I finally made it to Chelsea Market during my most recent visit to NY, and it did not disappoint! I love finding new market places and this one literally has everything. I couldn’t post all the pictures I took, but anything you can imagine this place having, it has. There are over 20 places to eat, with all kinds of options (Jamaican, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Seafood, etc), there is something for everyone. After you eat, there is wine tasting, shopping, grocery, souvenirs, dessert, flowers, art work, etc. We ate at La Devozione and Lobster Place Seafood Market. Both were amazing! There is too much to see in one visit (we spent 3 hours there), but I had a great time and I can’t wait to return.

Incredible cool food market. And forget about other food markets you may have visited in the past. Here you have EVERYTHING and more in terms of food. Since the market is in a former Oreo factory the whole setting has something industrial and cool. I can‘t recommend a special restaurant but no matter what you want to eat - they‘ll have it there.

This place is a fantastic indoor market! 🛒 Chelsea Market has an endless selection of delicious 🤤 restaurants 🍴, food stands 🍱 offering cheese 🧀, meat 🍖, pizza 🍕, sweets 🧁, fish 🐟, shellfish 🦐, donuts 🍩, bagels 🥯, and so much more alongside gift 🎁 shops, clothing 👕 stores, and stocked groceries stores! 🏪 It's so fun to walk 🚶 around here and explore 🔍 the market. I wish I came here more often and had more time here! ⏳

This market is near the southern entrance of the High Line, so you can consider visiting these 2 attractions together. This is a very cool market to visit as a tourist. There’s so many food options to eat from (Western, Korean, Japanese, Tacos, Seafood, chocolate, meat etc.). Apart from food, there is a huge variety of shops selling products ranging from flowers to books and toys / souvenirs! Overall, a good place to stop by for lunch and to do some shopping.

This is a great place for food and everyday "stuff". A great selection of restaurants that span seafood, tacos, bakery, coffee shops, Thai foods, etc. We were there to witness the Halloween decorations. Fun.

Very cool market. Independent markets selling everything known to man. Grocery items, independent artist goods, flea market, etc. I get the feeling it’s only a tourist thing, which, as a tourist, i really enjoyed! It’s free to enter, take some time to walk through all the vendors. We went specifically for Heatonist! Long love Hot Ones!

Oh how I wanted to love this place - but oh how disappointed I was. Went for dinner and pretty much everything except a few places were closed. We did have tacos at Los Tacos and they were fantastic as was the food at the BBQ joint in the basement. But other than that it was a huge disappointment.

Chelsea Market is a must-stop for foodies. In a former biscuit production workshop, with an industrial aesthetic, there is a huge variety of different cuisines for all tastes. From breakfast to dinner. Chelsea Market is one of the best food markets in New York and is considered one of the best places to eat. It is worth combining with a walk on the High Line.

It’s a good place for tourists and locals. The food there is so delicious and not expensive. Also there are lots interesting stuff to be discovered. Some small shop services amazing food, definitely worth trying. It surprises me every time.

Updated 12-29-23 Visited Chelsea Markets today to see the Gingerbread Lane display by Jon Lovitch. It was great to see all of the fun and creatively made gingerbread pieces. I can see the time and energy that went into its creation. When I say that children were salivating its not an exaggeration! I do wish that the Markets had a better set up for them though. It was hard to see some of the amazing detail especially in the pieces further back. It was also very very crowded so photos were challenging for sure! Everything pita including stew in a pita or as pictured...fish and chips in a pita. It was delicious and highly recommended.

It's a cozy and warm place to be at during winter, it's nicely decorated but it also felt a bit underwhelming, maybe I expected something else. There are some cool shops though. And people are very friendly.

Nice ambience with old industrial chic along the long path, which is lined with lots of food on the right and left. From a culinary point of view, a visit to the Chelsea Market is like a trip around the world. Unfortunately, there are not enough other shops so that visitors can discover more and stay longer. The renovation of the old building itself was successful.

Very elegant place to be and lots to shop to explore. I was not able to explore each of this, it was great. Few things I really liked it was very clean even the restroom. Chelsea market has good bakeries, foods also other items.

I love walking through Chelsea Market and seeing all the quaint shops. It was nice to see it busy again. Lots of history and I love the restoration of the building. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and left up for us to enjoy into January.

Wonderful use of the old Oreo factory in the meat packing district. Stopped off here while walking the High Line and wasn't disappointed. Plenty of eateries, shops and vendors selling a huge range of unique goods.

