👍👍 This is the best cafe with Russian and Ukrainian cuisine. Interesting interior design made in the style of a railway car of the 90s. Separately, I want to mention the male waiters, they are very friendly and friendly. People often mention prices, good, Russian, time, table,

I enjoyed my visit, just as much as I used to 20 years ago. This place didn't change much, everything is still made fresh, tasty and the bill will surprise you in a good way. The atmosphere is somewhat noisy but nothing excessive. Crowd, as you can expect, composed of ex-USSRs - both babushkas and young people. Dishes are huge. Kompot is a drink you should try, comes in pitchers. Waiters are fast but busy, so they don't trouble you with too many unnecessary questions.

Good Russian food and fast service at fair prices! Since it was our first time there, one of the women could've been nicer; she expected us to know everything and wasn't very helpful. They seem to be nicer if you speak Russian. All the staff zoom past you when the restaurant gets busy (it got very busy on a Sunday at 3pm!) I was impressed at how well they clean each table after each use even when they're very busy (not normal in NYC even if a restaurant isn't busy.) I might go back.

I can’t ever get enough of this hidden gem. They’re always consistent every single time and I’ve been ordering from this spot for maybe 15 years now. My go to dishes are the pan fried Branzino with mashed potato’s, lamb ribs, beef stroganoff, chicken broth and or borscht, Vareniki with meat, and everyone gets their Siberian pelmeni. You can even order frozen ones if you want to have some at the ready in your freezer.

BE AWARE OF BAD SERVICE I would not even give a one star. So sad.. We were four people and patiently were waiting when table for us would be available. As u can see only table for two was available. New customers came after us ,couple. They were also patiently waiting. Finally, the lady got time to clean table for SIX and give it to new customers . BUT not for us . She looked at couple and said them to come and sit … We asked if they maybe had reservation, and serving lady lied to us , “they gonna be 5 “ !!! She lie , after we heard that couple were looking for table for TWO PERSON!!! Waiters left us with a word “ wait for available table” We left. I am really upset. I came to that place for the first and last time. Maybe it happened for better to us. At least got couple candies.

Great place for home-style Russian food. I've been coming here (not too frequently) for over 10 years and the food is consistently good. The prices for this type of food are better than most other places that I know. The place is adorned in Soviet-style art and posters, which is quite interesting.

This is the best restaurant I have been to in NYC so far. I've been to about 15 or so. This is the best. Everything was 10/10. The fish, the beer, the sides, dumplings, blintzes, cooked apple, salads, coleslaw, borsch. Everything 10/10. And the prices are very fair. Incredible place. I went here on my birthday. Best birthday feast I've had in a long time.

Absolutely lovely place. This spot is loved by many people. It’s simple and cozy. Staff is always nice. Everyone greets you and you feel very welcome. They have very Good variety of food. Prices are decent. We Had grilled fish (16,99$) salad and crepes. Everything was just amazing! I only wish crepes size was bigger. They were kinda small and I really believe they should be a little more... Other than that. Will definitely come back and will recommend!!!

Stolovay, that truly shares the LOVe. Services were fast and comfy. Food is cooked to perfection, with perfectly balanced flavors. The interior gave a real Soviet vibe. Love it.

Just go here. Been going here for like 15 years. The quality remained consistently high and the price fairly low. If you don't speak/read russian make sure to ask for the english menu if they don't give it to you. In any case, this is definitely a gem worth checking out.

So good place to dine in, but if you like some dietary dishes, definitely you should try delicious salad and slavic "brown rice" - buckwheat! If you're first time here, try their's cappuccino and cotleta po kievski!! The waiters are positive

Really good and cheap place for Russian food. Big portions. Always crowded. I know a lot of people who like this place. Food fresh, no complaints. Busy location on Coney Island avenue. Really big choice of dishes. Self made drinks. Any type of food preference could be satisfied. I recommend this place.

Real USSR style food with good service and beer on tap. Can get a bit crowded on the weekend but fast service and big portions make it worthwhile.

An update: visited this place recently: prices got much higher! Food got a bit worse, sizes are a bit smaller. Ordered grilled fish - was too fatty and soggy. My wife didn't eat it. French fries were also soggy. Looking at the menu- Prices wise- fried potatoes with mushrooms is $13?! That's greedy. 2 sticks of shish kebab (shashlik) from beef is $14?! That's grabby! No side-dishes are included for that place. It's a no for me. What a pity, it used to be a great and delicious cafe! Awesome Russian cuisine cafe! The food is authentic, portions are nice, prices are affordable. The staff is pleasant, always double-checks on orders making sure they are correct. The kitchen gives food fast! Food itself is tasty, you can't go wrong with salads, soups, or entrees. As a desert we order "pirogi" (vareniki) with cherries and with sweet cheese. For the prices - you get a great portion on your plate. Really happy with this place!

Best Russian/Ukrainian food, prices are great too. Way better place than any Brighton beach spots.

I ordered a kebab and it was the most disgusting food I have ever eaten: tough, tasteless meat with a huge amount of salt. I said this to the waitress, she just shrugged her shoulders and asked to pay the bill, which already included a huge tip. I still feel like I ate something spoiled. The salad wasn't much better. DISGUSTING PLACE.

The Borcht makes a great start for a meal as did the Mushroom varenyky. The highlight of my lunch was the rabbit with white sauce which tasted like turkey albeit more boney. The cherry punch was nice with just the right amount of sweetness. The prices were not bad at all. The place was a little small but the tables can be placed together if one is dining with a large group. There is only one washroom so just be prepared to exercise patience.

Granted this place claims an unique handle on Soviet style food it is still located in New York and should have a menu in English. Our first choice was unlucky. Liver, Turkish style was awful, not fresh, over breaded and very salty. Had to be sent back. Schnitzel was better but still too generously salted. The tap beer is served with a ton of foam on top. There were no sodas on the menu. The borscht was good. Very ordinary place after all. Not sure the cook is good either.

At 730pm on a Saturday I was told there's only buckwheat available as a side for any dish and it would take too long for cooks to make mash or rice. Server said there's no nuts in the ice cream, there were. Find a better spot to go to then here

Feels like my grandma cooks the food for me. Karasiki are my fav. I was looking for them all over Brooklyn. It’s only the place who has it. Our waiter Alan was very kind and friendly. Lovely place.
