I crossed Victor's Cafe many times before I actually went there, but I was struck by how large and magnificent the indoors portion of the restaurant was. The food was excellent, the cocktails were great, and the servers were very hospitable. Would highly recommend this place for a nice meal. Check it out :-)

We came here on a Saturday night before going to see a show. The location is convenient to many theaters. Our server was fantastic at being mindful of the time and food came out quickly. The atmosphere is fun and feels like you are in a tropical oasis. Another plus is that we did not need reservations, although the restaurant was very full, so we may have gotten lucky. Unfortunately, I disliked the food. I found it bland and either under or over cooked. The seafood paella lacked seasoning. I had shredded pork, which was tough rather than tender. The yuca that came with it was flavorless and mushy. We also had the appetizer sampler which was a let down. The salmon ceviche was the best dish of the night. This seems like a tourist destination. I would come back to try drinks before a show, but would avoid their food.

The food is tasty and the portions were good. Got what we expected and I don’t get Cuban food very often and not something that I would think of to get in NYC but glad we did. The drinks were good and then Churros! Must get. Very delicious.

Dinned here prior to a broadway show; the service was beyond excellent and the timing was perfect. We selected items off of the summer restaurant week menu which was a great value. The ropa vieja, black beans and flan were so good!

The food and dining experience lived up to its excellent reputation! The food was deliciously well seasoned and authentic Cuban. The ambience wonderful and the service impeccable. I initially reserved for 3 but when I arrived I unexpectedly encountered 2 friends. The host was so gracious and offered a larger table to accommodate 5 of us. We were served immediately and on time. We were attending a play on Broadway and had more than enough time to walk to the theater. I highly recommend Victor's Cafe and cannot wait to return to NYC.

Very cool Cuban restaurant in Manhattan. On the pricey end of the scale, but the quality of the food and the atmosphere contribute to the hefty check. The menu clearly indicates which dishes are gluten-free or vegetarian, desserts included!

A good friend that's a local of Manhattan took us here. I don't remember much from this night due to the amount of alcohol consumed before, during, and after but I do remember that everything that we've ate was delish. It's a bit pricey but worth every penny.

I highly recommended this place. Great location, delicious food, and excellent service. I was really impressed by the sir who served us. We were there for my husband’s birthday, and the attention was perfect. They signed a birthday card for him. Thank you!!

We decided to come here in the spur of the moment, quickly made reservations and walked over. They were organized and seated people in a timely manner. Those without a reservation they gave them realistic wait times and/or let them know what seating would be available. This is already a step up from the location we left. We had a great time here. Our waiter Diego was awesome! Diego made the dining experience that much better with such a friendly Pleasant personality. Talk about knowing good customer service! A+++ As previously mentioned this was a spur of the moment visit due to leaving from a different establishment so we made last minute reservations that were accepted and honored without issue. We arrived a few minutes early but were informed that it wasn't a problem and we would be seated soon. The restaurant may look small at first glance but it's actually pretty spacious. We were seated in the area with the skylight which was great since it was still light out. And the food!? Awesome!! Our table spread consisted of: maduros, tostones, Ropa Vieja with white rice and black beans, Arroz Con Pollo, ensalada de palmitos y mandarinas, ceviche de camarónes, and flan. Everything was delicious! The ropa vieja was flavorful and the beef wasn't so shredded it looked weird or inedible. Even the black beans were good. It wasn't just a side of black beans plopped down in a bowl. The maduros and tostones both made just right! The maduros wasn't mushy or under cooked and the tostones weren't over cooked and rock hard. The arroz con pollo had nice juicy pieces of chicken This was a plus because we were trying it out during restaurant week to see if we would want to come back in the future. We also tried cocktails and they were the white sangria, the coconaty mojito, and the Hemingway daiquiri (which isn't like a typical daiquiri). Plus we didn't at any point feel rushed which is a bonus! After a hectic frustrating day coming here was a great ending and a pleasant visit. We are definitely going to include Victor's Café in our regular rotation!

The opulence of this venue is wonderful. The fans shuffling amid the plants hanging from the well lit ceiling is so therapeutic. This cafe is situated in the heart of time square within walking distance of all the greatest theaters. The portion sizes will reflect the prices and I am so great full for that. We left well fed and a little boozed! Try the Bacardi rum coco mojito and thank me later. Our server Victor was very professional and always helpful with fresh napkins and drink suggestions. I will most definitely be back for more of those delicious eggs Benedict and brisket. Wonderful job everyone. Have a great day!

So I'm a little torn about rating this place. I really want it to be 5/5, but there are just a few things that just made me unable to reach a 5-star review. Let's see... First off, the ambiance is great. The front half of the restaurant and the bar area is a little dark (probably on purpose), the back half is bright, so depending on your mood, you can have it either way. The total dining area combined is actually quite spacious. The decor is nice and classy. The service is great, very professional and courteous. You'll also notice that a lot of the guests are Cubans, which probably tells you that their cuisine is authentic. We ordered a few things: 1. Croquettes: a little too mushy inside but it was fried and crispy on the outside. The accompanying sauce was great though. 2. Ceviche: this is probably my #1 disappointment of the night, for some reason it was quite bland. The ingredients were good but I think it would do much better with a little more tangy flavor and maybe some onion too 3. Fried plantains: this is my second disappointment of the night, it wasn't as sweet as i was hoping for, and the texture was a little mealy... However I'm not sure whether this was their fault, because honestly it's hard to find a quality plantain in the US to begin with. You can only do so much if your basic ingredient is not top notch 4. The Paella Mariscos, quite satisfying. Finally some good food. I might have had better ones in a few other places but their version certainly fits the bill, no complaints from me here. 5. The Ripa vieja + Vaca frita duo. Great! A must have. Although i must say, i think the Vaca Frita is better than then Ripa vieja. Next time i go back, I'll only get the Vaca Frita instead. 6. Their drinks are quality. We asked for our drinks to be less sweet and more in the dry side, and they adjusted nicely. 7. Their prices are fair for NYC standards especially in this area. So all in all, is this the best Cuban restaurant in the US? Probably not, but if you're in the area, certainly you should try and go there. You'll be satisfied.

