Came here for a three night stay, paid more for a better room, was put right underneath nightclub. I lived in meatpacking for 7 years, noise never bothered me. I asked when the music would be turned down, 3.30 AM every weeknight. I had the earplugs in. I complained and asked for help and was told I could leave. So I did. I can hang but not with horrific, HORRIFIC, attitude from the manager. For $700 a night you can do so much better in Manhattan. Avoid completely. They didn’t try for a moment to help or assist. We left at 1AM after scrambling to find another property to stay at. I spend 200+ nights a year in hotels and have never come across such treatment. Will tell every person I know about this experience.

If you are in one of the higher floors you will not get any sleep until 3am because of the VERY loud noise coming from the club on the top floor. The staff refused to move us to another room and so had to leave and find another hotel in the middle of the night. We were told by the receptionist that “this hotel is known for its club scene”. You have been warned.

Edit: what a snarky response. Thanks/no thanks. Went for a weekend for a milestone birthday and it didn’t really meet our expectations. Our “river view” room actually faced downtown (you could *see* the river if you squeezed down to one side of the window…) and we had to request privacy panels for the bathroom- which are supposed to be part of the upgraded room we chose- and a maintenance guy brought up a cheap shower curtain on a tension rod, stepped into the tub in his work shoes to hang it, and that was that. I’m pretty positive we had a lesser room than we paid for, but couldn’t be bothered to fight about it. Additionally, my boyfriend tried to arrange some kind of surprise in the room for our arrival (flowers, champagne, etc) and the hotel told him they “don’t do that”. Judging by other reviews, they do. The lobby is a whole other story… it’s more club kid than chic. And speaking of clubs, THERE IS ONE ON THE ROOF. It’s open until 4am, so reserve with caution. Cool elevators, though. The High Line and Chelsea Market are great.

I had the most amazing experience at The Standard - Highline. Shay and his team went above and beyond to make sure that my birthday trip was special (arranged for a sweet treat to be sent to my room). The view was incredible, the food was amazing, and the service was perfection. Will 100% be returning in the fall for another stay!

Best hotel in the city! I always stay here when I come to New York. Great area and lots to do around. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms overlook the Hudson. The staff is awesome! Ask for Mandy at the front she is the best and always takes care of me. Great customer service! I’ll be back for sure!

Wonderful stay this fall! The staff was fantastic and helpful with everything we needed. Our kids ordered room service and it was speedy and they loved it! The location cannot be better! The restaurant for breakfast was wonderful as was the dinner and drinks spot out front. We enjoyed our room (spacious for NYC) - book the king deluxe - and the easy access to the High Line. The Whitney is a few steps away and the West Village was an amazing spot to spend the weekend! We will be back! Maddie at the front desk was incredibly helpful with our large group and made sure we had every expectation exceeded!

i was able to check-in online ahead of time, so getting into my room was the quickest and easiest that i’ve experienced. we were just going to drop off our bags until it was time to check-in as it was only noon, but the front desk employee upgraded my room and got me settled right then and there. the view was beautiful, the room was trendy, and the tub was incredible! i will definitely stay here again!

No other hotel in nyc is quite like this!! The views are astounding, even on the low floors. The management really gets it: handing you bottles of water every time you walk through the lobby, delivering cocktails to your room (amazing!) and arranging for anything I needed, simply perfect. So unique is that all the guests I encountered in the halls/elevator are delighted and in such good moods. It truly is a happy place. Kudos to Sean the GM for all he has done to complete the vibe. Hope to meet you next time. Cheers

We stayed here for my birthday. Overall 4 stars experience. The drainer of our bathtub wasn’t working properly which became very annoying as we couldn’t enjoy the bath. Room is small but it’s NYC so understandable. Very clean. Pretty quite, great view to see Whitney, high line, and Little island. We ordered room service breakfast. The food was okay but it came fast.

If you’re looking for THE perfect stay- this is it! Our experience began with a warm welcome from David the Manager at the front desk- his customer service was exceptional! He patiently addressed all our questions, provided excellent recommendations for local events, and just overall top notch customer service. The room was immaculate and spacious, with a breathtaking city view, cozy bed, plush black robes and even had in room speakers! Location was great with so many nice restaurants, shops and bars in the area (there’s a Starbucks minutes away which was a bonus)! If you’re into the nightlife scene, they also have a rooftop lounge with a 360 view of the city and a club as well. Without a doubt, we plan to return soon and we owe our wonderful experience to David’s exceptional efforts!

