My wife and I have been to Brooklyn 3 times in the last 3 months, and this place has been on out list. Finally got a chance to try it out, (unfortunately, alone! My wife had to tend to family issues) but the experience was still amazing! First, after I ordered my entree, the deluxe cheese burger with fries and rings, A combo of beets, dill pickles and a sweet relish/slaw, showed up out of nowhere. Then the expertly cooked well done burger , killed it, with its charred and tender yummy goodness. I did call the misses and let her know where I was, and of course she made sure I would bring home their signature and famous cheesecake🧀!!! Juniors is on my list from now on!! Great Job!

It was my first time eating at Juniors. The food was great and the cheesecake was on point. The next time I'm in Brooklyn I would definitely go there again. Our server Kris was the best. It was 8 of us and she handled us with no problem. Loved the Ruben Combo 😋😋😋

Stepping into Junior's Restaurant in Brooklyn is like taking a delightful journey back in time to the heart of classic New York dining. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped in an ambiance that effortlessly blends retro charm with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, making every visit here feel special. The star of the show is, without a doubt, Junior's world-famous New York-style cheesecake. Each bite of this creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced dessert is a taste of heaven. The smooth texture coupled with the buttery graham cracker crust is a testament to the culinary expertise and tradition that Junior's has perfected since 1950. But Junior's isn't just about the cheesecake. Their menu, featuring a wide array of classic American diner delights, consistently impresses. From the hearty, satisfying burgers to the delectable sandwiches and breakfast options, every dish is prepared to perfection, echoing the quality and care that Junior's is renowned for. The service here is as memorable as the food. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely contributes to the inviting and cozy atmosphere. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a long-time regular, you're treated like family. Junior's Restaurant isn't just a place to eat; it's a Brooklyn institution, a culinary landmark that embodies the spirit of New York. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic taste of the city, served with a side of history and heart. Whether for its legendary cheesecake or its sumptuous diner fare, Junior's leaves you with delightful memories and a longing to return. A true gem in Brooklyn's crown!

My friend has been insisting I try the cheesecake here, so I wanted to come and have the full experience. I saw the Russian dressing praised in other reviews and decided I needed to try it, so I had the corned beef and pastrami combo. Honestly, I didn't taste a difference between the two. I've definitely had better versions of both. The Russian dressing was good, but it was much thicker and less sweet than I am used to! I tried the devil's food cheesecake and concluded that I still don't like the flavor of cheesecake, but the consistency was good. It broke apart on the fork easily. The best thing was the oreo milkshake. It was perfect.

Cool opportunity to dine at the original Junior’s which has lots of memorabilia around the restaurant. Their classic steak burger is a huge serving and quite heavy - it’s tasty but get to be a bit of a handful. Onion rings are sinfully good. Cheesecakes are as expected indulgent but a single slice can carry you over three servings or so!

Best. Cheesecake. Ever. We've been loyal eaters for generations. It's the smoothest, creamiest cheesecake you'll ever have. No messy graham cracker crust will do here. They showcase the filling by having a thin sponge on the bottom only. This makes it so it doesn't take away from the real star of the show. The strawberry shortcake is my second favorite. Though this particular time I didn't eat a meal, I had no shame in stopping in as party of one and ordering both the OG cheesecake and shortcake with a cup of coffee. Let me also tell you that this one slice of shortcake was about the size of my head. Even their strawberry sauce I wanted to drink. I also had to cut this in half in order to fit it in their big container and it still got squished in! I just ate for breakfast 😋 Worth every penny spent as always. The establishment itself is also beautiful. As you walk through, it has its own personalities. The rush of the bakery up front, counter service and bar seating, romantic, intimate, comfortable. There's no place like the original that's for sure.

Ordered a Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake from Junior's and had it shipped to my home in Utah. It was very well packaged, shrink wrapped and frozen for shipping, with an ice pack to keep it cold during its trek west. Upon arriving at my home and opening it, it tasted fresh and delicious, as if we were sitting and eating in their restaurant in Brooklyn. It was some of the tastiest cheesecake I've ever eaten. I will definitely visit the restaurant next time I'm in NY!

