I brought my mother for a doctors appointment. The doctor and nurses were all great. However the receptionist at Station 14 named Laura was very rude and treated me and my mother very disrespectful. Laura is a terrible representation of NYU. I probably will not come back if I have to deal with her. After our appointment we had to request a follow-up appointment. My mother and I waited at the desk as we were told. Laura was on the phone and sounded like she was arranging an appointment for another patient. She was giving them options on available dates. Once she got off the phone she told us to step back for social distance. Understanding, we moved back and we dismissed that someone a few minutes before us was at her desk and she didn't tell them to move back. Then we tell her we need an appointment. She goes on her computer and prints out a paper and hands it to us. She never asked us if the date works for us or any time options. I asked her if another time is available. She said no. I said what other day is available. She then started to speak over me to the person standing behind us in line. We were being treated different and I hope it wasn't because the color of our skin. Disappointed NYU has employees like this. If she doesn't have hospitality or respect for the patients, she should not work there.

It seems not that clean . Service seems ok. There was an air filter in grandma’s room , but the filter seems has thick dust. I told the nurse, she said will find service person to change it . I stayed there for over 1.5 hours, I didn’t see any changed. It’s Sunday 7:00pm .

My mother was admitted to Lutheran/NYU at the beginning of October for 5 days. The care is outrageously substandard—nurses who who refused to provide updates on how my Mom was doing b/c of “privacy” (I’m her HCP), a different NP every day who had to be asked multiple times each day to call with a medical update only to be told that they didn’t “know her” and hadn’t reviewed her chart. A new diagnosis was placed in her chart and in her notes; but not one clinician could confirm it—just a random nurse who blurted it out in passing. My mother was left in a bed for almost an entire week—no hygiene provided, was never assisted out of bed to sit in a chair, was never ambulated—and now she has open pressure wounds that she did not have when she arrived to the hospital. As a nurse myself for many years, I can say with certainty that it is a disgraceful environment and not fit for human care.

What a horrible experience I had at this place today, 07/26/2022. I simply went for a mandatory covid test for work. It was my first time at this facility. The woman who tested me must have had a vendetta against me because she went so far up my nose with the test she almost poked my eye ball. I told her to not do that again to the other nostril but not only did she disregard this request she did it harder on the other nostril. I immediately called for the woman's supervisor. She acted dumbfounded by my complaint. I said to her that she is supposed to help people not hurt them. But she completely blew off my concerns. I will never ever ever ever go to this facility again. I have had over 500 covid tests since the pandemic started and never one like this. This woman should be charged with assault. Or be sued for medical malpractice. I'm going to try to get my company to end their contact with this facility. They do not care at all about the patient's well being.

Went with a friend to have a biopsy. Check in was easy, the staff were very attentive. It's nice that they have a Cafe and cafeteria on site. Located in an industrial area. Security on premises. Overall looks clean and neat.

Dr. Sterling who works with adult medicine is amazing. She is my Doctor. Martina who is one of the front desk is THE ONLY NICE AND PROFESSIONAL woman upfront. If you are checking in or want to schedule a follow up appointment, speak with Martina so the front deak can be put in their place. The rest of everyone else is rude. They are the face of the hospital and they should know better. They put on a show. They should get fired. Its people like them that make you not want to go to the hospital. I would give this place no star if I could! The way they talk to you and how they handle themselves gets your aggravated. I just need to rant on here about them.

Very understaffed hospital that doesn’t give adequate care and communication to patients. There’s a revolving door of doctors and that want to spend less than 5 minutes. It’s very impersonal and stressful with the inconsistencies. I wasn’t discharged properly - they had me listed as ‘already discharged’ before I was…so sitting in a hospital room waiting to leave with no doctor or plan for my heavy medication load. Incredible.. I could go on and on but definitely not good experience if you are needing to be hospitalized.