This was really cool to check out. Great if you are in a group and want to get different kinds of cuisine. They have lots of boutique shops as well and the toilets downstairs were nice and clean. They had spaces all around decorated for Halloween too which was really cool! Great place for families to go.

Chelsea Market is a great place where you can spend a whole day. They have everything you desire, from small boutique shops to almost every type of food imaginable. My favorite spot is the seafood section – the best oysters, crab, etc. I haven't found better oysters anywhere, even in restaurants I've visited.

Chelsea Market, nestled in the heart of New York, is a cornucopia of culinary delights and unique shopping experiences, wrapped in an ambiance that’s both intriguing and vibrant. Here’s what makes it a must-visit and a few things to keep in mind: Pros: • Diverse Culinary Offerings: A paradise for foodies with a rich assortment of global cuisines. • Unique Atmosphere: A fascinating mix of historical architecture and modern culinary culture. • Cultural Experience: A chance to dive into a world of diverse flavors and traditions. • Shopping Variety: An eclectic selection of shops offering unique gifts and souvenirs. Cons: • Overwhelming Crowds: Can get very crowded, making navigation and finding seating challenging. • Mixed Sensory Experience: The combination of aromas from various food vendors may not appeal to everyone. • Limited Seating: Peak hours see a scarcity of seating areas. • Perception of Price: Prices may be perceived as higher compared to other dining options in the city.

Great indoor market with lots of unique stores and restaurants. Lots of air conditioning so perfect place to stop and escape the heat. Easily accessible from high line park if you are out for a walk and need to take a break and grab some food.

alright is what i’ll say. what i did was walk through it. not really stopping anywhere, but it was a nice walk through. they have restaurants, small stores, and things like that while you walk through this market. it was inside and had fans which was nice. it was pretty. maybe if you have more time to really walk around and eat you might enjoy it more than i did.

A bustling inside city market! A perfect place for brunch, lunch or dinner with an outstanding variety of different cuisines for everyone. Not only for eating, there are also tonnes of little outlets to shop around in for books, souvenirs and gifts. A lovely way to spend a winters morning too, with lots of lovely coffee suppliers!

That wonderful Sunday morning experience was everyone needs in New York City! An eclectic mix of artisanal shops offering g everything from food, ice cream, pizza, to knock-knacks, organic produce and fashion. Great for Sunday brunch options, people watching and a general feel of what’s great about this city. I’d recommend it to everyone, visitors and residents alike.

Lovely market, delicious food. We tried dishes from a couple of different vendors; however, disappointingly, when we went at noon, several of the eateries were still closed with no sign of opening any time soon. There's plenty of outdoor seating with roofing and heating all around the outside to take your meal out to.

Another pleasure you can find. Food, things to see. If you pay attention to the history of this place, you can experience greater surprises from the space. This was a factory. It was a hangout for artists and became the current mall. It is definitely one of the must-see attractions in New York, but the prices of goods and food are not cheap. But I was especially surprised and delighted that there was a bookstore here.

Great place to shop and eat. Decorated nicely for the holiday season. Clean bathrooms, large variety of places to eat. Some places close by 6 so go early if you want fresh baked goods. But still had a lot of places open to have a drink in the evening or have a late meal.

This market is very close to Whitney Museum so I wanted to show my MIL this place and grab a quick dinner here. We didn't have enough time to look around the whole area but had a nice dinner at Lobster Place. A great place to shop or eat. I highly recommend anyone who's visiting to Whitney Museum or The High Line.

I love Chelsea Market. My favorite place is Los Tacos n. 1. I love the Italian store on the bottom floor as well. They have such a great variety of food and other shops. It can get extremely busy but I enjoy it.

Love these old factory turned market buildings. Old world meets modern. Good galore. Great vibe. Fun place. Even for this ol southerner. True meat butcher shop with real deal salami. We enjoyed ourselves.

So many unique places are suffering vacancies but this place is full of adventure in a beautifully restored building. The location couldn't be better right next to the Hi Line and it was an easy and pleasant walk to it from our hotel at Washington Square. I would come here often if I was local and recommend it on your list of sights. There is a fantastic selection of restaurants, each with its own character and style. There is indoor and outdoor seating, a convenience store and the venue has been furnished brilliantly.