GREAT CHEESECAKE GREAT SERVICE. Came to get some cheesecake with my boyfriend and a few friends for my boyfriend’s birthday. When our server came I casually mentioned we were just here for dessert for his birthday. Not only was the cheesecake delicious, but they put a candle on his cheesecake and sang! So nice. They sang to another table celebrating a birthday later on as well. Nice people and great food!!!!

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in The New York area. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in New York. The cheese cake is amazing. Highly recommend!

It's junior's, where my ex sister and law worked in the very early nineties and again that was the last time I ate there. Decided that would be my first breakfast so I went in and sat the the counter. The young dude across the counter was having strawberry cheesecake for breakfast, God bless him. I can't really do cheesecake anymore now that I know how it's made and saw that the won the number one French toast and when my charming server, Tishelle, asked what I wanted, that's what I got. It was very good, with the cornflake crust and the stewed apples. No maple syrup necessary. Very good. I like this place because it manages to be a tourist spot, a borough stalwart, and a.legit local grub spot all at once, where when the counter queen retired she got ink in the local fishwrap (sorry I was hijacked). Worth a visit, and even more so if you're a cheese cake maven

Was staying nearby so had to checkout the historical spot. Food was meh. Fried chicken was perfectly cooked (crispy skin and juicy meat), but it wasn't properly seasoned and flavorless. The ribs and cheeseburger were unremarkable. The onion rings were huge but the batter was not crispy. It was soggy and chewy. The egg creme wasn't tasty. The blueberry cheesecake and oreo cheesecake were great and saved this rating from 2 star to 3 star. Service was average. This place is expensive for the quality of entrees.

I Have been at Junior's at Times Square three times but in Brooklyn was the first time. Mohamed was the waiter, great service, great smile and such a big help with the menu and IPAS from Brooklyn. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. I got a Pastrami Reuben which was great. I will come back. Please try the homemade Russian Dressing. The Strawberry Cheesecake is much more than we could call excellent! Overwhelmingly good!

One of the few spots left in NYC where you can still get an authentic egg cream, you can even buy a glass. I enjoyed a delicious dinner with my friend. The corned beef reuben melts in your mouth, it was quite tasty. The complimentary cole slaw, beet salad, and pickles were a nice touch. If you come, you have to try a dessert...definitely a slice of one of their cheesecakes. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. Conveniently located on Flatbush Avenue near the trains at DeKalb Avenue. Just a short walk from Metro-Tech Center.

I love the retro vibe in there, definitely takes you way back. Atmosphere is solid. It’s super family friendly and the space is quite huge. Menu is your typical diner menu, has absolutely whatever it is you’re in the mood for. I think it’s nice this particular diner offers delicatessen options. They bring out pickles and pickled beets for you to snack on while you wait for your food which is nice. I ordered the Swiss steak burger and asked for disco fries instead of regular fries and got Mimosas. My friends got an omelette and the brisket sandwich. We all liked the taste of our food but the one complaint we all had was that it was COLD. Food is seriously cold almost as it it’s been sitting out for quite some time. Also side not my friend liked her brisket sandwich but personally it tried and thought the pickled bell pepper was very overpowering. I would come back but certainly wouldn’t order that. Also I need to try the cheesecake!!! Service was good not great but not terrible. Didn’t have to wait long for anything but never got checked on so it was kinda get up and go flag the waitress down. I will be back tho.

Ever since I had my first Junior's cheesecake back at their Central Station location which is now closed, I've been raving about it and recommended it to all of my friends who were visiting NY. However I was disappointed this time. It wasn't creamy enough and the taste was just a bit off. The lemon one didn't have enough lemon taste. The staff at the takeout counter seemed uninterested in serving customers. I stood there for 3-4 minutes without anyone telling me they would be right with me. And they were standing right there, two of them trying to figure out an order for another customer, but without any customer being there. A simple acknowledgment would have been just fine. And no smiles when they served me. Or maybe I'm just unfairly nit picking because I was disappointed with the cheesecake. You can make your own conclusions. P.S. I went to try the one in Times Square the next day and it was much better!

