To start, we had difficulty making reservations even 2 weeks in advance. We lucked out same day and scored an 11:45 pm seating. The dining area was complete chaos with no social distance and a room full of sugar-high kids. Service was slow and the menu lacked variety beyond sundaes and frozen hot chocolate (milkshakes). My daughter ordered strawberries and cream, which was a glass of syrup with a few strawberries, covered in whipped cream. It was about $15. Absurd. My husband’s apple pie (a la mode) was nearly frozen - delicious, but not warmed at all. Because it was so late, and cold, we hoped to get hot cocoa and coffee…but bad news, the only hot drinks on the menu are tea. And the iced coffee we ordered was not sweetened, so they offered sugar separate, but it sure didn’t melt into the iced coffee. Just underwhelmed with our experience, as we expected more given all the hype.

You and your kids will love this place! It’s a cute restaurant with a bunch of random decor that really adds a unique vibe. Upon entering, we were greeted and taken care of by very kind waiters throughout our dining experience. The food is definitely a bit pricier however, they are delicious. There’s a lot of hype over their desserts yet the food is just as great! The buffalo chicken sandwich and the frozen white chocolate is worth the try! Portion is also very large and filling so expect to take some left overs home. Everyone will have a great time here. From the food, to the service, all the way to the restaurant vibe, everything was a complete hit!

Went there for my daughters 11th birthday after she requested a “fancy restaurant that sells burgers”. I made reservations for 7pm. We arrived a few minutes early and didn’t have to wait long to be seated. The hostess was really nice. They ask for proof of vaccination at the door (including minors). We had Leslie as our waitress and she went above and beyond for us, she definitely made my daughters day extra special. Shout out to her! The food was amazing also! We all had a great time and will make sure to be back again.

Food is way over priced for just basic food. Drinks were strong. Atmosphere was cute. We made reservations and went in right in after pilates class next door. Service was friendly. If you feel you need to come here maybe just come for their sweet treats.

I normally don't go to places just for dessert, but man this place was incredible. If you have a sweet tooth, come here. Plain and simple! It's expensive I must admit, but well worth the price of admission. The freaking pecan pie is the best I've ever had, period. Come eat here, stop reading this and go eat some dessert trust me.

A very popular and iconic little restaurant. Delicious desserts, and wonderfully unique atmosphere. Be prepared for a wait as this place is often quite busy, but it really is worth waiting for. The potions are huge. The frrrozen hot chocolate is a must try!

Went for dessert after dinner. Love this place. Must get the frozen hot chocolate. However, I think the size has shrunk over the years. Still delicious tho. There was a minimum per person. Didn’t want to order another sweet item so we ordered fries which was fine.

It’s hard for me to give 5 star reviews on restaurants. I heard about this place and the frozen hot chocolate. We came here for our last night in NYC I wasn’t disappointed. Good comfort food and the frozen hot chocolate was great. The only disappointment I had was the sign on the door minimum charge of 18.95 per person. But I guess if you got the business, you can do that. I have ate at a lot of restaurants and you want people to feel at home and enjoy themselves. But never the less I will return if ever in NYC.

Serendipity is a staple New York City dessert and dinner diner! It’s known for its over the top food items and of course the frozen hot chocolate. Everything on the menu is price where everyone in your group is about to spend 50$ or more so just prepare your wallets. Other than that, it’s fun the music is cute, bathroom decor and restaurant decor is fun for all ages. I recommend making a reservation for you and your group! But yes definitely recommend getting the frozen hot chocolate, I personally love mint! So that’s what I ordered. I do want to come back, and get some food items or maybe order a sundae, and other ice cream delights!

I visited this place on a Friday afternoon, walked in without a reservation and they were very accommodating. We had a vegan burger with onion rings, cauliflower and Mac and cheese. Burger was good, rest of them were just okay. Food is average and I wouldn’t go back for that price. Desserts are good. Frozen chocolate is one of the best I have had.

