Save yourself the trouble and do not eat here. My family and I went to this specific steakhouse, despite all of the competition. We decided to go to this one because of the wonderful reviews. We were very disappointed. The employees acted terrible, so slow. I asked for several items that I did not receive. The steak was cooked horribly wrong. The French onion soup was full of salt. Whenever I spoke to the general manager he laughed in my face, and said it was impossible that my food was not made correctly because he owns a very successful restaurant. He tried to charge me for a glass of water, I said that’s fine but I’ll simply dispute it on my credit card. He waded up the receipt and told me to leave, very loudly. The server ran out the door and asked where his tip was. Such rude people

The is a nice and airy steak house. The bar was hopping and restaurant section was busy but socially distanced. The wait staff was attentive. The food was delicious. The steaks and lamb chop were perfectly cooked and juicy. The desserts were the only thing that did not impress us. The whipped cream with each dessert nor the desserts were tasty. They were bland. We had the choc mouse, carrot cake and cheesecake.

This steakhouse was a wonderful dining experience. The food and the atmosphere was fantastic. Cash and credit are both accepted. Parking was a bit difficult with metered street parking, but free after 7pm. The staff was friendly and charming. This is more of a fine dining establishment but no issues with dress code. 2/2023

This place was great! We are from NC and not really a fan of NYC. But we honestly felt like we were part of the family here. We treated so nice and the service was phenomenal. The food was so good and they even catered to our picky kids.

We were looking for a place to grab dinner near our hotel and at first we were skeptical from the photos we saw in previous reviews. That was not the case. Service was attentive and consistent from the start and carried on throughout our dinner. The food was indeed immaculate, the atmosphere was comforting, the cocktails were excellent and the food was even better. We ordered the “steak for 2” which consisted of half filet half sirloin, our sides were sautéed broccoli, and mashed potatoes. We were served our food at the table, in a classic french serving style, for a first time it was strange but intriguing at the same time. At the end we were too full for dessert but we will definitely be back again in the near future for that and more!

Had an excellent dinner here. Food was very good, starting with the appetizers, bacon with tomato and onion (make sure to ask for their sauce to go along with it), to the steak and sides and topped off with dessert. Service was top notch too - Julio was super friendly and gave excellent recommendations. They also have a good wine selection and their cocktails are great too. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great steakhouse.

We had the french onion soup, steak, lamb, cheesecake and chocolate moose cake. The steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The desserts were also very good. The wait staff were so sweet and really welcoming. The only reason I didn’t give this restaurant a 5 rating was because of the decor. It was a bit outdated.

Decent steak restaurant in midtown. The steaks themselves were pretty good: good cuts, cooked to order, and delicious. The appetizers and sides were OK; the lobster bisque wasn't the best but still tasted good. The service was very good. If looking for just pure steaks I'd recommend this place, but otherwise you may want to try more specialized restaurants.

Everything was amazing the atmosphere, food, drinks, service. The only reason for 4 stars I asked for my rib eye to be well done and there was pink which i could taste the difference. I'm not a fan of medium well so I ate the end pieces that were well done and took the rest home to cook it in my oven. I heard too many stories sending food back to the kitchen and they don't do anything or spit on it. Lobster mac and cheese was super delicious even a day later. They'd get 5 stars had my main attraction, the steak was done right.

Only had time for one steak session in NYC and I’m so happy I came here. Staff were super courteous (aside from the female hostess at the door - she was super unbothered, not nice and should not be the first point of interaction when you get into the restaurant) Aside from that, the food was excellent. Caesar salad was tasty, they had a good wine list, and we ordered the steak for 2 to share between 3, and even that was a lot for us. So for anyone visiting NYC and maybe not used to portions, the steak for 2 was very large! Would definitely come back.

The epitome of NYC Steakhouse! We came here for restaurant week. The calamari was crispy, flavorful and tender. The Dry Aged Sirloin steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Tender, tasty and juicy. It's a large piece of steak so I wasn't able to finish it and it made for great leftovers on a salad bed! The staff were professional and friendly. The facilities are clean. I'd definitely come here again. It's great for a date night, to impress your family, or to catch up with friends.

It is a nice restaurant and the service was good. But forget about the food! We wanted a light dinner and ordered the hamburger. Fries weren’t fresh, burger didn’t have any taste! We had a plate of mac and cheese to share that had to send back because it was far from what we would eat.

The t-bone “steak for two”, the canadian bacon and the salmon was so delicious. The bowl of bread was perfect for the children to wait the food.

I came here for NYC Restaurant Week, they had a prefix menu of an appetizer, entree, dessert, and a bottle of wine. We chose the Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon. I had the Ribeye steak cooked medium with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was cooked perfectly and they even have their own Ben & Jack Steak sauce which was pretty tasty. Great service while we were seated and the chocolate mousse cake was great as well! Great experience and will probably return for another steak!

The service was fantastic, our waiter was very very kind and even gave us a round of drinks and dessert on the house because we had a bit of a wait and were brought one wrong appetizer. The steaks were perfect and had amazing crust and the signature dry aged flavor. If you drive there is a discount in the parking lot next door also. I'll definitely be back here.

We had an incredible experience at this restaurant. The steak for two was large and fulfilling, the French onion soup was delightful, and the broccoli and cheesecake were delicious. The server was attentive, waiting patiently for us to finish eating. The genuine service and amazing flavors made it a memorable meal. The convenient location, just below our hotel, added to the overall experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking outstanding food, excellent service, and a charming atmosphere. This place is a true gem!

This is by far my favorite steak house in NY! I go business dinners and special occasions with family. The steak is always perfectly cooked and flavorful, the service is amazing and most of the staff seem to recognize us and make us feel welcome and special. The atmosphere is always amazing and fun. The bartenders are Pros and make delicious drinks.

We came here for a friends birthday and Ben & jacks did not disappoint. I’ve been to the many steak houses across NYC this place can compete with the best of them. The Porterhouse for three was perfectly season the char was fantastic and the temperature did not disappoint we asked for medium rare few pieces were strongly rare some medium but it wasn’t a big deal for anyone that grills big pieces of steak we understand that different parts reach the desired temperature at different times. We ordered the thick cut bacon which was crispy and tender. The crème brûlée was awful but that’s okay not a turn off for me. I will be back.

Seafood pasta really good except lobster over cooked. Huge portions. Chilean sea bass best my wife has ever had. Our quest had petite filet which was outstanding. Hot fudge sundae exceptional. Great service

Food was fine. But the server attitude was suck.. we order wine list but there are nothing to order so I give hime again. And then my gf want to get some white wine so I request wine list again. Then it's seems head of server or manager say I give you aready 2 times by shouting. Also he throw the dish etc. After I finish the food I try to say manager but the manager aready know about this problem it' seems not this time also many custome seems complain about service. Manager also have problem. I don't know why they didn't change the manger and server.. So I would never go this restaurant again ever..

My daughter and I stumbled upon Ben and Jacks in 2016 while I was on business in New York- the absolute BEST FOOD EVER!! The entire experience was impeccable!! Fabulous waiter ( Enoch) and most delicious food . I made it a mandatory stop when I went back to New York in 2021. Luckily I had the very same waiter ( Enoch) who eventually did remember us from the past. It will be my place to visit each time I'm in New York !
