I came here for my anniversary dinner and I was not disappointed at all! Thinking back, I should have ordered the tasting menu with wine pairing (unfortunately I didn't), but the courses offered were amazing! Starting off, we were welcomed to the table with a "Happy Anniversary" card waiting for us. There were many off menu treats in-between meals and the food are cooked to perfection! Servers are really warm, welcoming and knowledgeable about the food that are served. We are not avid wine tasters, but we can appreciate a good wine because the sommelier picked the perfect pairing for the main courses we chose. To tip it off, the dessert was amazing as we were given a chocolate moose cake complementary to the meal for our celebration! If you want an experience, this place is highly recommended.

The best fine dining experience ever! I went there for my birthday, and everything was beyond my highest expectation - hand written birthday card signed by the chef, first class service, complimentary appetizers, big portion meals even with a 3 course prix fix, amazing dish presentation, and the best kitchen peeps ever (Yes, I visited the kitchen!). The food is prepared and served with love, and I love the collaborative and welcoming vibe in the kitchen, Gabriel must have spent a lot of energy on fostering relationships with everyone, because you can tell staff members respects him from heart. Will definitely come over again, and hopefully can greet the chef in person next time.

The food at GK was underwhelming compared to other two stars. It was still a nice experience due to attentive service and outstanding (though overpriced) cocktails. Nothing’s bad, but nothing made me feel like it’s a peak of culinary delight. If you’re ordering prix fixe, the duck is the must get. The dishes felt tired and dated, relying more on fatty richness than bursts of flavor. The risks they took, as in the queso fundido, fell flat—I like the concept but the flavors were too pedestrian, like something similar could be made at home. The cooking was more breadth than depth, quantity over quality. Instead of layering flavors onto one bite to blow our socks off, GK goes for “complexity” by adding more and more components on the side, which came across as grasping at straws. I often felt a dish could be improved by trimming its extraneous components. The breads and pastries were the standouts of the tasting menu. The kougelhopf, waffle, bread, and the sable base in the dessert were utter joys in flavor and texture. The cocktail prices are steep, averaging $28-29, but they were all complex and interesting in a way that can’t be picked apart. I highly recommend grabbing a few cocktails. The Alliteral Arcana had me savoring every sip.

Best meal - possibly ever - in all aspects. An artistic experience as well as culinary. So much creativity. The best were the lamb chops, best meat I’ve had in my life. The crudo was presented in three different ways. Photos capture the artistry. At a whole different level than the other restaurants the past year, even better than Daniel and Gage & Tollner. We got an several additional things to taste, a couple slices of Bonny melon sprinkled with some kind of seasoning the most interesting. Usually you get one or two of these at this kind of restaurant but there were four given to us right at the start. The cheese plate was amazing especially the way the waiter asked about our preferences before. The aged cheese was incredibly refined and the blue cheese was generous and went so well with the bread. The desserts were small but beautifully arrayed. There was enough delicious bread if you wanted to fill yourself up more but portions generally were not too bad. The service was amazing, the super-nice manager Michael really does an incredible job and our server knew everything about the dishes, the wine and cheese that we asked. Only two disappointments - the wine pours were very stingy, only about 3 oz instead of the usual 6. But the real shock was the decaf cappuccino I ordered at the end which tasted like lukewarm dishwater had been poured onto a Sanka packet. It gave me an awful headache and a bad night sleep, but barely put a dent in a highly memorable evening.

I had high expectations going in but Gabriel Kreuther exceeded all of them. Unbelievable food, absolutely excelling service from the hostess to the manager to the server to all the other staff that stopped by our table to take care of us, and great ambiance- we could breathe and enjoy the evening. Reasonably priced bottles of wine which was a pleasant surprise. The standout in my opinion was the sturgeon pastry topped with black caviar in a glass with smoke - not only for effect, the flavor was an powerful flavor yet delicate texture, with every bite and chew. Phenomenal spot, I would save for relatively casual but special occasions.