Grabbed a bite to eat after watching a show. My friend had the fries which were yummy, I had the Mac & cheese and a frozen hot chocolate. Everything we had was delicious and the service was very prompt & friendly! Such a unique and fun restaurant.

this place is a tourist trap and trap for parents! They have a $18.95 minimum spending per person. The food is overpriced and the quality of the food does not suffice the cost. Their popular frozen hot chocolate is 85% whipped cream for $18.95! The chicken and waffle was outrageously priced at $27 and the waffle tasted like cardboard. There were dirty chairs that hadn't been cleaned and one of my friend didn't see it and sat on colorful sticky cotton candy. The music was so loud we could barely hear each other. What a horrible experience and waste of our time and money!!

You need a reservation unless you want to put down your name leave for an hour and come back! It's a small place and was packed when we went! The bacon Mac and cheese was amazing!!! My husband had the bacon BBQ burger and he enjoyed it!! You have to have the frozen hot chocolate which they are known for it was also amazing, but definitely can be shared it is large!! Quick friendly service as well!!

Such a fun experience!! Went with my wife and pre-teen son, and we had such a great time. The desserts were incredible, and the entire experience was a highlight of our trip. I ordered the "Big Apple" Pie A La Mode (closest to me) and my wife ordered the Frozen Hot Chocolate (their signature dessert). My son ordered the Forbidden Broadway Sundae, and that by itself would've been enough for all 3 of us. Each dessert was not only a HUGE portion, but delicious as well. It's hard to say which was my favorite, but if I were to go back I would probably get the Frozen Hot Chocolate for myself (even though the Big Apple Pie a la Mode was legit amazing).

Serendipity 3 was a great experience. It’s best to have a reservation because it’s a popular location; however, the service was fast and friendly once we were seated. The food was tasty. No doubt, the food is expensive. You’ll pay more for every type of food here than you would at most other places. However, you’re certainly paying for the experience, too. While the food was pricey, we were giving heaping proportions. We weren’t able to finish everything! Based on the quality, amount, and atmosphere, it was worth the price, and we’d likely return.

A classic must-do NYC experience. Festive and lively. Food is good and the desserts are great. Reservations recommended, and if you can't get a table ahead of your trip, try the day of. We had lots of options the day we were in town. It's very crowded and there is no room to wait inside, so it's very cold in the winter, waiting outside. We were seated right at our reservation time. Staff were friendly and service was great.

One of the most charming restaurants I have seen. Decor is very fun and whimsical. My daughter got the Wicked frozen hot chocolate and ate as much as she could. She described it as "the best thing she ever ate." Went without a reservation and got in after a 15 min wait. Staff was terrific.

Absolutely amazing place.. The ambience and the decor is top notch.. The serving size is really large and difficult for a person to finish by oneself.. The staff is very courteous.. Loved the place.

I recently visited Serendipity 3 in NYC and wanted to share my thoughts. The food and desserts were decent, though I wouldn't say they were the best I've had. However, my overall experience was less than ideal. The main issue was the seating arrangement – the tables were packed so tightly together that it was uncomfortable. We found ourselves constantly being careful not to bump into the neighboring table whenever we moved or needed to walk to the restroom. This was especially challenging after having waited an hour to be seated; we were hoping for a more relaxing and spacious dining environment. While the food was good, the lack of comfort in seating took away from the experience.

Love! love!! love!!! Their frozen hot chocolate 😋😋😋. It was delicious the dessert, the waffles, the fries were all great. Make sure to get a reservation just so you don't have to wait outside.

Just loved it! Great food ! Worth the wait. Not bad with reservations. Frozen hot chocolate is a must. It does come in different flavors such as peanut butter chocolate and more. Pretty decoration. Ice cream land. Love it 😀

Coming here was a product of chance. I never intended to come here but after disembarking from the Q32 after crossing the Ed Koch bridge I saw that there wasn't many people inside. I decided to try entering even though I had no reservation. Fortunately I was able to get in and get a Drug Store Sundae. It felt good to let the inner child in me out and on occasion it's good for every hard working adult to do likewise.