I have to give them at least four stars because they really saved my life. However it wasn’t the best experience that could be had at a hospital. I had major surgery and was in the worst pain imaginable, and the nurses were being extremely stingy with pain killers. I had to literally cry and plead over and over just to get the proper dosages I needed which is absurd. I know there’s a pain killer abuse epidemic but they need better training to know when people are actually just hurting and need help. The hospital itself is nothing fancy but the rooms seem clean and there’s a tv for each patient, and the food is quite good for hospital food especially as a vegan. But most importantly my surgeon did a good job and I’m grateful for them.

This is for those who are here for labor and delivery, as well as private room stay after the birth of your child. Please keep in mind that your friends and family will not be able to effectively celebrate this amazing milestone with you, for the staff here implemented a rule to limit only two visitors allowed. Despite my wife giving birth to my child, me being their father actually counts as one of the visitors, which in essence means you're only allowed to bring ONE visitor. Since my wife is obviously bed bound after giving birth, only I was able to bring our visitor up to our room, which is located on the labor and delivery floor with various sections and can be extremely confusing to people who has never been here and people who don't speak great English. The hospital and staff claims that the two visitors rule is to prevent the spread of Covid, which would be understandable if the staff actually took preventative measures to curb the spread of Covid. As you can see in the pictures, the checkin staff and the security guards all do not wear a mask when interacting with potentially vulnerable people seeking sensitive care at NYU Langone...as a result, our friends and family had to take turns going in one at a time, which prevented families and couples from sharing in this amazing new experience together with their loved ones... I really thought NYU Langone stood for excellence and optimizing patient care and enhancing the quality of life of its patients, but this experience had shown me how rigid, insensitive, and lack of empathy the staff are. They don't care about protecting patients from Covid, nor do they care about keeping families together; if their policy dictates it, their staff would relentlessly and cruelly split families apart.. Below are pictures showing just how contradictory their rules are and how their own staff don't even care to protect the vulnerable.

Last night, we went to the emergency room for my 3-year-old daughter. The tall overweight nurse in the pediatric emergency didn't take care of my daughter for 4 hours because she didn't like me. My daughter was vomiting nonstop, she literally passed out. but no one was interested, only half an hour a black nurse saw us and said that no one is interested in you yet, she directed the doctor. The doctor looked at the biker and then didn't look at him and didn't say anything. I took my child out and they didn't even say not to go. I said I'm leaving because you weren't interested in leaving, they didn't say anything.

I recently had a colonoscopy at this hospital. I was shocked when I noticed that most of the staff were not wearing a mask including the doctor and the anesthesiologist. Yet, they insisted I wear a mask. I have been fully vaccinated and boosted. This was upsetting to me because I was having an invasive procedure. Also, the lack of empathy among some of the nurses. I had better care at a surgical center.

Had my son on Monday there. It was one of the best experiences I've had in a hospital. my daughter was born 4 years ago in Lutheran and it was a different feeling and vibe . Everyone was nice and joking . The nurses gave anything we needed and the TV is free. The rooms were upgraded as well. I was impressed how they truly wanted to make us feel at home. Thank you to all the nurses. And to the head nurse in charge who gave us heartwarming advice on how to deal with my daughters emotions with a new baby. We are extremely grateful thank you

The hospital and area are dirty. The support staff is extremely nasty and unpleasant. I suspect racism. I was visiting my elderly aunt. Gaining access is a hard task, there is always along line with one person slowly checking ID and Vax cards. Zero courtesy. I can’t comment on the nurses or doctors because I never saw one. One of the most scary places. Nothing like NYU in the city. Everything is dirty. Parking is almost impossible. Area around the hospital is filthy and looks real dangerous.

This hospital is so poorly understaffed it borders on negligence in that they are all well aware of their resource constraints but continue to take patients. There is zero accountability among staff and its as if they dont even know each other let alone communicate patient care plans (to colleagues or patients). If an issue arises so serious that it needs to be escalated the most common response is not “I understand your concern and will try to figure out how to mitigate these issues,” but rather “oh well I wasn’t there.”