One of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Easy to see why it is one of only a handful of restaurants in the US to have 2 Michelin stars. Of course the food is perfect but it is not just the food. Every detail of this family owned business is carefully set up so that you have a wonderful evening. After reviewing over 1,000 restaurants is has been our experience that the best food you can get is to allow the chef to serve what he feels is the best. That is why we always pick the Price Fixe Menu if available. Many places just offer you one set menu, but here they allow you to choose between 2 or 4 dishes for every serving. What we love about that is that if we each choose something different and if we are willing to share (not always the case) then we really get to try 2 meals at one sitting. We did that here and every single item we got was fantastic. My only complaint is that the price is too LOW. Yes too low. When I saw the price online for the Price Fixe menu it was about 50% of other Michelin starred restaurants so i feared that something was amiss. I learned that because it is family owned they are able to keep their prices "low". Yes i realize that $135 per person is not really "low" but comparable locales charge $300-$400 per person. This place is worth a lot more and it has our highest recommendation. Get a booth if you can, they are super comfortable. Get one near the kitchen and you can watch the magic. Perfect meal in a perfect place.

Food taste, presentation, and service all deserves the Michelin star - chef Gabriel personally overseeing the kitchen even during lunch time and he made sure he greeted all guest plus attentive staff who even notice I dropped my face mask and provided a new one is 5 star service. The foie gra was impeccable. Presentation was great on top of the beautiful dinning room. Slightly too salty on main course with too much seasoning would deduct points on taste on otherwise overall perfect.

This was a memorable dining experience. They do an excellent job of making the evening an ongoing experience with small bites and beautifully plated dishes- from the Bundt bread bowl to serving on hot stones or ganache set in a cocoa fruit pod. Our service was mindful of the time constraints for our meal and perfectly coordinated each dish without delay or rushing the next course. They paced our evening flawlessly. I found the culinary artistry to be delightful.

It is our first time here, and we chose this restaurant not knowing what the Thanksgiving prefixe menu would be. I am a Pescetarian, and there was no fish entree on the menu, but the chef had a salmon option on the side, which was not very impressive. I liked the cheese ravioli with a supplemental white truffle for an additional $130. That was very tasty! I would like to come back here and try a non holiday prefixe as we were not very impressed by the flavor of some food choices. The staff, however, were excellent like a Michelin Starred restaurant should be. Very accommodating, attentive, and friendly, but not stuffy.

A very memorable and stellar dining experience! The chef tasting and wine pairing menu was absolutely outstanding. The textures, flavours and presentations were an experience to behold. The wine pairings were chosen with meticulous precision. The headache I had the next morning was outweighed by the smile on my face recalling this epic dining experience.

A once in a lifetime dining experience you definitely won’t regret. The food, the wine, the ambience and service all exceeded our expectations. A highlight was the sturgeon tart and the duck breast. Also definitely go for the wine pairing, it adds another interesting element to the experience. This place is a little more under the radar than some of the other Michelin restaurants in NYC but I would argue offers the best value for the price. We both did the four course tasting menu and left feeling incredibly full. The ambience in the restaurant and view of Bryant Park are so beautiful. We will hopefully be back again!

Update....Just had dinner at the bar here tonight and the experience was perfect as usual! Gabriel Kreuther, located within the iconic Grace building, is not only one of the finest restaurants in NYC, it's one of the best in the country. I've eaten here a number of times and have even done my father-in-law's 70th birthday party downstairs in one of the private rooms. From the food, service, and atmosphere it has always been perfect! This restaurant is a must visit and my favorite place to dine in NYC.

The food was great. It truly was. From the bison, langoustine tartare to the New York Strip. I took off a star because of our experience. Our waiter charged over $140 worth of extras to our bill without bringing it to my attention. Again, great food.

One of the few Michelin starred restaurant that really justifies the honor. It has 2 Michelin stars and one that I would gladly return again for a meal. The food is thoughtful and complex in flavor. Creative and beautifully presented. They serve you complimentary small bites and “tongue cleanser” as well as sweets. The orchestrated flavors of your food and small treats is well managed. Service is very good and professional but I must comment that it lacks the warmth and genuine courtesy. I decided to still give five stars as the food, the presentation is exceptional!

Came here for a decadent treat to celebrate a friend's birthday. We got the 3 course tasting menu and ordered an appetizer to share as well thinking we might be hungry from small portions, but it was more than enough food (and everything was absolutely divine). Service was impeccable and they also gave an extra dessert to celebrate the birthday. Was a wonderful treat!

If you're a fan of the bear on Hulu this feels like the experience you'd get at the restaurant Carmy worked at. Service was phenomenal, good was pretty great, small portions but so many dishes with the chefs tasting menu. Great wine selection. Was almost $800 for two with a glass of wine and the chefs tasting menu.

Probably the best duck I had in New York? Went to this place to celebrate getting a new job. We got the tasting menu and we enjoyed a lot. The duck is probably the best I had in New York. Generally the portion is big but the dishes were paced very well. Service is impeccable too. Would love to come back and try the new menu.