I decided that i really wanted to visit the Chelsea market. I had my heart set of going to the Lobster Market. They open at 11am and it was only 9:30am so i had alot of time to kill. The last time i visited here was pre-pandemic. Alot of construction has finished. Everything looks great. I love how beautifully all the shops and restaurants are set up. Downstairs is also really nice and has the bathrooms, more shops and more food. Its amazing. I do wish there was more maps to show you were each shop is and the map should have one of those "you are here" dots, you know what i mean?. You can get a little lost if your looking for a specific spot. However the fall/Halloween decor they have set up is great. Everything is just beautiful. I ended up stopping at Sarabeth's first. They open super early and you can sit on the tables outside the shop and eat your food. They do check for vaccination cards. I ordered the ice coffee and chelsea market sandwich which is basically a bacon, egg and cheese on fancy bread. The bread was thick looking but so SOFT, fluffy and chewy inside. I absolutely loved it. It was extremely filling. The eggs were super fluffy. I loved it. The coffee was okayy. I'm glad they offered iced coffee because that's my jam. After this i went down to wash my hands and face in the bathroom. The bathrooms are really clean. I seen a women down their cleaning consistently. Everytime someone left a stall she went in. At 11am i walked over to Lobster Place. This place is the absolute best. I wasn't the only one waiting to get in. There was at least 10 people waiting. This place is popular and for good reasons. I sat immediately at the Oyster bar, that's what i went for. They checked my vaccination card and every other person who walked in and sat down. I was able to get my order in really quickly. I first ordered 6 oysters and a diet coke. I got the merasheen bay, coleville bay, eel lake, duxbery gem, orient point pearl and widow's hole. I loved them all. There were two smallers ones that i loved the best. Too bad i didnt know which was which. I would of only ordered more of those. But honestly they were all so good i ended up getting a second order. I ended up eating 12 oysters all by myself. Overall i really enjoy coming here. Its honestly best to come early. The lunch rush is bananas and can be overwhelming. Also map out where the store/restaurant you want to visit is at. That way you know where to navigate to when you arrive. I will be coming back soon.

It’s definitely a lovely spot. Google says it opens from morning, but actually most of shops open at 11:00am. From food side, there are famous bakeries, Korean food, fresh noodles, Italian pizza and BBQ. There are also many designer shops. It’s a great place to hang out and have lunch.

An interesting, diverse and cozy place! Everyone who is visiting New York has to go there and feel its vibe! Stroll through a preserved building that has a classic look with its pipes and exposed bricks. With restaurants, several shops, there’s even a market 😜

Really fun place to spend time and try out different delicious food options. Love the amount of seating areas and outdoor seating as well. One place I really recommend is very fresh noodles! The tacos seem very famous but I've had better tacos before! Hours can be a little deceiving - they say they open at 7 am but most of the restaurants don't open until 11am!

Lots of interesting foods. Portuguese tarts are just as good as the real thing! Lots of tourists, but it's very safe, clean, friendly, and no one is in a hurry. It is similar to other large food markets around the world. I think you'll probably get a better price and taste from somewhere else, but the markets are certainly worth walking through and sampling.

Great place to walk around exploring the shops and variety of food places to choose from. Most places are expensive here so I pick and choose where to spend when visiting. I tried the tacos place since it had great reviews and unfortunately only had one vegetarian option which turned out to be disappointing.

A must! This place was awesome for the foodie inside! There are nice shops and they did a great job with this market. Will go back again, it was a highlight for me on our trip. Don’t forget to walk the high line after this!

Beautiful place! From food to people to atmosphere. The place is filled with different food. Love the vibe, downside was the prices of everything were high and in USD. One oyster sells for $3.5USD plus taxes. Thats a $5 cad per oyster. But got to say they were super fresh!! Every corner was aesthetic, even the powder room.

Really clean and tidy indoor market plenty of food vendors inside definitely a place to come and eat. Lots of stuff around to answer any questions and guide in a direction if required. Really nice to see hand sanitizer stations as well. Coming up to Halloween when I visited and clearly lots of money had been spent on decorations some even with flowing water really adding to the effect. Fantastic place to come would be more than happy to visit again.

A really interesting and quirky place! If you have time, definitely give it a go. I walked there on the High Line which made it much faster to get to. Lots of places to eat and a lot cute shops. Found some unique souvenirs here too.

An interesting mix of shops, retail and food options aplenty. You will unlikely go hungry here. Most of the options are above average but nothing to shout about. Fairly pricey as well. Good place to get a gift or two for someone. Google’s office is right opposite!