A client booked us to decorate a room at this hotel & the front desk staff were great! The process was smooth and the room was clean. The hotel is situated in a great location. There was a beautiful view of Little Island from the room. There are bars and restaurants within walking distance, as well as a train station. Thank you for helping us to create this special memory for our client! We look forward to returning soon.

Gorgeous rooms and views. Amazing staff (shout to Johnny at the front desk for his kind and personable service). Perfect location for work and fun, and the restaurant is great. Can’t wait to come back, hopefully sooner than later.

Love this hotel. The service is excellent with highly trained and friendly staff from the moment you walk in the door. The rooms aren't large but very comfortable, well-appointed and offer great views. The food is excellent at the on-site restaurants but the in-room dining stands out among the best room service I've had. Meatpacking isn't the most scenic neighborhood but the proximity to the West Village and Hudson River Park along with the other highlights makes this a highly recommended hotel for a special stay in the city.

My wife and I had a great stay at the Standard High Line. We were staying at the hotel for our honeymoon and we were provided a hand written congratulations note and a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate, which was greatly appreciated. We were in the Corner King room and the views were to die for! The room was really spacious (something of a rarity in NYC) and also very clean. The hot water on the shower took a long time to come through and the pressure of the shower wasn't great, but these are only very minor issues in an all together great stay! All staff we encountered were very friendly and chatty, which was also very much appreciated. Big shout out to Seth for arranging our Taxi for us and also switching the booking when we informed him we needed to leave earlier than planned. We'll be looking to re-book at the Standard when we're next in NYC. Thanks for a great stay!

The check-in process was smooth and the elevator ride to our floor was fun. They had a screening in the elevator that was futuristic and very interesting, I didn't get a chance to capture it during our stay though. The room was small (which I was expecting) and a bit dusty and not super clean (which I was not expecting). The shower head had some black buildup on the holes and a few areas in the room were sticky and dusty. The view was amazing both during the day and night with a little bit of late night noise from the night club right above us which were given heads up about. The gym was small but amazing, with the right equipment. All Standard hotels now have Peloton (which I don't use but I know it's a big deal for those who do). It was on the top floor with top-down Windows, I exercised every day of our stay as the environment was very inviting. The location is great too, being within walking distance of many great restaurants. I would probably come back, hoping to see better cared-for rooms.

I love the Standard High Line. The location can't be beat, and the hotel is so much fun. The rooms aren't huge but the views more than make up for it. Love the restaurant, and especially love all the creative touches, like the animated windows in the elevators and giant Pokemon-inspired statues in the courtyard. The hotel is both upscale and whimsical, and the service was great, other than one sour woman at the check in desk, who was the exception.

Stayed here and the difference between the price and the value is ridiculous. The TVs only have local cable and no streaming services. The lobby area isn’t too impressive and I have this overall sense this hotel is missing typical accommodations . The shower makes you feel like a fish in an aquarium since the wall to the shower is clear glass . If you aren’t by yourself or with your partner prepare to have to kick out your family or friends when taking a shower lest you reveal to them your whole booty. Staff gave me wrong information about the bars and restaurant and I found myself in an empty club blasting music. Out of all the boutique hotels I’ve stayed at this one has left a lot to be desired.

NIGHTMARE! It took the staff 4 days to get us warm water..... It took them 2hours to bring us an iron board! No free coffee after 7am! (its 500$ per night!) Room didn't get cleaned until late in the day.... so we would come back to an undone room nearly everyday... Of course no mate checkout available even after all the troubles. They even ask you to pay $25 for an adapter.... the whole experience was a total joke... considering the rooms are around 500$ per night you'd expect the service to follow but it did not. The only good side... The view from the room. Other than that, staff was unhelpful in all manners, We stayed 6 nights, so a long stay and we're just gutted by the whole experience. We had booked the Standard Maldives but that will not be happening, what a joke of a hotel

We have had the best time here. Very hip joint. Staff is professional and knowledgeable. We booked the “Hudson Suite”. Worth every penny. The drinks and food in the hotel were all good. HALLELUJAH, they have room service! They set us up on our table in our room.