Nice place, great service , disappointing food! We had tasting menu, that included few small bites, all of them are simple and boring. Then uncooked ravioli, “do it yourself “ fajitas that were average minus and a perfect duck dish. Deserts were nice. All in all it was a nice experience but doesn’t worth the money at all. It is not a matter of the cost, it is a matter of waisting an evening in NY for such food instead of enjoying a much better Michelin restaurant.

Simply the best restaurant I have ever visited. The food. Oh the food! It shouldn't be called that. It's really artwork for your pallet because once you realize the effort, the mixtures of tastes and their unrivaled originality, you are experiencing Michelangelo on your plate. I would say to not consider it a restaurant as much as it is an experience, one that you will never forget.

A very good experience and I can see why it deserves two Michelin stars. It was very delicious food. The service was phenomenal as well. My fiancé and I had a really great time. We were very happy to have eaten here. It’s hard to explain the menu, but definitely recommend the tart and the duck. We both did the prix fixe. I did 4, but should have skipped dessert. They give you small sweets to fulfill your sweet tooth at the end. Being in our early 30s and not celebrating anything in particular, we were by far the youngest people there. I think that’s a NYC thing though. If we were home in SoCal, we would have only seen people our age or younger.

This place is special. I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday and it did not disappoint! Everything was so delicate and detailed-oriented. Not to mention the meals were so subtle yet delicious. I was full by end of the night, so not at all a “gourmet” still kinda hungry experience lol It was expensive but worth it, as a special occasion night. Definitely enjoyed our experience and will come back in the future while in New York.

I picked this spot to propose to my girlfriend and couldn’t be any happier with the way it turned out. From the minute I called to make reservations and explain the situation they were very accommodating. We decided to have the chefs choice and the 7 course meal felt like 9 courses with all the different things in between. The presentation and description of the food by the staff was amazing. When it came time to propose the staff helped me with surprising her and even went above and beyond by offering to help me video our special moment. We were so taken back by the whole experience I didn’t even think about taking pictures throughout the dinner. Definitely an experience to remember forcer 100 stars!!!

It was such an amazing experience. From the moment you step inside, the staff is beyond attentive. The decor is simple and elegant. Great drink selection. Outstanding food. The prix fixe menu is an absolute must. You can also stop by for French chocolate.

Great setting and even better food. Service was amazing and drinks were fabulous. Perfect for milestone celebrations like birthdays and graduations. Services staff from concierge to waiters to sommeliers to even bus staff were super friendly and amicable. But be ready to lighten your wallet by $200 to $1000 per person on average. (Can easily go up to $2000 a person depending on drinks)

Took my brother here to celebrate his birthday with two other dear friends, absolutely loved everything they serve here! Delicious drinks, tasty food, and the look of the food are all so inventive! Our friend Rodrigo was the sous chef here, he was such an amazing host, even though it was a crazily busy night for him, he still took time to come out to greet us and took a very good care of us to make sure we had a great time! Met Gabriel Kreuther himself, he was so charming, kind, and friendly!! Very humble <3 would definitely come back again after I save up some money! 🤣

My husband and I celebrated our birthdays here while visiting NYC. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was lovely. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. When I appreciated most was all the staff seemed to be trained well as there were a few times our waiter was attending to another table so another waiter delivered and presented our food. It was very efficient and I left feeling satisfied. This was our first 2 star Michelin experience and I hope it won’t be the last!

Did the 6 course chef tasting menu paired with wine. The food was excellent. The wine was perfectly paired. The cost for the wine pairing is up there, but so is everything in NYC right now. If you want the best service go for an earlier seating. If you do the 4 course the portion sizes are bigger and you get your own choices.

The duck was so delicious: the meat was tender paired with crispy skin you have to get it, but the Foie gras was not that great and overly filling, I wouldn't get it again. The decor inside the restaurant is also very nice. The brioche bread with pistachio butter is one of the highlights for me because the bread was soft with a buttery taste. The dessert is a bit on the sweeter side, so I would recommend getting something other than the chocolate truffle. By the end of the meal, I felt overly full… but everything tasted fantastic.

Absolutely divine experience! We dined at GK for my husband’s 30th birthday and we had the best time. We had the Alsacien tasting menu and the food was out of this world! Service was impeccable and we were treated so well. I highly recommend this place for your special occasions, it was so so wonderful.