I love Junior’s! The cheesecake is delicious and it’s always a fun environment. I’m assuming the service at this location was slow due to Covid, but I feel like if they spread out their 20-some cashiers, this may help. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, so we ordered our cheesecakes and sat outside. I also wanted a drink, so I had to go all the way to the other side of the restaurant to get one. I waited at the bar for a few minutes but ended up leaving without a drink because the bartender was also a waiter and he had too many tables. Aside from the extended wait, the staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. I’m sure they will eventually be back to normal operations soon, they just need help.

(I'm a top 10% Google Reviewer) We happened upon this gem by accident. The outside was orange with lots of flashing yellow lights - it reminded me of the Ruby Slipper in New Orleans. We walked in the front doors, and there were many people standing there in the bakery area waiting for pastries and 🧀 cheesecakes. We skirted around them and were greeted with a friendly smile. We were seated, given menus, and it was really hard to choose from all their items because there was so much to choose from! I quickly ran upstairs to use the restroom. The tile floors were clean, the bathroom was clean, and well stocked. I thought I would try to be good, so I ordered 1/2 a sandwich, and a salad with blue cheese. The waitress then brought us pickled beets, pickles, and coleslaw. I wasn't a fan of the coleslaw - it was like cabbage and carrots in vinegar. The pickles were good and salty, and the beets had onions in with them. Yum! The food came, and boy, am I glad I only got half a sandwich and salad! The portions are huge! The homemade blue cheese dressing for my salad was the best I ever ate! It tasted very much like blue cheese. The brisket sandwich wasn't dry at all! I tried a huge fry from my lunch mate's plate - delicious! And to top it off, we split a piece of cherry 🧀 cheesecake! I just about fell over when the waitress placed that cheesecake on the table! It ... was ... HUGE!!!! It was so delicious and thick, just like cheesecake should be. The menu was a little pricy, but I spent just as much on two medium, 6 Slice, Grimaldi's pizzas. The quality of the food was superb, the cleanliness was superb, and the wait staff was superb. Run here! Just Run! Q train to Dekalb - you'll see it on the corner.

This place was awesome! Like traveling back in time. Super clean, very friendly staff and the food was delicious! Update!!! I went again for a second time this week and my server, Willy, was exceptional! He was taking care of multiple tables and was moving at fast pace and with purpose. My steak was delicious and could not have asked for a better last meal while in Brooklyn. I look forward to returning!

Had dinner here with a friend. This restaurant is a staple here in Brooklyn! Atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. the wait time for the food to hit the table was about 15 minutes. Our waiter was Camden. He was very friendly, polite and attentive. Our table booth was clean. Food was enjoyable. I would visit again.

This was our second time at Junior's, this time in Brooklyn. We were not disappointed this time either. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and the ordered dishes were on the table very quickly. Very good food, well seasoned and presented. Junior's offers not only dinner, but also desserts. The cheesecakes are out of this world. We recommend.

Tolles typisches Amerikanisches Restaurant.

Very disappointing experience dining here. It was my first time visiting a Junior’s restaurant, and it may as well be my last because I was not impressed at all. My friend and I went here on Sunday for lunch, as a belated birthday celebration. The hostess who seated us was pleasant and accommodated our request for a booth, but our server was beyond curt. She rushed us to place our orders and watched us like a hawk waiting for us to finish our food. She came to take my friend’s plate before she had even finished, and it left us with a very unpleasant sense of customer service. She did not provide very helpful information when I asked about the cheesecake varieties, it felt like she didn’t care at all about providing a positive experience to us. The food itself was very overpriced and not worth the price we paid.

Go to Juniors with an empty belly or you won't be able to do justice to the gorgeous food. Well worth the walk over Brooklyn Bridge and another 20 minute walk to the restaurant. They are famous for their cheesecake so that's what we had and boy were they delicious. I had carrot cake cheesecake, my Mum had red velvet cheesecake and our friend had strawberry shortcake cheesecake. Only my Mum could finish hers. The young lady who served us was delightful. Very friendly, funny and chatty. Cannot recommend then enough

Juniors Restaurant Bar Downtown Brooklyn is a classic spot for American comfort food and desserts. The menu has something for everyone, from burgers and sandwiches to salads and soups. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The service is fast and friendly, and the ambiance is cozy and lively. But the star of the show is the cheesecake, which is rich, creamy, and delicious. You can choose from different flavors, such as strawberry, chocolate, or plain. Juniors Restaurant Bar Downtown Brooklyn is a great place to enjoy a hearty meal and a decadent dessert.