Horrible service at the dental office. So, I was asked to check in on the kiosk machine. The machine was giving me an error on the insurance page and asked me to check at the desk. Ok fine. The next time that I had a appointment for dental, I went to the desk and told the receptionist that the last time that I checked in, the machine gave me an error. She told me that I still had to check in. So, why do I have to check in twice when I can just wait on the line and check in one time at the desk. Doesn't make any sense. If the machine didn't give me an error then I would be happy to use it but if it's giving an error, then why would I waste my time using the kiosk? First, fix the glitch then tell patients to check in.

Labor and Delivery 3 stars for our labor and delivery experience. When we showed up at the hospital the nurse said she “couldn’t find my cervix” and sent us home. We were back in 3 hours in ungodly pain and new nurse confirmed I was in labor and I had the baby that day. I wish I could go back in time and ask for a different nurse the first time we arrived. While waiting to deliver the machines were beeping and making all kinds of noises so I could not sleep. After labor it was impossible to sleep as someone comes in your room about every hour. They don’t really promote sending your baby to the nursery so that you can sleep. Also there was hammering late at night due to construction and that was pretty bizarre. So when we got home with the baby I was going on about 3 nights of no sleep and it was a huge struggle. We paid extra for a private room but there was no cot for my husband to sleep on so he had to go home both nights. We didn’t receive very good lactation help and actually had many huge obstacles with breastfeeding and I wish we had been set up for success better at the hospital. Never got a latch that didn’t cause bleeding and scabbing, I left with zero milk supply, and was not educated about formula or supplementing. We were not prepared or informed on a lot of things regarding that. The lactation also told me to put cabbage on my breast to help with bleeding but it turns out that actually dries up your milk supply… All this being said my anesthesiologist and my delivery doctor were both amazing. I had a few good nurses too.

Do not come here through ER alone. I had to suffer 18 hours before my mom could be by my side and provide something as simple as water. I came in there 103 fever, severely dehydrated and hadn’t ate anything in 3 days. The nurses would bring me sips of water after I would beg and tell them if I don’t take sips of water I will choke and throw up acid. They would respond “then I am not giving you water it’ll make it worse.” So I would dry heave and cough up acid when begging for water didn’t work. The nurses had a good laugh at how they all forgot to submit my urine that doctors had been waiting for yet not one doctor approached my bed to tell me it was what they were waiting for while all the nurses and a PA lied to me about having submitted it.

Horrid!!! No worthy phone service if they even answer the phone to begin with! Absolutely horrible by all means!! The staff misinforms as if that's where they find all their glory, Dr's show up when they feel like it & then there was this 1 nurse who threw in my face that she took the patient in quickly when the patient arrived for the appointment as if seating/ treating the patient wasn't part of her duties to begin with, people if you can, save your money & find a private practice with reviews that are nothing like the ones you'll find here! I'd give zero stars if I could, mainly because of the rude & unworthy staff as well as the cleanliness, absolutely horrible, don't waste your time there!!

I spent a few days in NYU Langone Brooklyn recovering from appendicitis. The staff was extremely courteous and answered my questions where possible. The proactive communication was a bit lacking though. None of the nurses seemed to know anything about my treatment plan, other than what the Dr told them to do immediately. That was a bit frustrating. I was staying in Augustana and I have to say the rooms are quite dated. There is no shower in the room and it was extremely warm. Going for multiple days without showering is quite awful. Luckily, a resident was able to bring me to another room on my last day that had a shower. That is enough for me to consider going somewhere else in the future.