This is our second time returning to the Standard High Line celebrating our 1 year anniversary. David and the standard family made it so special by giving us the same room and amazing river views we had the previous year. I’m so thankful because I accidentally booked the wrong room and didn’t notice until they called and brought it to my attention. When we arrived they had champagne and gourmet chocolates set up in our room with well wishes for our celebration. We plan to continue to include the standard in this yearly tradition. I absolutely love this hotel! The views, the surrounding areas, and the gracious staff. Thank you for a wonderful stay

We had a great experience at the Standard, High Line until we checked out. I was promised free breakfast every morning during our visit but we were only credited for two of the three. I spoke to the manager and was told that even though we charged the breakfast to our room we ate in the lobby restaurant and the free breakfast was only for The Standard Grill. We were not told that when we checked in. It was a disappointing end to an otherwise great visit.

Update: they gave me for my second night a room on a higher level which i appreciated and updated my ranking. View is stunning if you get the chance to get a higher floor. Thanks. I told the hotel in advance that i would like to book a higher level. When i checked in i got a room on level 4 which is really low for that building. Especially upsetting as they send me almost everyday before check in updates that there are rooms available and advertised a lot and it is just a sunday night i doubt they haven’t a higher floor available. It is not nice to pay almost 400 dollar per night for a room on such a low floor. I was looking forward to have the view and it was a main reason i booked that hotel instead of hotels in Brooklyn.

A great hotel in a fantastic location. A very chilled vibe. We ate in the Grill and the food was delicious. My wife Sheena’s recommendation for breakfast is the Cocoa Supreme smoothie. Staff are chilled and professional. The room was cleaned to perfection each day. My only complaint is access to the Rooftop Bar - as a resident you are treated the same as some-one arriving from the street. You need to access from outside the hotel and you need to be have ID. Really not cool.

Just checked out after a 3 day stay. My (millennial) daughter and I throughly enjoyed our stay. The exterior is beautifully decorated with autumn decor. Check in was a breeze. We were enthralled with the elevator’s beautiful art installation. Our room, with a king sized bed, had an expansive southern view of the Hudson River. The quiet room was sized right to allow for 2 full-size suitcases. There was an upholstered wrap around bench with a table. The high pressure open shower was outstanding along with the deliciously fragrant toiletries. The tub was huge! We ate one dinner at The Grille. We didn’t require anything so we had minimal interaction with the staff but the younger man who helped us store our luggage as well as gave us wonderful suggestions made our stay extra special. The location is surrounded by higher end clothing stores and a few nice restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel and it was absolutely beautiful! The rooms are clean, the views are incredible, and the staff are helpful. Upon arriving, they let us know our room was close to the club. They accommodated us and moved us lower (which was great!). Later, we ordered room service and the food arrived extremely fast & it was so delicious! If you’re looking for a hotel to stay in the city, please consider The Standard!

This is an individualistically beautiful hotel with its own style -- and excellent friendly caring service. Amazing views. And one of the few hotels today with an top-notch restaurant open for breakfast. It's also in a fantastic neighborhood. I stay here often and quite love it. Oh and great fitness center too.

First time out to New York. The standard was perfect location with amazing views. It’s a bit of a distance from the heart of everything but we were glad it was in a better location. Area was great, safe and clean. Hotel has so many amenities and great restaurants and bars. We went to biergarten twice and standard grill for a nice dinner. 10/10 recommend! If you are torn between booking it, this is your sign to book it!

The hotel is beautiful and very cool- lovely decor and an ice rink right in front with like bumper car type things. And a cool outdoor seating area. But I’d give all that up for a functional shower. First of all, there wasn’t enough hot water for a shower- a very basic need. And the other problem is that based on the fully glass and completely open nature of the room and the shower, you can really only stay there with your significant other, or alone. That is unless you don’t mind a friend or mother seeing you shower, or want to kick people out of the room while you do. I’ll probably try a different hotel next time. Lovely location though.

