First time we tried Barcelos at the food court, we loved it and wanted to try the food properly in restaurant set up. This location definitely was worth the go as the place has ample parkings and tables. We normally go to Nando’s but actually found Barcolos chicken even better. We ordered bery peri level spiciness and it wasn’t actually spicy. Nonetheless sauce was very good. Portions are good as well as the sides. If you like barbecue charcoaled grilled tasting chicken, Barcelos is definitely a must try. We would definitely return.

Came in here for lunch & the atmosphere was very cozy, I could’ve sat there for hours. Everything was spotless, including the restroom. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I loved the big open windows, allowing me to look outside and just people watch. The music was a vibe, not sure if it was Portuguese music but it fit the atmosphere. Lastly, the food. It was so fresh, so good. My chicken kabob was succulent and had a nice char that enhanced that grilled taste. I got supa peri spice level (eat at your own risk). The cauliflower bites were a generous portion & very crispy. The garlic bread was fresh, buttery & garlicky. I am already craving everything again. The sides are very generous. I will definitely be back to enjoy very soon…and this time will be getting wine with it! UPDATE!!! It’s been 2 days and I already went back for my Barcelos fix! As promised, got wine with it (see pic)

I am very disappointed with the service, quality of food, and value. When I walked in to pick up my online order, the female at the cashier did not greet me nor smile. I was missing Fries from my order so had to wait a few more minutes which was fine but there was no apology at all. When I came home, the Large Fries which I paid $8.95 for was not even full. It was only 2/3 full. Chickens were cold, dry, and not flavorful. Coleslaw was good. Corn was very small. Overall, bad value (not worth $80), poor service and low quality of food. Nando's is way better. I will not be returning to Barcelos based on this visit.

Definitely the BEST CHICKEN! The serving is generous, the place is clean and spacious, the service . just superb! We are definitely coming back!

First time eating in this restaraunt , so happy i did . The food was absolutly fantastic !! I ordered the chicken stirfry and it was cooked perfectly and everything was cooked fesh right after i ordered it My wife ordered a steak roll and again absolutly beautiful!! With pefectly done yam fries as a side with chipotle mayo dip .my 6 yo son got a basic burger and fries and even that was fantastic ! If i could give this place 10 stars i would , i am definatly coming back for more of this life changing food !

I bought 2 whole chicken with sides. Each chicken was packed separately. Each was missing chunks. E.g single upper quarter in each pack.This is very different from my experience with other branches, and a very unpleasant experience. Ensure you peek into your to-go-pack before leaving with orders from here!

The experience was not great. Ordered their Leg and Thigh 2 piece portion. Super Oily and Greasy and appeared that it was just basted with Supa Peri flavor. No care on how the chicken should be grilled with less greasiness. Gave me stomach ache. It was my first time trying theirs. Nandos has been my go to always and look like I will stick to Nandos only....

This is a really good place for BBQ, especially chicken. Started coming here for their pandemic takeout specials, and have now started dining in. The flavors are awesome, service is fast and prices are acceptable. This is now one of the standard choices for a restaurant dinner on short notice

Sorry Barcelos but Nando’s chicken is superior. The periperi chicken was dry and lacked flavor no flame grilled flavour. No where near how great Nando’s tastes. Bought a whole chicken for my family and we couldn’t finish it. The leftover were fed to the trash because no one wanted to eat it. That’s never a problem with Nando’s. The sides however were not bad. The garlic bread was yummy and grilled veggies were very tasty, I would eat the veggies again but only that. All in all Nando’s > Barcelos.

Ordered their special Deal whole chicken with 2 sides and 2 drinks in $24.99. Food was so good we ordered medium hot flavor with regular fries and peri fries. Order came in really quick. Ambiance was so beautiful. Staff was so nice, friendly and attending their customers really well.

This is one of my favourite place i love to eat burger pita and wrap there.the service is good. When ever i order other couple of minutes my order is on my table love to eat garlic bread too. Service is fast the guys of barcelos are good . I am greatful to them.☺️

This is one of our go to place since we move in to BC. Atmosphere, ambiance, food, presentation, and service all are top notch. Flame grilled chicken are the best. The servers are very friendly, courteous, very helpful, and accommodating. Keep up the good work, folks. The particular location in Guildford stays open late until 10 PM.

Was surprised at how comfy the place is. Beautifully decorated and had a welcoming vibe. No pressure to eat fast or leave. I ordered the Peri Plate #2 just so I can try all the different chicken dishes they had. Chicken was juicy and delicious when paired up with the Peri dip! Big fan of the wings and 1/4 leg. I didn't care too much for their kabobs (not a fan of white meat in general). Service was super friendly. We picked a seat and then ordered upfront. The server delivered our meal and would come check on us once inwhile.

The food here is not bad. I ordered last week and google said that barcelos was VERY BUSY. went in to get my food and it was dead inside. STRANGE… Besides that the chicken was OKAY. Not the taste, but the actual quality of the chicken. Semi-questionable. Just like the Chicken sand which. That one I can never eat again, the chicken is just weird. Not sure if I will come back here.

We ordered from this location for an event for approx 90 people at our home. When the food was delivered, it was warm, fresh and plentiful. We asked the owner on his opinion about the menu for the amount of people we were having and what was delivered did not disappoint. There was an abundance of left overs. The service was amazing. From the first phone call to even a follow up call by the owner to ensure everything that was delivered met our expectations. The experience, I can say was beyond what we were expecting. I will definitely be ordering from here again and would recommend to everyone.

The staff person (probably the manager) verbally confirmed that their chicken is halal, we asked why don't you display Halal sign on the door and he replied that in order to do that they need to have official certification from BCMA, which they haven't pursued. The grilled chicken along with a variety of three sauces especially the tangy one was great.

Food was good. However, when we ordered takeout the staff quoted us 15 mins and they were out of chicken thighs so we waited another 25 mins for fresh chicken thighs but they gave us wings instead. Not happy about being lied to and given something we didn't order. Truly not a great experience. Probably won't be back

This is such an underrated restaurant! It's Super clean, the staff are very nice and polite, has alot of places to sit and eat, and the best part is how good the food tastes. All of their meals are halal as well.

If you are in Surrey near Guilford town Center and craving grilled/bbq chicken “Barcelos” is the place you should go!! I tried their 1/2 chicken and it’s the best grilled chicken I’ve ever had, they marinate their chicken for 24hrs before grilling it. Their Peri sauces are so delicious doesn’t matter what level of spice you choose. Servcie is top-notch! I highly recommend this place

Delicious, fair portions, relaxing ambiance! Barcelos tastes great, and in my opinion, offers better value for your dollar than other grilled chicken places! A group of friends and I decided to eat out after playing in a volleyball tournament. Needless to say, we were quite hungry and wanted something savoury and satisfying. When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was how spacious the restaurant was! We ordered the Super Family Pack (2 Whole Chicken, 3 Large Sides, 4 Rolls or Garlic Toast). Everything was served in a timely manner and the chicken was juicy, tender, and flavourful. Peri fries were crispy and the garlic toast was scrumptious! The portions were filling us 4-5 adults and we still had some to take home afterwards. Overall, we all enjoyed our meal and would definitely return again.