Late night visit to juniors for grub, portions are big so make sure to order light! Food was good for the time of night. Calamari was really tasty and potato pancakes were huge ! Sebby got the double burger no bun not knowing each patty is 10oz! We had a lot of food to take home…ended the visit with a slice of the classic cheesecake which was the best part of the whole meal. When in Brooklyn, it’s a must try at least once

The only thing good about my experience is the service received by our waitress Shania. Too much batter on chicken tenders which tasted like eating a brown paper bag. My 12 year old daughter was hungry and ate it anyway. Equally so, the burger had no taste to it. My chicken wings were “ok”. Complimentary beets, coleslaw and pickles to start did not impress me. Overall, the menu is over priced for an eatery that is in need of a serious makeover. I will not be back!!

They accommodated our 6-party group for lunch. Excellent food, burgers, Reuben sandwiches and soup. They also have cocktails. Service was quick and attentive. Our meal included 18% service, and I wasn’t sure if that’s typical for NYC. Overall good experience.

Exquisite Brooklyn dining experience in an authentic old school restaurant that appreciates the value of a classic meal. A must go to visit the quintessential Brooklyn charm. The decor and ambiance is haute vintage. The service is professional and the smiles are not lacking. The food is beautiful and delicious. Omelettes were perfectly fluffy and cooked just right. The coffee hit the spot. The orange and mustard decor style is really nice and the dessert cases are perfect eye candy.

(NYC VISITOR) Came to try this place out since it had all the wonderful reviews. It was one of the first places to try out since arriving and food was really good but really wished it was GREAT. The Onion rings had more fried dough than what the actual onion was and the macaroni and cheese had a strong cheese taste after a few bites into it. Either way I enjoyed my burger and the desserts they had to offer. Will come back a different time to maybe give another menu item a chance.

My girlfriend and I got dinner at Junior's in October 2022. I got a Manhattan and pastrami Reuben. She got a glass of white wine and Swiss steak burger. We also split a strawberry cheesecake for dessert. The portions were huge. We only managed to eat half of everything and took the rest back home. The food was delicious with fresh ingredients. The service was excellent, with our waiter checking in on us several times. My Manhattan was strong and my girlfriend's glass of white wine was a generous pour. All in all, it's a very good value at an iconic New York institution.

Orders the BLT sandwich from their bakery/takeout counter. The bacon was so thick and juicy and crispy. The bread was perfectly toasted. But I wish they put mayo on for us instead of giving us packets. We ended up sitting outside in Junior's extra table area. Nice.

Decent cheesecake. Per slice price is on the $$ side for the portion. 2 slices cost us $20.14. We have different tastes, otherwise we'd have gotten a small cheesecake for $27 (better value for money).... How does that make sense... idk It's no Carnegie Deli cheesecake but it hits a spot. My chocolate moose cheesecake was more chocolate moose than actual cheesecake which was a disappointment, because I went for 'cheesecake.' The carrot cake cheesecake was more carrot cake than cheesecake.... Personally, it doesn't live up to the hype...

At front you can buy cheesecakes all kind of flavor ;pineapple , cherry strawberries , raspberry ,even Pumpkin!!! The one I picked with a nice cup of coffee . It runs from 8.99 a slice and up.This particular location has also sitting outside. Few tables and chairs. Definitely must try Juniors cheesecakes at least once.

Well I decided to come after so many years. The cheesecake is still wonderful. The staff seems to be less attentive than I wished they were. I waited for a while before someone directed me to a seat and table. I was given a red velvet layer cake when I ordered a red velvet cheesecake. Good thing I didn't eat the layer cake and got the cheesecake I desired.

The best thing about this place is the dessert & the awesome service, they've got that covered, hands down. I've never had a bad experience here ever. Only, the food leaves a lot to be desired. My chicken strips were way too thick & undercooked/ pink & chewy & my Mac was on the warmer too long so the pasta was too soft however, the flavor was pretty good. They did have prosecco & seltzer water w/lemon which was phenomenal. Absolutely drop in for great customer service & dessert though. You won't be disappointed.

