I came in expecting my mind to be blown and instead wasn't even impressed. The cocktails were disappointing considering they are designed by the folks from Please Don't Tell (and are the main attraction). The tipples are on par with basically any reasonably good cocktail bar in NYC -- but no better. The food was much worse. It came in nice portion sizes -- a little on the small side, a welcome touch given the premise of bar food -- but it just wasn't all that tasty for the price. My burger wasn't exceptional. Better than average, but nowhere near good enough to justify a twenty something dollar price tag. The fried chicken tasted like something from a state fair, very bread and oil forward. The Little Gems were watery and flavorless. The space itself is gorgeous and tasteful, but you get the impression you're paying for the vibe, not the food or service, and that's just not something I can dig.

I was impressed by the entire feel of Ada’s place - you are greeted by the beautifully decorated bar back as soon as you get upstairs but the majority of the space is tucked away in the rear. Cozy and swanky all the way down to the menu design. All of this would not be written if my cocktail wasn’t absolutely delicious. I wish I took a picture of my mezcal and carrot before I tasted it but couldn’t help myself once I did.

Severely disappointed. A cocktail was $18, fine, I expected that. But not when paired with a bartender who was as unknowledgeable and unhelpful as he was unfriendly. The bar was pretty barren on a Saturday night, and a Saturday night of comicon at that. Reminded me of a hotel bar, and is not a bar I would go out of my way to.
