had I presume to be the owner really does a good job running the line cooks. Overall great place to eat. You will not leave this place hungry.

Hidden gem. Do not let the outside or surrounding area deceive you! I went here a few years back and decided to stop by for a late brunch with my partner. My goodness. I am so grateful for the cashier at the till. She was so patient/helpful and suggested we share a plate. One corned beef hash and an order of blueberry pancakes split amongst 2 people was perfect. The corned beef hash was to DIE for and the portion was huge. Blueberry pancakes were also elite. You can really tell they put love into the food they make here and are all about taste. I love the vibe and how spacious it is inside. They have everything you need to access since it is a cafeteria-style experience (ice, water, cutlery, napkins, condiments). All of the employees were super friendly. Will definitely be going back!

Was referred to this place from some colleagues, and it sure didn't disappoint! Ordered the 12oz Steak and Eggs, and it was quite delicious; only complaint is that the steak was a bit salty (too much Montreal Steak Spice I believe), but it was cooked to perfection otherwise, along with everything else. Looking forward to going back, and trying their renown burgers! Prices were pretty good too - highly recommended, if you haven't been yet before :))

This place has been around for a long time. It's a great place for comfort food, large portions and reasonable prices. Great for families. They also have an in house bakery. Lots of seating as well. Pictures are of the burger special and a double mushroom burger.

This place is great. It’s a big diner with large food portions for fair prices. However, I don’t think you’ll find anything too healthy on the menu. MUST get is the mushroom burger but add extra patties. Have the mushrooms with the HP sauce. There is plenty of free parking and lots of indoor seating. It is like a cafeteria, so you line up and order right at the front and then came back to pick up or order when it’s ready. Do order gravy for your fries but if there are two or three of you, 1 order is enough. Best to know what you want to order before arriving so look at the menu ahead of time.

We got the Montreal poutine and the chicken kebab special. Foods good, but nothing special. Super disappointed with my “kebab” it had 3 chicken pieces and could be picked up from RCSS with the way it tasted. Made no sense to get garlic bread with it instead of roasted potatoes for a “Greek plate”. The poutine was good, a little too salty for me. I expected better portions from the reviews so sadly I won’t be back.

This place is legendary!! Nice big plates and great 80’s ambiance. I had the BLT and couldn’t finish all the French Fries. One of the unique things about this place is that they have a full production bakery in the back. The dessert cabinet features daily fresh slices of baked pies and full sized cakes if you wish to bring home some of that Fresgo inn deliciousness!!!

Ok heres the full honest review! If you love the 80s you'll find this place pretty cool! You walk in and its cafeteria style where you use a tray, select your drinks and desserts( to the left. ) We got the pink strawberry cheese cake slice and the regular cheesecake. Both very good!! Theres containers of toppings on the top shelf if you like berry topping. (You can also buy whole cakes in a different display.) Once you decide, you order off the boards to the cashier. She was friendly and took our order but reminded us they close at 8, ok good it was only maybe just 7:15. We picked our seats, the food came fast, and thought it was great as we still had half an hour to eat. We were shocked that the portions were so huge! The kitchen staff were nice and laughed with us when we were grabbing the plates. We ordered a double burger, small supreme sub, a side of mashed potatoes and gravy( the gravy is very good ) and the spaghetti and meat balls. Everything was really good! The music was all 80s which was nostalgic, a tad loud but made you feel like you were eating burgers at an old rollar skate rink! We were really enjoying ourselves....until about 7:40 when they started rushing about, closing everything up. Ok fine, but out of no where the main lights got shut off as the customers we were all still dining maybe 3 other tables and ours. Huh they shut the main lights off???...WHILE WE WERE STILL EATING! lol What the heck? We thought it was a mistake as people are eating, it was much darker and not subtle! Nope is was intentional. lol We were kinda shocked and tried to laugh it off as it was a friday night and we got the not subtle hint and it wasnt 8. To make it worse a lady literally came up to our table with a trolley and literally stood BESIDE OUR TABLE!! Clearing each plate as we ate, waiting, one by one...stood there... lol Essentially forcing us to leave before we even finished because we were so uncomfortable. I went and bought some to go containers up at the front and packed up our food. A few min later I went to the washroom for maybe 2-3 min came out and the restaurant was completely empty!!!! It wasnt even 8 o'clock yet and the other lights we all off except the kitchen, where one guy was cleaning up. I looked at my cell for the time thinking did we over stay? Im always respectful of time it wasnt even 8. I couldnt believe all the staff was gone and I was in the dark and the gate was almost across the door. Lol Its a huge restaurant and there were other customers, But gone already?! Was weird. It was soooo awkward and totally ruined our enjoyment and the first initial impression of how cool we thought this place was with decent food. We spent $86 and tipped well, $17 dollars in a casual place where we, order, seat ourselves, then grab our own food up at the counter style place. Over all we'd like to go back and try more items, JUST DONT GO AT CLOSING. It was INCREDIBLY RUDE honestly. We dine out a lot, and I like doing food reviews but never have had this experience in any restaurant everrrr. Lol I HIGHLY suggest they change the closing practice to at least start it AT 8pm with the lights, music and clean up. I get you want to go home. Ive worked in food and in retail so I get it, especially with lingering customers. We werent. It was so off putting to the point it was bluntly rude. In todays era of online reviews and people looking for different places to try in not just food but the customer experience, even if in an old dinner, this place REALLY needs some customer appreciation put in thought before the hours of closing at 8pm. We spent a lot, tipped well and were on time being respectful of closing time. We had a good 15min still at least to finish our dessert. I had to pack it and take it home. We will try it here again but thought an honest review and experience might help the business keep more customers as I love to support mom and pop shops and support local. As a former business owner myself I'd want to know. Overall, worth trying it here if you like old school food and atmosphere!

