Kamala Kitchen gets 5 stars for being a passionate, hard working, food enthusiast mom & pop upcoming take-away outlet. The owners - Anup and Debjani - came up with the idea of starting a business in the area off Bengali homely food take-away post Covid times. Their weekly menu changes every week and has a decent selection. I particularly love dhokar dalna, shukto, and their shorshe / posto dishes. For dessert - the narkel nadu and the malpoa are crave material. I wish them all the best in their new adventures and hope they stay just as passionate as they scale up.

Great experience. The owner was very kind and helpful. The food was fantastic. It's obvious there is so much care in the making of the food. The spice was excellent, everything was delicious! The goat curry and potatoes was the best I ever had! The interior is very cozy and plenty of room for big gatherings! Prestigious and yet relaxing. I highly recommend this restaurant. They are doing the family friendly delicious cuisine the way it was meant to be done!

Very authentic west Bengal food cooked with care and original recipes. There was a gap in the area for this food. The owners are very nice and can help guide you on what to order.

This place offers the most exquisite and genuine Kolkata Bengali cuisine I've ever tasted in the USA. It all began with the delightful vegetable chop, followed by the mouthwatering kochuri-aloodum combo. Moving on to the main course, the jinghey posto, dhoka dalna, and sorshey illish were a perfect blend of flavors. And to conclude this culinary journey, the mishti doi was a heavenly treat. The experience was so delightful that I wish I had booked a nearby hotel to take a leisurely afternoon nap before returning in the evening for their tempting phul kopir samosa and chai. The variety and quality of dishes at this place are truly impressive, and the prices are very reasonable for the exceptional dining experience offered here. Highly recommended!

Very warm and welcoming people. Very surprised to finally come across a place that serves kolkata bangali cuisine. Would recommend the fish fry and fulkopir singara. Love that the fishy fry came with kasundi! Can’t wait to go back to try the rest of their menu.

It’s very hard to find authentic Kolkata Bengali Cuisine & foods from this place are very close to that. Kolkata Style Egg Chicken Roll was super delicious, crispy ness on the outside roti is very similar to Kolkata Street Style food. Inside filling was packed with flavor, tasty & very filling. The portion size was good too. Went again & tried Kochuri & Aloor Dam, Fish Fry & Fish Chop. Inside Kochuri there was daal filling which is very much Authentic Kolkata style, Aloor Dam was tasty too. Fish Fry & Fish Chop were very delicious, coating was very crispy & inside filling was very flavorful. Kasundi & onions come as side which very much Kolkata style touch. Reminds me of Authentic Kolkata Street Style Foods. Owner is very friendly & super nice. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Kolkata Style Bengali Cuisine. Their Chicken Chap is very very close to Kolkata Style & it’s delicious. PS: Edited Because of second visit

Fantastic food from the city of joy! Found on a rainy night, and was so happy for that. Am American but my husband is from Calcutta. Truly authentic, tasty well made food with quality ingredients. A must try for everyone in Bellerose and beyond. I know we will be regulars!

Finally a restaurant dishing out yummy ‘Kolkata’-Bengali food. It was our first time at this place and we tried to taste as many food items as we could. The owners are very friendly and following their suggestion, we started with Kochuri, chholar dal and Alur dom. Loved the trio. Next we tried some amazing fish fries with ‘kasundi’. Finally we moved on to the meal items namely ‘machh er muro die dal’ (fish head cooked with lentils), some alu jhhinge posto, shukto and dhokar dalna (all these veg), rui machher jhhol (fish) and Chilli chicken, with some steaming hot rice. The owners also treated us with some patishapta (rice crepes filled with sweet and grated coconut). The ambience and the food is quite homely, no excessive oil or spice, food that is both good for your stomach and your soul. Will definitely try some more items from this place and overall a worthy visit.

My friend took me to this place yesterday and swears it’s the best Bengali food that reminds her of her home in India! I tasted so many dishes and sure enough the food was perfect! So fresh, so home made and just the right amount of spices! The host and hostess were very welcoming and friendly and made the whole experience just the greatest! I will surely come back and sample more of their delicious foods and sweets! So worth the trip!

A rainy day, an uncalled pause! We found this restaurant, but closed. The word “Kolkata” was enough to give a second thought. Had to ring the restaurant, and a known tone left years back in the city of joy! “Pach minute din, ami aschi” - give me 5 minutes will be there! The kochuri, alur dom and cholar dal, mouth watering and delicious! A throwback to those days, and a sweet remembrance! The quality and the customer service was just outstanding! Until next time! A must visit!

We loved the food at Kamala Kitchen. The taste and quality of the dishes were amazing. It was pure nostalgia for me to be able to experience authentic Kolkata-style Bengali food in NY. Along with the food, the hosts went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. Overall, the ambiance was warm and casual with awesome food. If you are in NY and love Bengali cuisine, this place is a must-visit.
