šŸ˜  Parker Towers is terrible. In efforts to address my concerns about how our home became a construction site, management invited me to set a meeting at a said day and they never even followed through! I followed up several times to confirm we were set for a time and I never heard back. Attention moms,... People often mention building, construction, Parker, Towers, apartment, home, noise, living, great, years,

Parker Towers is terrible. In efforts to address my concerns about how our home became a construction site, management invited me to set a meeting at a said day and they never even followed through! I followed up several times to confirm we were set for a time and I never heard back. Attention moms, dad's, caregivers, parents to be, young families, older folks, anyone working from home, and anyone looking for a good quality of life residential experience: Parker towers IS NOT the place you want to live in. I say this with such great disappointment because when I moved here about 7 years ago with my partner, we were drawn in by the great amenities in place and the potential for family life. However, I have seen a steep decline in my quality of living here due to the incessant projects, construction, drilling, and noise pollution that goes on everyday, with no one who really cares about tenant experience. Sadly, this is not temporary. This is the parker tower residential life, indefinitely. I have tons of emails with the "project list lineup" and there's something every week, requiring mutliple phases. With an infant at home, it is rare he is able to get a day of peace, let alone let my husband work from home in peace. We are now forced to not leave our home to avoid the unsafe scaffolding pathway that has replaced the cement floor breezeway. The measured decibels recorded of the drilling volume reaches over 86!! Anything over 80 is potentially dangerous to infants! " This has gone on for years, not to mention the water and piping issues they impose on us leaving us with water shutdowns and no drinkable water because its cloudy or muddy or has a weird taste even after using a filter. I have lived in less "luxuriously self acclaimed" apartment buildings and I've NEVER felt this compelled to expose such awful living conditions. PT response claiming it's all to make this a "better, more comfortable, beautiful living community" is a goal that will never be fulfilled because they are in constant pursuit of a future resident.

Initial review (3/2023) Yes, I've truly LOVED waking up to this intense construction for years now. How is this building literally always under construction??? The building management has also ignored my emails regarding pet-friendly quiet spaces. When I called the office, whoever picked up suggested to me that I could always do my work in the dog run.... ------------------------- Update to my initial review (7/31/2023): the decibels reading in my apartment continue to meet and even exceed 80 decibels, which is dangerous especially for prolonged times. Additionally, we are unable to use our own kitchen, which directly faces the breezeway, due to the constant dangerously high noise levels and vibrations. Taking a sick day at home is basically out of the question since there's no way to rest up in such a stressful environment. Which goes to say that working from home in this building is also impossible, since you cannot conduct a single work meeting without construction noises blaring in the background. Despite this, the building management continues to respond with, in my opinion, empty statements of them caring about community here. But in my opinion, community care is about caring about residents, especially when they raise health concerns due to dangerous noise levels. For any prospective tenant: I do NOT recommend Parker Towers. Management will, in my opinion, not be transparent when it comes to construction levels, remedies, and slated completion dates. It is also my opinion that the recent 5 star reviews here are not entirely trustworthy, due to several interactions I've had involving maintenance staff and them asking tenants to post a five star review specifically about *their* work on the Parker Towers review pages, not a separate review page for them. Take from that what you will.

We chose to live at Parker towers because we loved the newly renovated apartment we saw and the surrounding area was great. They did mention that there was construction ongoing to entrance of the building but that this would be complete within the first 3 months of us living there. This construction took almost a year to complete from the time we moved in and in the meantime, a new construction project was started on the other side our building which we were not notified about. It is impossible to work from home as the noise is too loud. It often feels like the drilling is being done inside the apartment. They also started two new projects recently. One in particular has caused what looks like a dirt moat surrounding the building. The amount of scaffolding/fencing that's been put up as a result makes the buildings look awful. Because our apartment is in a certain part of the building, we actually have to walk across wooden planks to get to our apartment. In addition, the elevators are always monopolized by the construction crews. It honestly feels like they are more prioritized than the tenants. We complained about the noise/construction twice to the management office and were met with blank stares and the usual "there's nothing we can do about it". Highly do not recommend living here. Forest Hills is a beautiful area with other apartment buildings that are more affordable and likely more pleasant. I also wrote a review on Yelp and they asked me to call them to work toward a resolution. I did this and they basically offered me nothing as they said they could not offer any type of credit on rent and did not offer any additional resolution options so it was no different than the first time we told them about our concerns.