Got gallbladder surgery at this hospital, The Nurses are great and the emergency dept gets you right in a bed right away. The doctors are very rude and unorganized, never on the same page and take forever to respond to anything but the overall care and the nurses at this hosiptal you wont find at any other near by hospitals

What a shame that the NYU brand can be affiliated to this hospital. No comparison between Tisch Langone and Lutheran. The patient care at Brooklyn is less than mediocre. Rooms are not cleaned, linens are not changed, medication left for patient to take on their own when the nurse should be observing it’s ingestion. The wait line for my visitor pass was 30min with 8 people in line before me and I watched 2 people chatting at a computer not checking anyone in while another tried to help the line. Not happy. Hopefully the Langone facility expected to open in cobble hill will be better. Employee moral obviously low here.

I was a patient in the rusk rehabilitation unit in bklyn. The staff in rehab were excellent, helpful and ask what you would like to work on as far as your goals. The biggest problem with this facility is the size of the patient rooms.this is definitely a safety hazard, I'm surprised the state, city and OSHA allow this kind of thing to exist ,also the air conditioning system needs UPDATES. Stay safe and have a great day also can't forget Dr.fine who goes out of his way to make sure you understand all that is going on with your specific situation.

My mother was in the 5600 section. I spoke with the attendants and the nurses day-and-night. Almost every single one of them that I spoke with was wonderful. Including the attendance at the desk. They truly cared about my mother who was 88 years old and in very bad shape. The attendants at the desk were so caring and the nurses were so sweet. It made a very difficult time in my life to know that my mother was in a hospital 1200 miles away without me being able to see her or know what is going on to have peace of mind because of the way they acted. That includes doctor Chang and doctor Agar. My mother's personal doctor did not respond it was a woman so I have nothing to say about her. I pray that God would bless all those wonderful people that I dealt with in a very, very great way. For they were such a blessing to me.

I had my first baby in the labor, delivery department during the mother's day weekend. My husband and myself had a very good experience overall. A great reason is because the nurses we had. Most of the nurses we had were amazing and professional! They took the heart to do their job right and care for their patients! Special shout out to Christine, Adria, and Mariah from the delivering department, Olga and Zita from the postpartum department. As new parents, there are a lot to learn about how to take good care of an infant and about breastfeeding. Make sure you ask lots of questions and meet with the lactation consultant before you go home with the baby if you are interested doing breastfeeding.

I gave birth here a year ago. I had an amazing experience! I still remember a nurse name Kim who was there their for me when I was induced. She was such an amazing nurse. I also had an amazing night nurse after my correction. I don't remember her name but she was so sweet and gentle with my baby. She didn't make him cry when she had to check on him. If I was to get pregnant again I would low to go back. Even after I was discharged they would call to check in and someone who works with WIC in the hospital helped get thins going for us as well. I highly recommend expecting mothers to go there.

I'm thankful to this hospital who saved my father after a heart attack. And most of the staff are very nice and carrying. But this one lady she came to help my father do a EKG but she was sitting on the chair on the phone with her airpod and laughing so loud, non stopping talking to someone while my my father was doing Phisical therapy. It's very distracting. When she came over to my father, she didn't stop at all and worst. I asked her if she was OK for 3 times and she didn't stop. The physical therapist was like, "What's wrong with her. I respect all medical staff, but please be professional. In front of patients, please be PROFESSIONAL. I wish I had gotten her name, but her ID was flapped. Another ridiculous thing came up was from me giving from 2 stars to 1 star, the attending doctor told us we would be going to the regular room. And we wait 7am to now, now is 4:14pm, nurses been telling us they have a room and need to clean the room and now they told us they don't room and the other departments fault not there's. When you ask, their attitude is I don't know, I can't do anything and no answers. Nobody wants to go and look. The longer i stay here, the more disappointed I get.

My daughter had a difficult pregnancy but the staff at NYU LANGONE were extremely, attentive, helpful, polite and explained everything that was going on with her and the baby. As well as what they were going to do for her and the baby . They explained all of the procedures that they were going to do for her and the baby. And they explained all of the medicines that they were going to give her. They even explained all of her options on giving birth. They made sure that my daughter and her baby were comfortable and safe at all times. I am truly appreciative and impressed with the care my daughter and granddaughter received.