My partner and I had such a lovely and romantic date night here. We were celebrating our anniversary and her birthday. The waiters were so attentive and friendly. They folded our napkins when we were away for bathrooms. As for the food, they were all amazing! We were full after the second course. It’s fancy but they fed you well! The duck breast was extremely tender and delicious. It was relatively bigger portion compared to other high-end restaurants. We were surprised. She got miso steak which was also very yummy. I particularly loved the truffle pasta. It was amazing. You can taste the nature in your mouth! We will definitely recommend Gabriel Kreuther and it’s perfect for date night!

We had a wonderful night there. Our server is super attentive and friendly. Food is phenomenal. It's a celebration of a special event and they prepared a cake for us, which is really nice. They have the best desserts I've ever had - especially the ones with chocolate!

Despite some sparks of genius, we felt it was an "uneven" performance. The two highlights of our meal were the langoustines tartare and the fig carpaccio. The fig carpaccio really understood the 2-star assignment: delicious, creative, marrying textures and savors of sweet & acid, crispy & soft, hot & cold. Really amazing. The little amuse-bouches and starters were also surprising and interesting, with a lot of sweetness in them. Unfortunately we were less convinced by our entrée dishes. Overwhelming creamy and buttery sauce masked the taste of otherwise perfectly cooked fish. The alliance of cream with corn and green beans almost left us nauseated. I was somewhat surprised with these propositions of dressing and presentation in a two-star restaurant.

  • 5/5 Karina K. 2 years ago on Google
The 6 course chef menu was pretty amazing, even considering the steep price. The flavors were surprising and on point. There were additional amuse bouches, bread and pre desserts on top of the included courses. Additionally, when the server found out I had a birthday, I got a birthday cake with a candle which was a pretty sweet gesture. We barely managed to finish the food. The ambience was pretty good, the service as well.

For my husband's 40th birthday I took us to this restaurant. The food, staff, and experience was top notch. I've read a few complaints about the food dishes being too Salty. For me they were perfect . I recommend this restaurant to anyone who can afford it. It was a pricey but well worth meal!

This was an amazing fine dining experience that we had in the city right across Bryant Park. They are well deserving of their two Michelin stars. We were greeted by fantastic hosts and hostesses, who made us truly feel welcome. The servers were very attentive, came very frequently, kept the table looking fresh in between each course. All of the staff members we encountered were so nice and accommodating. I can’t say enough about how each of the staff went above and beyond for us. We went with the four course option and we were very happy with our choice. They were able to adjust the dishes to our dietary restriction‘s without issues. The courses that you picked are a first course, midcourse, entree, and dessert. However, in between each of these courses, we received complementary drinks and finger food to cleanse the palate in between each dish. Here were our selections: 1. Foie Gras & Pate - Diver Scallop - Smoked Duck Breast - Citrus Mousse 2. Asparagus & Snap Pea Salad - 4 Cheese Ravioli and Morel Mushrooms - Roasted Golden Bass - Buttermilk Panna Cotta For the entrée, I would highly recommend the duck breast which was very rich tasting, smoked to perfection, and had such a unique savory taste, and was nicely complemented by the sweet topping. Also really liked the Seabass which had a more mellow flavor, and all of the components of the dish complemented each other very well. Food was amazing, and each dish had several layers of flavor and texture, nothing like I have had in the past. This was truly a top of the line culinary experience. We left the restaurant very full and satisfied. I did a good amount of research before choosing this restaurant, and compared it to several other two star Michelin restaurants. My experience here was nothing but positive, and I would highly recommend this place.

This ended up being my favorite lunch that I had while in New York! I got the prix fixe menu and each dish really blew me away. Everything was cooked to perfection, plated beautifully, and had unique, delicious flavors. From the starting bites of nori cornbread topped with caviar to the chocolate truffle dessert, I just had to savor every bite. This was one of those rare times when it's impossible to pick a favorite. If the lunch was this good I can't imagine how much i'll love the dinner!

The staff at Gabriel Kreuther was excellent. They were attentive, polite, and informative. Their hospitality was only overshadowed by the food which was a masterclass in creativity and flavor. I did the 6 course prefix and was delighted by the various dishes! My favorite might be a tie between the 2 week aged smoked duck and the bibeleskaes which was a potato dish topped with a farm egg crema(absolutely delightful). I def recommend dining here.

One of the few (if not the only) 2 Michelin-starred restaurant in NYC who offered takeout during the pandemic. The food did not disappoint. Take it service was a bit slower than I would've liked, but the food itself was great. They are very thoughtful in the options they offer for takeout based on whether the integrity of the dish would be preserved during transportation.