If you love waking up to and dealing with constant cigarette smoke from the next-door neighbor whoā€™s in the building on a section 8 housing voucher, then Parker Towers is the place for you! The complex has become hell since it was bought up by Beam Living, the quality of the new tenants moving in has made it so that the building is dirty, a 24-hour ā€œsecurityā€ company needs to constantly patrol the complex and the buildingā€™s service entrance now closes at 10PM daily due to safety concerns. No smoking riders on every lease are completely ignored and smokers have found a paradise at Parker Towers. Management does nothing to correct this, their advice (when someone actually replies to you after 5-6 emails and you mention reaching out to an attorney) are ā€œweā€™re sorry for this and are working to address thisā€ - 7.5 months and theyā€™re still ā€œworking on thisā€. The buildingā€™s general manager actually informed me that Beamā€™s legal team would move forward with correcting this if we can establish that the smoking is damaging my health, so Iā€™d need to be physically harmed in order for them to enforce their no smoking policy, at that point, I promise Iā€™ll own the complex. Workers for the building note that many apartments have a cigarette stench so bad, it gets through their masks. Add this to the non ending construction accurately mentioned in so many other reviews (for which schedules are often misrepresented), and Parker Towers is truly luxury living!

I recently moved out after years of being here and the grass was truly greener for me. The buildings are under what feels like perpetual construction and the noise levels are INSANE. For years I raised concerns about brown water in my shower and kitchen sink and I was always told that they were ā€œcleaning the water tankā€ I guess they did that daily? Itā€™s aggressively overpriced for what you get. I will say the doormen and the handymen are phenomenal. All so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I canā€™t say the same for the office staff. Anytime I had a concern or a question I had to follow up multiple times with them before I got an answer. Thereā€™s definitely better living choices.

Addendum: The management team has been very responsive for service repairs. They also reimbursed me money to purchase supplies to help mitigate the noise pollution (a white noise machine, wall panels, ear plugs etc). All new residents should be aware there is an ongoing construction project for the next year that can be quite loud during the day. Pros: Apartment itself is nice, gym facility is great, staff are friendly and professional. Parker pantry is convenient. Austin street (with great restaurants, bars, shops) is close by. Cons: 1) Nearby noise pollution from constant construction, local trains, and Queens Blvd. 2) Parking can be challenging. I paid the extra $300/month for parking garage access, but a spot is not guaranteed. However, there is also valet parking available. 3) The building itself is also quite old, some of the hallways and carpeting are old & not well maintained

Sami from the leasing office was just great! Very detail oriented and professional. I had to move within weeks notice and he was prompt and thorough in assisting me for a smooth transition. Incredibly helpful with this process. Highly rec. I am excited to make Parker Towers my home! It is close to an active area with a lot to do, security is very nice. The buildings are also very clean.

Iā€™ve been living at Parker Towers / Beam Living for 12 years now and couldnā€™t be happier. Rooms are huge, service is the best. Joe the super is there for anything you need. Always with a smile. Alex the handyman is amazing, professional and kind, polite.. been here forever. Pleasure having him in this building!! Never waited for any service. The building is clean and always improving. Doormen, each one with their own character, welcoming and kind. highly recommended

Recently had an apartment tour with Sami and he was wonderful. Because he lives in one of the units he was able to speak about how his apartment was set up as possible inspiration for decoration ideas. He was kind and knowledgeable and continues to be very responsive to my inquiries about other available units.

Sami from the leasing office, the building rep who helped us, provided a very helpful tour of Park Towers where me and my partner visited. Overall, he was knowledgeable, accommodating, and never made me feel like I had too many questions. Truly appreciated his help!

Working with Sami has been a blessing! He is a very helpful hard working young man who helped me and my wife rent an excellent apartment! I will always recommend any of my friends who are interested in renting from Parker Towers to reach out to Sami!
