Japanese owned and operated sushi spot on New West. We really like the Uni Ikura Don, and the Aji Tataki was also delicious. All the nigiri we ordered were great as well. Service was also very nice!

This is definitely a hidden gem in New West! The best in town and it may be even better than a lot of Japanese restaurants in other cities. When I rate a restaurant, I always look at the quality of food first. Pricing, presentation of the dishes, ambiance and customer service are secondary. Oh man! The food was so good that I would love to eat more and always want to visit the restaurant again. This restaurant is owned and run by Japanese people. I know some Japanese restaurants in Lower Mainland are running by Korean, Chinese or even other ethnicities. This Japanese restaurant is located in New West. I was surprised that Japanese customers would come out here and eat at this restaurant at this location. We ordered a house roll, clam miso soup, chawanmushi, beef tataki, fried oysters, and deluxe assorted sushi. Their raw fish was very fresh. The seaweed wrapping the sushi was one that I did not have to chew for a long time. Some seaweed are very chewy that my teeth could not separate it. The clam miso soup was full of clams. The restaurant was not stingy on giving out clams. I had clam miso soup elsewhere. There was only a few clams in the soup. The house roll and deluxe assorted sushi were excellent. The house roll was very big but the ingredients did not fall apart. The presentation and the quality of the deluxe assorted sushi were extraordinary that every single piece of the sushi was fresh and tasty. The chef put a little bit of wasabi in each piece of sushi, so the dish did not come with wasabi. Again I always ask people to come and try the food. Don't just read my review. :D I loved chawanmushi. Some chawanmushi at other Japanese restaurants might not be good but they charged a high price. Here they put many ingredients in chawanmushi that every single spoon of chawanmushi was delicious. I am drooling even though I am writing about the food here. I should definitely go back to the restaurant and try other dishes soon. Two last good things I would like to mention were the customer service and parking. The servers were extremely polite and respectful to customers. There is a big parking lot right outside the restaurant that you don't need to worry about parking. If the parking lot is full, you can park on street in the residential area.

Very delicious and fresh sushi! You can definitely taste the quality. The servers are very friendly. Overall great experience. A very small place, recommend to book a reservation! I would definitely keep coming back.

Perhaps one of the best authentic Japanese meals we have had recently. You will find some unique and traditional Japanese dishes here that many Japanese restaurants will not carry nowadays: real tobiko, ikura, masago, anago, aji, etc. They were fresh and sweet. We ordered these in the form of temaki sushi. I couldn't believe that how generous that they put the tobiko, ikura on top! It was a real deal for me. The wasabi is made of the real one, not the mimic horseradish. The staffs were really friendly. I understand the frustration that some of the other reviewers expressed - e.g. minimum charge of $15 per person. When you have kiddos it seems unreasonable. However, for two of us, we easy ate over $80 there (ate too much, now groaning), the $15/p seems not a difficult thing. My favourite: tori karaage (fried Juicy boneless chicken), Tobiko nigiri sushi (flying fish roes), masago nigiri sushi (smelt fish roes), aji butterly fries, dragon rolls.

We have been coming here for a sushi night out for years. There are various favourites on the menu and we have never had a complaint. The staff is very friendly and there's lots of parking out front. Heads-up... It is a smaller venue so call ahead just in case they are experiencing a rush.

They have a good variety of sushi choices on their menu but I found their sushi rice lacked the usual plumpness, sweetness, and vinegar flavor other places have. The sushi was not bad, but overall, quite average. For the price you pay, I have had nicer and tastier sushi at the same price or cheaper. It still does the job of satisfying a sushi craving though. Like a standard neighborhood sushi place.

A small and cozy place for comforting Japanese food with a homemade feel. The staff are Japanese and make everyone feel welcome with their friendliness and hospitality. The sushi is quite good and they have a good variety of rolls, nigiri, and appetizers!

Amazing quality! I love going here. You can tell they care about the food they serve, and their customers, whether you order takeout or dine-in. My go-to is their deluxe assorted sushi that comes with 9 nigiri pieces and tekka maki. Each piece just bursts with a delicious briny flavour

Perfect sushi rice and flavors every time . Bestest sushi restaurant in New West. Really love Ikoi sushi and such a hidden gem. Wish I came here years ago. Ikoi sushi has always been consistently great. My kids love Ikoi sushi💞 their dynamite roll is outstanding-I’ve never had a stale shrimp tempura, their dynamite roll has consistently been crunchy. Please keep up the great work. Such a treat to be able to pick up great sushi so close to home! You guys rock !

This is our new neighborhood go-to sushi place for takeout, and sometimes dine in (required reservation). It's small inside, but the food is fresh, tasty, and superior to some of the chain sushi restaurants we've visited in the past. The Japanese staff are friendly and efficient. They have new menu specials often. While not cheap, the value is there if you want a satisfying meal every time... and still a better deal than other types of cuisine for a family of 4! Consistently excellent. Ikoi is tucked away in a tiny New West shopping plaza next to Chicko Chicken and Papa Leo pizza. My family gets takeaway from here every few weeks, and dine in every few months.

A Japanese restaurant run by Japanese people. It was sober, quiet, and clean. Since it is a family business, we believe that unwavering food will always be provided. And the quality service was great enough to go through the cold.

2021 Aug - came back after 2 years and I have to give it to the chef and staff for making such amazing sushi. This is a Japanese owned and operated restaurant. Thank you again! We will be back but not 2 years and hopefully soon.

Very expensive. Very mediocre food. Poor menu selection. Unreasonable dine in rule. $15. Per person minimum for dine in. 3 at table 2 ordered well over $15. 3rd was told that had to spend $15. More interested in charging the minimum than gaining new customers. Terrible experience. Will never eat here again.
