Salon West is easily the best salon I’ve been to. Every time I go, I leave feeling so much better about my hair. I’ve never gotten highlights before, but the stylists were so helpful and answered all my questions about the process, upkeep and everything to calm my nerves. They made the perfect shade to complement my hair and it looks so natural! All the stylists are so friendly and efficient. They use products for your specific hair type and do a great job explaining how to maintain beautiful hair even after leaving. They’ve definitely made me enjoy getting my hair done again!

I just had the most fabulous experience at Salon West! These are the kind of people who will give you an umbrella when it is raining outside. The staff here is so accommodating, professional, sweet and attentive. They are also incredibly efficient, I had so much done to my hair and have emerged a new person and it only took 2 hours! I was in serious need of a haircut and decided to check out this salon and Lord, I'm so happy I did. Everyone was so attentive and helpful. Jennifer knew exactly what I needed and gave great recommendations for the appointment. Munni did an amazing job with the cut, color and style! She was patient, kind and took great care of my hair. Long overdue review! I love salon West and hands down I will recommend anyone I know to come here. I have so much hesitation when it comes to my hair to the point that I only get my haircut done once or twice a month, even when I invest in my haircut I always have a bad experience but Salon West is hands down the first place that cut my hair PERFECTLY. The attention to detail and care is literally unmatched, also the people that work there Omg don’t get me started! Everyone is so kind and sweet, they also give you great tips on how to maintain your hair to keep it looking vibrant for as long as possible. Mira at Salon West 2 is the best!! Not only did she completely brighten and refresh my dull blonde, she has a heart of gold and genuinely cares about her clients. Curly-hair folks listen up: let Ava cut and color your hair. My previous color had a yellow tone and a hard grow out line. Ava took me in, lightened it to ashy blonde, pulled the color up to my roots, and blended it seamlessly to remove the growth line. Added bonus: the thorough wash and quick blowout. Ava is efficient, professional, and great company. Highly recommend!

I really want to like this salon. The salon is bright, busy, and it had some good reviews on Yelp. I booked a single process with Jennifer, and she (rightly) suggested that I get some highlights. As it was my first time, I tried to be flexible with the fact that Jennifer started my color, and another woman finished it. It turned out beautifully, but it took almost two hours. I chalked it up to a busy morning, and booked a single process for six weeks later. For my second appointment, I noticed that the staff was different, save for a few stylists. Again, Jennifer started my hair, and it was finished by someone else. It seemed to take a very long time again, and I waited for over the 35 minute timer to get the foils removed. But the color was really beautiful, and I tried to be patient. However, my last appointment was very frustrating. I booked on a late afternoon and it was just really busy and chaotic. Jennifer started my color again, but another stylist finished it. Jennifer, who had always talked somewhat negatively about some her staff, did so again, which made me uncomfortable. This time, I waited with foils for about 45 minutes. I don't know what that does to my color, but it seems extreme. I had to wait to get my hair shampooed and gloss, and I didn't dry my hair too long because I just wanted to go home. It was just over two hours, and I felt like it was too long. Overall, the salon seems badly managed. I wish that Jennifer would let her stylists work on one person at a time. If she wants to oversee, she can do that when she doesn't have a client. When she's with a client, she should stay with that client. Shampooers should just shampoo and gloss. And someone else could do all of the drying, too. Like stations; instead of five people doing five different jobs or whatever. The color at the end is amazing, but I am going to look for another salon. The stress, chaos, and bad management is not worth my time. There are plenty of other salons in the neighborhood who can better manage their time, staff, and work -and still produce beautiful color. Jennifer, please make the changes that these reviewers are suggesting. Please don't talk badly about your staff, please stick with your clients, please better manage your client's time and your own time, and please remember that people have other places to go for color. Your salon could be super fantastic if you make the changes that are suggested by many of your clients.

I booked my appointment with Sonada to touch up my roots and refresh my color. She absolutely nailed it and my hair not only looks amazing but it feels amazing. It is vibrant and exactly what I envisioned. If you are looking for somebody to book for color definitely book with her!!

