What a fantastic sushi spot! The ambiance is lovely, so I highly recommend dining in. The food was fresh and delicious, with generous portions, AND sliced correctly (no gagging on ultra thick sashimi here). The lunch bentos were an excellent value; they come with a special of the day (it was a salmon cake when we dined there). *TIP* They swap out the special for agedashi tofu in the vegetarian bento, so if you're not interested in whatever it is when you go, you could probably ask for the tofu instead. Tea was very nice, in a good sized (and cute!) mug, and they kept it coming 😁 Service was great as well, and everything came very quickly. Bottom line: this is my new favourite sushi spot in North Delta/Surrey. 🍣🍱🏯

The best sushi in Delta/Surrey! Very friendly staff and ownership. Been coming here for years and would highly recommend! Must try rolls with black rice and the Donburi!

Ordered takeout here again, delicious sushi! We got a bunch of different rolls that they put into one big platter. The tempura is so good, it wasn't overly breaded, just enough, making it crunchy and tasty!

Really nice little cozy restaurant. You can get your own little cabin dining, super private. The sushi was flavorful. We try the BC roll, salmon roll and seafood ramen. The ramen had a variety of seafood in it, really delicious. The cost was reasonable too.

Friendly staff in this cosy neighbourhood restaurant, tables and tatami rooms. Booking on-line is easy. Vaccine passport/photo ID checked. Menu is large so we ordered far too much. Everything was delicious and nicely presented. Highly recommend the Awesome Roll- crunchy bits and popcorn shrimp, suits the name. Tea refilled a few times. Over the 20+ years, we’ve eaten in and gotten take-out many times and quality is consistent. Located in a strip mall (Scott/72nd) with ample parking.

This place has been in business for over a decade. Despite not changing much, the interior still feels up to date and comfortable. The staff are always friendly, and there are rooms available if you want more privacy. The spicy delight is a must-try! The fish was fresh and decently portioned. I'm very glad that Akari is still in business, and I hope they continue to be for a long time.

Great Japanese restaurant. They have fast service too. Besides that, their servings are huge. Food was served fast and it was all filling. I love Salmon Kama and I think they make the best one too. We will surely be back!

Very nice Japanese restaurant, the tempuras are well made, one of the best I had; beef udon (did not took photo of it) are nice as well. I would recommend cooked dishes over sashimi although their sashimi are nice, but more on the average sides.

It's the place my husband has been going to since he was a child, so for about 20 years. It's his family favorite and we had to visit it during our visit to Canada. I ordered a miso soup, a couple of tobiko nigiris, appetizer tempura, and toro sashimi. My husband ordered a miso as well, sunomono, and a chicken teriyaki donburi. The food was good, fresh. My husband liked sunomono a lot, I like everything I ordered. Shrimp tempura was crisp and batter was thin, so food quality is around 4-5 stars. The reason I gave 3 stars is service issues we experienced and a bit high pricing. Toro sashimi was $18 for 7 thin slices, rolls and nigiri pieces are priced on the upper end for this type of food. Portions are in general smaller than in other sushi restaurants we've been to in Vancouver area. It seems like our bill does not reflect the amount of food we ordered. As for service, we were not offered any drinks upon arrival, so when ordering we asked for tea and it was not refilled until we got a bill and asked for a refill. The place is pretty cold, probably AC is running too high - it may be a good idea to get a sweater if you want to dine in. Another issue with service was the food prep time. Chicken teriyaki donburi took about 35 minutes to make and by the time it was served to my husband I've already finished all my food and he's been done with his appetizers for about 20 minutes. It would be great if food prep times were a bit more coordinated. Overall, the place is nice. Food quality is consistent. They have individual rooms and ordinary tables. We'll probably be back here again to capture some childhood memories :) Oh, and sorry there are almost no photos. We both were really really hungry.

Loved the food, very fresh, service was great 💕I had Agedashi Tofu and Veggie Gyoza with Miso Soup. I would give five stars to every dish.

This place is busy. Reasonably priced. Customer service was good but not excellent. Hard to call waiter’s attention. We had to get up and no one checks in on us. The food was fresh except for the stir fry veggies and black rice. The veggies was overdone and the rice was dry and obviously not freshly cooked. Otherwise the chicken and tofu teriyaki and the prawn tempura were perfectly cooked. It’s a good hang out place for family and friends.

Enjoyed dinner here as it’s one of the few Japanese restaurants that still does a seafood version of the motoyaki. I liked that they added spinach in it as that was different, however I wish there was more seafood. There was only a few bits of scallop and shrimp. As for the rolls they were nice and fresh, everything tasted good and the server was very attentive. Portions were decent and not too small or too big. They have booths but we sat at a table as the booths were all reserved. However, they aren’t tatami rooms just booths with a private curtain.

Somehow had cravings for sashimi so decided to give this place a try! The rainbow roll was pretty good, better than I expected! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Overall It was just like average sushi places, sizes are good, price is ok, and taste fresh. Recommend for casual dinners.

We like the place, especially the private booths. But I was quite disappointed at the dish I ordered, Oyako Don. I've had it at other Japanese restaurants and it's usually a no-fail dish, with chicken, egg and onions on top of rice. This one was drowning in sauce...as if it was a soup. After a few bites I spooned out all the sauce so I can try to finish the food, but the rice had already absorbed too much sauce.

first time trying as the reviews were above the average. basic menu with no really good options, tasteless rice, the soy sauce has water in, sushi portions on special rolls (which still basic) are made for someone with a HUGE mouth, can't even taste the ingredients... at the end I was full but not happy if you know what I mean.

My new favorite sushi place in Surrey. I've ordered in many times but it's not the same as eating it fresh. So good! The service was also very good. The fantastic roll was indeed fantastic. The wild salmon sashimi was so fresh. The cream cheese salmon roll was well balanced, probably the best version I've had of it anywhere. This comes from a person that grew up in Richmond and knows sushi 😀. The prawn tempura was nice a crunchy with a light breading just the way I like. Will be back soon to try more items!

Wow amazing sushi. New go to place in delta. Ordered on skip and it is honestly the best takeout sushi I have had in years So fresh and flavorful. The spicy tiny roll was perfect in every way. I will most definitely be ordering from here again 👍

We visit first time couple of months ago. It was good experience. Second time experience was very bad. Waiter should be more trained and customer oriented. Waiter didn't explained the food. It was all raw fish. We expected the rolls. Anyway, not impressed at all. We are not going again.