The place is cute and has a nice atmosphere. It's a bit overpriced for the menu and quality of the food, and I must add you're also paying for the experience. I ordered the Veggie Burger and it was really good! The Frrrozen Hot Chocolate of course steals the show! So delicious!!!❤

A must stop in NYC for a one of a kind experience! Serendipity has an incredible menu, but you have to stop by for their desserts. Very kid friendly too! The banana split was absolutely delicious - you might need more than 2 people to help finish it :)

My niece loves this place, I usually take her every year. Today was a bit of a disappointment, however. The waitress was amazing attentive, especially considering all the tables she was servicing. We ordered the frozen hot chocolate, but we were highly disappointed. It was melting so much, not frozen almost to the point of being soupy. You can see it from the photos, how it was just leaking over the edge of the bowl. Waitress great. Food good. Dessert bad ending.

I think this place would have been better if the tables weren't so close together 🤔 and there were more than two bathrooms. I get you are trying to maximize the space, but people are willing to wait online in the all-weather conditions and make reservations to eat at your establishment (I suggest reservations only people). The time to wait for food was somewhat okay. We got our appetizers, but maybe 10 minutes after that, our entrées came out, so there was no space on the table for everything. The portions, though, were surprisingly larger than expected. We got appetizers because we thought all were going to be small plates, but boy, were we in for a treat ( see the pictures, no Zoom in needed). Overall, my daughter wasn't impressed, and we won't be back, but for those who like that sort of vibe, go for it!!!

We went to Sp3 for just deserts and they lived up to the hype. The portion sizes are huge so one sundae will server for three people approx. Please ask recommendations from the server to avoid food wastage! We were 5 people and ordered one of their famous hot chocolate, a chocolate sundae and a coffee + some fries to come back from the sugar rush in the end and that was perfect.

We had lots of fun here for my daughter’s birthday. Our server was excellent (Michael) and the foods was very tasty. I regret that we weren’t hungry enough for a big dessert! THe decor is fun. It would be nice if the music was a bit quieter - We were shouting to hear each other. Definitely an iconic NYC experience.

Wow! I've wanted to come here since I was little. We brought our daughter to celebrate her 15th birthday. The service was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so nice and attentive. The food was delicious! We ordered drinks, the Thai peanut salad with chicken, Grandma's chicken sandwich with loaded fries, a cheeseburger, and a black truffle burger with bacon. The burgers were absolutely delicious and well seasoned. The Thai salad was so good! The chicken sandwich had a really tasty sauce on it. It was very crispy and the chicken was juicy. The loaded french fries were really good too. We had to order the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate too! That was so good! The whipped cream was thick and had great flavor. The frozen hot chocolate was so rich and creamy. A must have if you visit!

A fabulous experience! The servers were fantastic, nothing was too much and they were all super friendly. And the food?! Wonderful. We ate Bacon Mac, an American Cheese Burger and a Foot Long Hot Dog between four of us, plus a Frrrrrozen Hot Chocolate and a Banana Split. We had a marvellous time, and would go back in a heartbeat!

This place is a must stop! Especially if you're celebrating a birthday or just want an over-the-top fabulous dessert! Burger was cooked to order, medium rare perfection. It was massive, but not too messy, just right. That's an art form this establishment has mastered. The mac-n-cheese was great, but almost too much cheese - like there's even such a thing. Then the dessert... extraordinary! Frrrozen hot chocolate is to die for! Everything on the dessert menu sounded so awesome, it was hard to pick. But of course I had to try what this place was so famous for! Bring an appetite, you won't leave hungry.

An absolute MUST visit for big kids and young kids alike. This place is fun, vibrant and adorable. I’d heard about the famous frozen hot chocolate, BUT the fries are also incredible. Definitely shareable. Place is not very big and it can get very busy. Still definitely worth the visit. Can’t wait to come back!

The ice cream and cake were a great start to my day. Atmosphere of the place was very friendly and just kind in general. It can be a bit pricey but it isn’t pricey to the point where it would bankrupt you but it’s expected considering the restaurant is in several movies such as one of my personal favorites, “Serendipity” with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. Overall I do highly recommend coming here at least once if you’re in the New York City area.