Came here for just the "best cheesecake in the world", however, it was just okay. I do believe the size of the slice was worth the price. We tried three flavor profiles: Red Velvet, Key Lime, and Strawberry. They did cure the sweet craving, but I wouldn't call it the best cheesecake in the world. For being fairly busy though, the wait wasn't bad. The woman's bathroom was really unkept, I cannot fail to mention this. And Derrick the waiter was really kind and friendly.

I was searching for a place with good stuff to eat after wisdom teeth removal and ordered a black and white milkshake with whipped cream and mashed potatoes for delivery. They were excellent. Packaged well, potatoes hot, milkshake cold. So good, I walked over today to continue my soft food only mandate. The service inside was quick and efficient. Potatoes come with gravy on the side and are a decent value at $5.25. Milkshake is $9.50. Picking up saved me $6 after delivery fee, service charge, tip, all the crazy stuff that’s added on. You’ve probably walked past a million times and I can’t vouch for many dishes but for those on a soft food diet, this spot trumps any other place I’ve tried around the area in terms of milkshake (Van Leewan is more $, 1/3 the size, and not as good. Shake shack milkshake or whatever they branded it is just eh. Should be called Burger Shack)

I went here for my birthday a couple of weeks ago because I'm not familiar with the Brooklyn area and this resturant was within proximity. I arrived at 10:15pm, they closed at 11pm so that was plenty of time to dine. The seating area was rather empty, which was a plus for those concerned about dining during covid. The decorum lacks appeal, definitely needs some updating. I informed the waitress it was my birthday and requested a cute tasty drink that was also Instagram worthy. She came back with a regular fountain drink cup with a lemon stating they didn't anything like that which was disappointing because we all know that birthday drink is everything! I ordered the ginger Thai wings as an appetizer and the Fried chicken dinner. No complaints there the food was really good. I also ordered a slice of carrot cake cheesecake which was also good. But geez couldn't I have gotten it for free or a Happy Birthday song?!?! Maybe they don't do that here but that was very disappointing as well. I should have stuck with my first mind and headed to Sugar Factory, they celebrate you! Nonetheless I would return but definitely not for a special occasion it was a waste of time and money.

I didn't eat here. I just ordered a cheesecake to-go but the lady that served me did not greet me and was quite short with me during our interaction. But that cheesecake???.... BAYBEEEEE!! Absolutely amazing!

I only wanted to order the cheesecake when I was told we can eat there. And eat there we did! Food was amazing. Comfort food! And their people, especially Josie who welcomed us, were warm and friendly. Looking forward to going back.

The Food was excellent! Our server was a bit absent minded and distant, other than that it was a terrific visit! I had the french toast; my wife had the BLT. Everything was cooked perfectly! And, needless to say, the Strawberry Cheesecake was PHENOMENAL! Definitely a must-eat restaurant when visiting Brooklyn.

The food was delicious. The skin on the chicken was nice and crispy. There was a little too much sauce on the ribs for my taste but it was good overall.

I think the portions are generous however the food is not that great. The restaurant provided us some complimentary coleslaw, beets, and pickles which was nice. Generally I will say the burgers are good and the price is fair however the dinner items are expensive and not that great. I did not get to try to baked goods but I heard great things about them.

I was always a fan of Junior's Cheesecake, so since I was in the area checking out The Bloody Mary Festival a block away, I figured I'd stop in to get a strawberry cheesecake. They have a great little bakery section as soon as you walk in with a delectable assortment of flavored cheesecakes that are available in all different sizes and by the slice. The prices of the cheesecakes can be quite costly, but the quality is absolutely exceptional. They also do takeout, which is the area directly across from the bakery. The restaurant seems quite large, and they provide indoor and outdoor dining. I haven't tried any of the food since I ate at the event I went to, but I see that they have a pretty extensive menu, which I will definitely take advantage of the next time I am in the area. But in the meantime, whether you are a New Yorker or an out of towner, I think everyone should definitely try this out of this world cheesecake.