Worst hospital and staff I’ve ever encountered in my life. From info desk to security to charge nurse.. etc… this is beyond disgusting. Kicked every visitor out of the er and left them to rot in the waiting room. No updates on how our loved one is doing, not a single person working here has any business in this field where compassion should be at the top of the list of qualifications. My 83 year old mother in law was left to rot in a wheel chair with no information on how my father in law is doing in the back. One security had the audacity to think he could speak to her like garbage and that didn’t end well for him. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but Lutheran / Sunset Park Langone.

The staff on the first floor ( the entrance on 55th street)NYU Hospital at 150 55th street Brooklyn NY 11220 are the WORST!!! Especially the woman with the red hair. They have a sign up warning visitors to be respectful however they are rude and unprofessional. They also turn their ID tags around so you can’t see their names or tittles. It’s very disheartening to deal with people like this when you are there to visit a sick loved one.

I went to this hospital. Got sick on my way to work. EMS took me to there. I received an I.V of course they drew blood. After a few hours test was normal. The doctor discharge me. But then decided he wanted chest x-ray. I didn't decide to go see my doctor. I had Pneumonia. That doctor dropped the ball. I wonder if my skin color played a roll in him not ordering test. I came in sweating in the depth of winter.

They try to keep you there longer than you need. The Asian male nurse was abusive and broke hippa and told people information which is against the law. I rang my help bell for over two houses and know one came. It was dirty and the nurses and dr. We’re unprofessional and honestly inhumane. Go to Manhattan if you need to go to a ER there was a man in hand cuffs and I had a panic attack and it took them over two hours to give me any medicine. They were gross and I would never recommend this hospital I’m from Canada and know what healthcare should be. Especially if you’re a woman don’t go here. Overall good experience yesterday at NYU Langone Brooklyn ER: Total time though was from 2pm arrival to 6:30pm exit for an injury, but it was during Friday of New Years weekend (Dec 30, 2022) so most likely short handed. * Check-in at 2pm was simple enough: Receptionist found my info quickly in the system based on phone number and I got a bracelet and some checkin papers after ~5 minutes. * Wait time in waiting room wasn’t too long. Maybe waited ~15-20 minutes. Was busy watching the Terminator movie which was playing on their big TV. * Brought inside to another smaller waiting room which has an assigned nurse who took vitals and gave me an extra strength Motrin around 2:35pm. * Then the wait for xrays took some time (I didn’t think this was necessary as was pretty sure of issue and wasn’t bone related so I guess this is default check. Would have preferred MRI or ultrasound as I still need that to check damage details). I was wheeled in for the xrays and then wheeled back to waiting room around 3:15 pm. * Around 4pm, I was taken into an examination room for a foot exam which she concurred with my diagnosis, and then she went to get the resident orthopedic for further examination. He (L. Lin) came and performed some similar and more tests and also confirmed my diagnosis. He was excellent and eased some concerns and was very helpful in explaining next steps for Tue appointment for the hospital’s orthopedic senior, and created a custom cast on the spot by ~6:20 pm. The initial lady (resident or doc?) who brought me into the room, led me back to waiting room to wait for same nurse for checkout process. * The nurse (L. Cho) was great as well and took my vitals again before discharging me around 6:30pm. She was very busy, but was friendly, communicative, and very helpful as I saw how much effort and care she gave to an older lady in waiting room who needed more help. Update (Jan 18, 2023): This is about 2.5 weeks after- Received a follow-up call from someone from NYU Langone ER to check how I was and if any issues with pain/swelling etc…

I was instructed to come as a walk in today for a loose bridge with some nerve pain. I was told the wait was 4 hours. checked in at 10:23, and at 1:26 got a message asking me to leave a review for my appt. I came to front desk immediately and was told I am still on the list to be called back. At 2:43 came again to front desk to ask how much longer was the wait. At 3:50 was told by a supervisor that they called me several times (not true at all) and that my situation did not warrant a walk in. I never left the waiting rooms, never felt asleep so I know I was never called. Horrible experience today and I would recommend not coming here at all.