Service and staff are amazing and attentive. (Shout out to Miss Brynne, Jewell, and Seth) The rooms are fabulous, comfortable, modern and spacious. From the different rooms we have stayed in (Hudson Suite, Corner King and normal King rooms) they are not family friendly so keep that in mind. The location is fabulous with Chelsea Market, Starbucks Reserve, the High Line, Chelsea Piers, and dozens of other restaurants within walking distance it is one of my favorite hotels. Can't wait to stay again in the near future!

Really cool hotel in a great location! The bathtub was fabulous. The cleaning crew was top notch, they do not skimp on toiletries and towels :) every one we encountered was super friendly. They go all out with the Christmas decorations in the lobby/outdoor space. We had a fabulous Christmas at The Standard. Highly recommend checking it out!

Absolutely fantastic experience. The staff here are so relaxed, helpful and at the same time very professional. Very clean rooms and views to die for. Could get a little noisy at night due to the partying people but oh well, it’s the Chelsea neighborhood so you should expect what you’re getting at.. Will definitely come back.

Came to the Standard to celebrate a birthday and the manager, Christian, pulled out all the stops to make our stay one to remember. He accommodated our request for a room with a tub and provided bubbles, rubber duckies and a bottle of Prosecco. The view and the room itself were enough to impress but these added touches made our stay perfect. Everything in the hotel is aesthetically pleasing. Honestly this hotel felt like a dream. I would come back in a second and would recommend it to anyone.

This review is about dining or drinking at The Standard. Not written as a hotel guest. The staff is for the most part super accommodating. It's easy to move about where to hang out, drink or eat. Especially for a group of friends or colleagues it's just terrific. Not overly expensive with tons of food and drink choices. They also offer a loud beer garden! Good place to bring 'a client' (we're ad guys and designers).

The Hudson View higher floors have an excellent view of downtown. Excellent location, excellent staff, a very cool place. Rooms a little small, a little shabby. Big bath/shower with a view, but difficult to step into for people with mobility issues. Bars and restaurants excellent. No doorman (not that we could see) which would help arrivals feel more welcome. But all in all an excellent stay.

Nice hotel in the middle of Manhattan. Nice to stay there inside but be careful about the 15.,16.,17., floor. the reception tell us this before and give us the option to go to a lower floor. You hear the night club at the rooftop during the night. The View was absolutely amazing. The rooms are clean and nice.

  • 3/5 J P. 2 years ago on Google
Great views and friendly service. The rooms have fantastic interior designs but the bedding, carpet, chairs and other surfaces are heavily stained, scratched and worn out or broken. This place is supposedly meant to be a 4 star hotel but due to wear and tear it surely feels like a humble 3 star

Stunning view! We stayed in a suite with a tub in front of an amazing skyline. Room was spacious (as it should’ve been for the price). Only small issue was appliance knobs falling off on the bathtub/sink/and shower. Small fixes, also beware the floor will be soaked when you shower. Not a big deal we just wasted a lot of towels to dry it off. All in all the venue is gorgeous, aesthetically pleasing, front desk and bell staff amazing, view top tier, restaurant Instagram perfect, location a little off the grid but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Great hotel that lives up to its reputation for fun and flair. The rooms are a great size for NYC accommodations with a work station, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was included in the stay and is offered at the Standard Grill downstairs every morning, which was one of the best hotel continental breakfasts I’ve seen in the US. The hotel gym is very clean and features sweeping views of the city and is probably one of the best views you’ll get from the hotel, besides Le Bain on the roof or having a top suite.

Last time I got a room at the Standard it was last minute and the front desk staff was beyond accommodating. They allowed me to check-in extremely early as the room was ready and available and didn’t charge me extra or a day rate which was very generous. I’ve never had a bad thing to say about the hotel. From the corner King rooms with the bathtubs in the windows down to the basic standard Standard room, great!

I booked a last minute reservation on Thanksgiving Day. It was my first time there and I had heard a lot of great things about the property, so I was excited and looking forward to my stay. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the manager on duty, Patricia. She was friendly and easy to speak to. I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable. I gave her a few details about my stay and she went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. It is a beautiful property, has amazing views of NYC and the rooms are equipped with pretty much anything that you need in order to enjoy your stay, but Patricia will be the reason that I return. Her service was exceptional and the company is so lucky to have her! Thank you for making my stay a memorable one, Patricia!