If you ever want a good haircut or a good styling PLEASE SEE AVA!! When I moved to nyc I was struggling to find a good stylist. Since I found Ava my hair has never been better . Her cuts are phenomenal, and even more so the way she styles my hair after is perfect! I now go in almost weekly just to have her put waves in my hair. I wish I could give her and Salon West 100 stars! Get in there ASAP!!!

I went to this salon twice for a bang trim, both times I booked an appointment with Jennifer but got my hair cut by a different stylist. First time it was the male stylist they have and I wasn’t happy with the result at all. It wasn’t what I wanted and didn’t work with hair texture, even though I have straight fine hair that’s very easy to cut regular bangs for. Jennifer ended up fixing them and I was happy with the result so I decided to come back for her, but again I got a different stylist. I thought no way the same thing is going to happen this time, plus I just needed to slightly trim my bangs that I already had from last time a month before, so nothing difficult. Nope, my hair was ruined again and the stylist tried to convince me it was what I wanted. Jennifer tried to fix it again but I’m not sure I’m happy with it this time. Not a pleasant experience at all. I like Jennifer’s work but the other two stylists (don’t remember their names) ruined my bangs. I don’t like booking an appointment with a specific stylist and getting set up with someone different, what was the point of booking then? Not coming back

Genuinely the only place I will ever go to get my hair done ever again. I’ve been seeing Ava for about a year and I’ve never had a stylist I trust more. She does amazing extensions and my hair has grown so much during this process (which, if you know anything about extensions, is crazy — a lot of the time they can damage your hair). I always feel so so amazing after I see her, plus she’s funny and totally gets my vision. All the other stylists are also cheerful and warm! Can’t recommend enough. She has quite literally changed my life.

I had an amazing experience! Angela was sweet and knew exactly what I needed. She has been doing hair her whole life and that was very clear. My hair was in need of some major TLC (I haven't gotten a cut or color in two years). I will definitely be going back and recommending them to my friends.

I’ve been seeing Ava for the past year now. I have naturally curly hair (probably about type 3A-3B). I had a bad haircut before I met Ava and she fixed it right up. As a curly girl it is very hard to trust someone with my hair, but from the minute I met Ava I felt a sense of relief. Her also having curly hair helped because she could relate to a lot of my struggles of finding someone who knows how to actually do my hair. I am not even from nyc but I travel to Ava to cut/color my hair because I won’t put my hair in anyone else’s hands. Since seeing her my hair grows out to be so healthy and long. I also never trusted anyone to put color in my hair in fear of my curl pattern being ruined, but after meeting Ava I knew that it takes the right stylist to do it right without messing up your hair no matter what type of hair you have. I highly recommend Ava no matter what kind of hair you have. She’s a funny, kind, and talented person. You won’t be disappointed!

Strongly recommend! This is my third time visiting, and there’s no one I trust more than Angela Liao at Salon West to be my stylist. She handles perms and cuts really well and is very knowledgeable about trends on Xiao Hong Shu for asian girlies like myself. Will definitely come back in the future.

I definitely recommend Fabiana, she saved my hair, first she fixed my hair extensions after a really bad experience at another salon, then she told me how I could blend my hair color with my extensions, so we decided to do some highlights. I’m just in love with my hair, I feel like a new person, a better version of myself, so much more confident. I can’t recommend enough.

This is an update from my previous review . I wasn't being totally honest. My stylist Queen did NOT deliver what was promised. I wanted DIMENSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS, meaning a noticeable contrast , TWO tones. Instead I received OVERALL LIGHTENING which I didnt want. I stressed repeatedly what I desired, for highlights to stand out in contrast to base color. I HAD to post a review to get complimentary services which should've been free anyway , as stated on Salon Apprentice site. But I needed to be clear and explain my disappointment in someone who claims to "understand" what you want and yet give you something totally different. If I wanted SO many highlights instead of strategically placed as I wanted (bold streak in front) then I would've told her to make me "all over lighter". And the cut wasn't anything special either. I won't be returning , just thought I'd share.

I strongly recommend Queen to everyone. She’s is an expert in hairdressing and knows how to maintain my hairs health and the latest trends in the industry. I have been visiting her for years and there is always consistency in her work.