Walked in, no reservation. Had a table within 5 minutes. Food was excellent and service was good. We loved the decor and all of the old stained glass. Was also pretty cool to see the Worlds most expensive menu items they serve. If your a Serendipity movie fan, go upstairs. Food A+ Service A+

What can I say?! It's Serendipity! There is a reason why they take reservations only. I guess I can complain about the hotdog but honestly, they're food is top notch! Obviously the frozen hot chocolate is a must! I'm not from NYC but ever time we go there, this is a MUST!

  • 5/5 Missy B. 1 year ago on Google
Average food, but amazing drinks and desserts. Granted I only got a foot long hot dog. Be prepared to share your meal if you want to get a taste of everything. Shared meal, but not drinks and still wasn't able to get dessert. For adult non chocolate lovers the Irish white chocolate drink is amazing. Pictured is just the drinks!

We went for a sweet 16th birthday. First i had to email them about a special seating situation, and request for our birthday teen. They were very fast to respond and accommodating. Then when we showed up for our reservation we were taken to our seats in 2min, even on a busy weekend evening, this was impressive! Our waiter was very fast and friendly! Now about the food! Soo worth the money, in quality, also in quantity. I got the Mac & cheese, its was cheesy and creamy, and thankful I had enough to bring home for another meal. As for the frozen hot chocolate… it is what everyone says. Gigantic and delicious!! I am not a fan of frozen hot chocolate but theirs changed my mind. The added dessert on top really was the topper to a great meal. I suggest when you go, be hungry!! These pictures don’t do the size justice. The other people in my party had hamburgers and the chicken sandwich. All were also impressive in size and taste.

Never fails to disappoint as a fun treat for family trips to NYC. The food itself is delicious, but nothing compares to the desserts. The entire place has such a fun, whimsical vibe and the staff are always very friendly. Can't wait to come back again

Fun tourist place to visit i highly recommended wow were the desserts huge and delicious. This is a must, especially if you have children. Really difficult to get in so book in advance. Fun friendly staff helpful and enhance the overall experience. I love their frozen hot chocolate but there are so many deserts to choose from! The banana split was fabulous even just a bowl of ice-cream with loads of toppings. But desserts aren't all they offer here now we didn't get main dishes but lots of wonderful choices. They have someone floating around taking pictures to make your visit more memorable and also offer some kids stuff in the entrance or maybe some candy if you have the strength, after this delicious indulgence. You must go here you must but this is not for the faint of heart. If your on a diet stay away I dare you not to go crazy here. One of my favorite but don't tell anyone they are already always so busy and I wouldn't want my secret to get put there!!

  • 4/5 Rosalie S. 2 years ago on Google
I normally don’t give out 4 star reviews but the purpose in going here is the famous factor and boy oh do they cash in on it. Loved a frozen hot chocolate and the fact they have a DEDICATED GLUTEN FREE FRYER. But mostly I would like to let people know to come and know you’ll spend money.

  • 5/5 Darren N. 2 years ago on Google
Was seated quickly with reservation. Music was perfect (80s). Food portions were enormous and delicious. Sundaes we're just as huge. Share if you can agree on one dessert. Waitress was very attentive and nice. A great stop on our NYC visit.

Serendipity Cafe in NYC is worth a visit for its charming pink decoration. The cafe is known for its famous frozen hot chocolate, which is a delightful treat. Topped with a generous amount of whipped cream, it is a must-try for any chocolate lover.

  • 4/5 Jamie K. 1 year ago on Google
The decorations are whimsical and the service is adequate. Hot Food was average but the frozen drinks bring the crowds. We had a 10:00 am reservation and still ended up having to wait outside for 10-15 mins past it while they called people inside off a list one at a time…. Pricey but so is the entire city so that’s par.

Had to check this place out and it was worth it! Saw a few kids having their birthday here and got to join in on singing. The staff was super friendly and knew a lot about the menu. The black bean burger was tasty, but HUGE! The drinks were divine and the atmosphere feels lucky.