I am gladly and thankfully giving this review for Dr. Joshua Rozell whom I met after asking my primary care doctor for a referral to an orthopedic specialist. Dr. Rozell was direct and to the point when conversing with me and thorough in answer any and all questions, in my case about the hip replacement he would be performing. In addition to his meticulous approach to my surgery, he was understanding and encouraging in helping me overcome another health issue that ensured the best outcome possible after surgery with minimal bruising and discomfort and maximum healing.

I had a very bad experience when this hospital was Lutheran, was scared to go back. However I loved my doctor and decided to give it a shot. It was amazing! Everything was clean, staff on top of everything and most were kind and caring. Very high tech, everything streamlined in the app. Not sure about the emergency room or the surrounding neighborhood (very run down and dirty), but the hospital and the doctors were amazing!!

On Saturday October 16 th I went to the emergency room thinking of having acid reflux for the past 2 weeks. After going to an emergency room in Staten Island last week little did I know it was my heart. For the past week I had multiple tests done and everything was showing negative results. After sleepless nights and so much pain I said enough. I went to trauma 1 emergency room at Lutheran center. I am sorry I Cant remember everyone name .Starting with my nurse Melissa and continuing with Dr Whitman and his PA assistant. They were quick and fast to notice my increasing pain which lead me to a heart attack. Quickly more nurses and Doctors rushed to my side and quickly determined that I Was having a heart attack..I was sent quickly to the intensive side of the er and was brought immediately to a cardiovascular team awaiting for me. With the quick decision of Dr Atul Sharma and his glorious team the made a decision that lead me to putting a stent. Words can not describe how blessed and thankful I am to have met such a kind, smart, professional Doctor I ever met. All the nurses and Doctors that participated played a role in healing me. I will never forget what you all have done for me. I am so honored and grateful to also meet such an amazing cardiologist Dr. Sharma and will continue this relationship with him being he made me feel completely safe in his hands. Thank you so much to all of the employees and staff at Lutheran medical center. You all deserve all the rewards possibly that there is……

One star only because the nursing staff was kind and gentle. My brother passed away in ICU. He was a large man 50 years old. 30 year diabetic with ZERO complications. After covid he had breathing issues for little over a year. Finally on August 4th he wanted to go to the hospital to deal with this. He was having lots of trouble breathing. Turns out he contracted a rare bacteria called klebsiella. This bacteria is very uncommon. And mostly found in patients that have stayed in a medical facility long term. My brother has never been hospitalized. After 5 days of icu and interbated hospital icu doctor said my brother s kidney function was declining suddenly and that they will monitor him and revisit tomorrow. I feel they never bothered to test him for sudden Onset of sepsis and he passed away on Wednesday night August 9th at 930pm. My brother never had any history of kidney disease or failure EVER. ONLY SEPSIS CAUSES KIDNEY FAILURE AND DEATH IN 12 HOURS OR LESS. Had they took drastic measures immediately my brother would not have passed away. I feel the doctors see overweight men 50 and older not worth the best care because of their current existing health issues will ultimately kill them shortly after. Terrible hospital.

I’m amazed at the service and handling of my monthly packages. Your outstanding system of delivery services should be an example to other couriers! Keep up your great work!!

This place is ridiculous. Kicked all visitors out of ER even though their visitor policy clearly says one visitor is allowed. Only a few people listened and everyone else stayed and weren’t kicked out.

While I was in there, I heard some old man screaming racial slurs about african americans, and some of the nurses saying “Now now, Mr. Cumia, settle on down.” They too, were african americans, and seemed not to be bothered by this old man’s horrible racism.