The fish burger did not have any taste except the bun. It smelled and tasted probably like cod that was in the freezer for sometime. Fries were good alongwith the pop from the machine. The only thing good was that the order came in pretty fast. I have tried the pizza earlier which was pretty good in taste as well. But this time it just lacked any flavor and specially for the amount you pay i could have had a decent burger nearby for less than what I paid.

Dont waste your time with this place. As other reviewers noted, the food use to be very good but for whatever reason the food is so flavorless it tastes like it was boiled. Portions are small now yet prices are up. The day I went the washroom was dirty which might reflect the cleanliness of the kitchen. Walter the cook needs to be replaced and lower the prices.

Thank you so much for being so welcoming! This was my first time at your restaurant and I must say it was fantastic from the customer service, to the vibe of cool people in the restaurant and last but not least the food. It was lovely to sit down and enjoy an energy of many like minded people and to feel welcomed. In today's age great customer service is hard to find and I will be back again! Thank you I am glad I found this little gem for breakfast. I'll always be sure to leave a raving review for any establishment providing exceptional and welcoming customer service. Thank you!

Went here with a friend. The food is pretty good and they make it fast. It’s not the best food you’ll ever eat but it’s still great. It’s really great portions and gives you a old time diner experience. Pop bottomless and the prices are good.

Large portions prepared fresh to order! Their Philly Cheesesteak sub is to die for and the mushroom burger, a classic! Pictured is a roast turkey dinner split in two, even comes with pumpkin pie!

Went there today. Got the weekend Prime Rib special. Was pleasantly surprised. For 28 bux and the portions were fab. Couldn’t finish. And looking at other diners plates, large portions seem to be the norm. Will be returning.

Located in a quiet place in Surrey, this is like a hidden gem. If you are looking for huge portions, this is the place to go. It is like a cafeteria/dinner. There are plenty of seats and the atmosphere is quite laidback. We ordered the menu of the day which is the kebab plate with salad and garlic bread plus a omelette with toast. It did not disappoint. If you plan to take away the leftover, take note that the containers are chargeable though. They also have a cake shop in the corner and they sell whole and per slice.

This place is special to me because it gives me strong nostalgia of diners from the past. This diner has massive food portions, massive house made cakes and massive food selections. Everything is fresh made to order. I had the mushroom burger, meat pizza and poutine. The pizza was pretty decent for the type of crust and toppings were loaded on. The poutine was very good, nice amount of saltiness, cheese properly melted and decent fries that held its freshness. The mushroom burger was amazing, they loaded up the mushrooms and the patty was huge. Food was tasty, portions were large and price was a bargain. Absolutely nothing to complain about here. If you like old diners this place is a must try.

This is a place we visit every time we are in Surrey. The best place for fried liver bacon and onions. Comes with garlic bread, vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy. Huge portions at very reasonable prices. Place is fairly clean, and feels like you walked into a 1980s cafeteria. Furniture is dated but staff are friendly and quick. This is a place for very good basic, well priced meals. We have never finished our meals there and it is very easy to take remainder home for next day. My photo shows I requested extra vegetables instead of mashed potatoes.

I've not been at Fesgo Inn since the 70's & early 80's when Walter and his famous Fresgo Inn was on Robson Street. Now, 2022 here with dad & D at the Surrey, BC location. Dad had the famous Mushroom Burger, D had the Breakfast Special and I had the Philly Steak Sandwich w/ Fries. We also got the famous Cheese Cake & Lemon Meringue Pie. All the deserts, 1/2 of Dads Mushroom Burger and my Philli Steak are for dinner tonight. Walter is still cooking and spoke with dad and myself. A happy trip down memory lane.

Huge portion of good quality food, all without needing the papers. Been going to another breakfast place every weekend for years, but no longer. Thanks Fresgo for standing strong on your beliefs and the freedom of others, all others should take note.

I tried to visit this place 2 times. First time I came in the evening and it seemed scary as it’s located off the road, it was really dark n it looked not like cafe n restaurant, more like a canteen, I was alone so I wasn’t sure what kinda crowd they have at that hour. I decided not to go. After some time , I decided to give it a chance as ratings were good. It’s just on King George, parking is free and have spots to park in front of a place. Second time, I came in the afternoon and had mushroom burger n coffee (u buy a glass n u can come to a counter n pour n add how much needed) They have just Americano with milk or cream, but no cappuccino or lattes. The burger was delicious n huge portion. Prices are very reasonable. They have an impressive variety of options ( salads , sides, main dishes, breakfast) I give 4* star just for the ambiance as it was more kinda bistro with tasty food when u come, eat n go rather than a place where u can enjoy sitting n sipping your coffee.

We picked up dinner to go tonight. The spaghetti and the schnitzel were generous portion sizes but the fish in the fish and chips were disapointingly small. The black forest cake was excellent

Awesome sub. Huge portion and fresh. Not sure how political statements about private medical information can be considered legitimate reviews of a restaurant's food and service...