The staff was so friendly. We had a great time. Food was delicious. A tad bit pricy but for the area it was expected. We sat at a booth table and it was perfect. Womens bathroom needed a little tending too but all and all fabulous 👌 👏

Delicious Cuban food. Highly recommend the sampler platter to try different flavors. The Ropa Vieja was juicy, tasty, and perfectly seasoned. But the highlight was the Guayabitas de Maria!!!

The food is good but not great. The drinks are the same and small for the price. We got the Havana Spice and La Jefe for drinks. La Jefe was enjoyable. For appetizers we had the Bartolito (bad and microwaved) and the Special of the day which was apparently a giant tomato with watery avocado dressing (it's like your child making breakfast for you). For the main course we had the PARGO EN CAMISA DE PLÁTANO (fish with plantain crust) and PONLE ROPA A LA VACA (Duo: Skirt & Braised steak) . The fish was decent but the steaks were both dry and salty. The portion was also small. The atmosphere: Just ok. The bathrooms are located downstairs and this woman was just lingering there on her cellphone-it was creepy and I didn't realized she worked there. The main dining room has way too many seats for comfort. The day was slow and we had 3-4 waitstaff constantly come over. It's hard to complain or praise that because when attention is not given you feel it. The main area had a nice view of the bar and glass that separated outside. Overall, I probably would not return. The first experience was good enough and there was nothing that would compel me to return. If you have not tried it and do decide to go please try the fish.

Great dine in experience. Not a five star because it is fairly loud inside. The food tastes great. The appetizers are a bit overcooked BUT! The Cubano is on point! The pork entree is very good as well! Would recommend IF you are a huge fan of cubanos and pork! The seasonal mojito is fantastic!

Absolutely wonderful experience. Food was delicious. Service was one of the best I have ever experienced. All the food presentation is high quality with excellent presentations skills. Portions are on the smaller side but are good. We ordered croquettes and tostadas for appetizer. Really enjoyed both. A little ceviche that we each enjoyed a little spoonful (4 people of 6 ate it). Just enough to get us to dinner. The ropa Viejas was delicious. The desserts were really good. Tres leches and the churros. If you're in between. Get the tres leches you won't be disappointed. Would absolutely be back here again. The restaurant is also very nice and makes you feel like it's fine dining. 100% believe it's a great option for a date, or special occasion. Is a bit pricey but worth going for a special evening. Restaurant is in a good location, not far from times square. My parents absolutely loved it. FYI- we made reservation in advance (called in) about 2 days before and was easily able to get reservation for Saturday 5 PM. We got there when it opened, and by 530 the restaurant was 100% full. Highly recommend making reservations in advance. Also, they do require showing proof of vaccination.

The food was excellent! The staff was extremely helpful and caring. The only issue we had was my friend who has dietary restrictions. They got the order wrong, but they immediately fixed it and compt our drinks. Highly recommend!

True New York City landmark serving authentic Cuban cuisine. Victor's has long been a favorite of ours, and we never miss an opportunity to go when we are in the city. The cuisine is authentic and consistently well-seasoned and well-cooked. The waitstaff are attentive and have always made us feel welcome. Finally, the decor is a nod to Cuba while avoiding being over-the-top or kitschy. The restaurant books up pretty quickly for dinner, so reservations are a good idea.

Amazing food and staff! Everyone was very welcoming and respectful. Waiter was amazing. Easily book a reservation thru your phone without making a phone call.. Probably the best Latin food I've ever had, will definitely return to try out the rest of the menu!

Great food. Arroz con Pollo and Arroz w vegetables were wonderful. Easy to navigate menu for gluten free/ vegan diners. A little chaotic/ slightly long wait w the pre theater rush at 6:30 but that’s to be expected . We’ll b back for sure.

This was our first time in a Cuban restaurant. The food was excellent, perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. The beautiful decor and great music added to a wonderful experience here dining with friends. Definitely a great restaurant to visit before a Broadway show.

Very nice restaurant, the food is good, the restaurant is cosy and the staff is very nice and helpful! We had a good experience. The food arrived super fast, I am not used to it but everything was tasty. We had 2 drinks + 2 main course + 1 dessert for $115

The food was mediocre, the food and portions were tiny and overpriced for the food being so bland. The service was really slow we waited 20 mins for appetizers and even longer for the actual dishes. The server we saw a total of two times, wouldn’t recommend. The food looks stunning but tastes like garbage. There steak with chimichurri I had high hopes for it was hard to chew, tasted like smoke on the grill and had no flavor. The paella was just fishy and the Cuban sandwiches were sweet from the buns and lacking flavor from the actually meat.
