Came in on a whim, was in the mood for desserts. My friend and I were able to walk in and get a table with no reservation. Restaurant has a cozy vibe, intimate ambience. We started off with a Gewurztraminer, ended up swapping it out for a Riesling instead. Matched the flavor we were going for. Ordered the manchego (bread was amazinggg) as we waited for our desserts to come out. The crème brulee had so much potential, the custard had curds in it, which ruined the texture. But I’m not going to give up on it. However, the apple tartin was DELICIOUS. 10/10, would recommend.

An absolute delight. Loved the wine selection, which one can tell is hand picked. Delicious food, even with my dairy allergy! They were understanding. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mussels and fries were amazing! They have heated seating, which is cozily distributed. Attentive kind service. Will be back.

Real cute French Bistro. Food was excellent, with several unique options. I started with the Crispy Artichoke. Very tasty with a subtle olive puree and a hint of mint. The Hangar Steak for my main course was more flavorful than expected. The sides of arugula and french fries were were also good. We ended the meal with a Chocolate Mousse which was smooth, creamy and delicious. Service was very friendly and efficient. Overall a pleasant dining experience.

All the waiters are not wearing a mask, which is worrying. Great steak, but the fish of the day is only fine.

Came here for brunch and ordered the Amelie Burger. The burger was flavorful, but dry and the fries were cold. I was sitting in the outdoor area right at the doorstep of the restaurant and kept feeling sprinkles of water from the A/C unit. That is gross. I had to change seats multiple times.

One of my favorite Bistrot located in the Upper West side offers outstanding French specialties like Onion Soup, Escargots, Pepper Steak and Magret de Canard. Traditional deserts like Apple Tarte Tatin, and a wonderful Chocolate Mousse are not to be missed. Service is very dedicated to make your experience special and the environment is casual yet cosy. Highly recommended!

My husband and I have decided this is our favorite dinner spot in NYC due to the exceptional and kind service, the expertise of the staff, the vibe and atmosphere of the place, and most of all, the truly delicious food. Olivier has been an amazing source of wine knowledge for us and his recommendations are *always* on point. The glassware for the wine, too, complements the variety of wine offerings they have. My current favorite wine there is the cab franc in the middle-grade offerings of wine. The Mouvoudre is also fantastic. My favorite thing to order here is always whatever soup du jour they have. There’s nothing better than a good restaurant that knows its soup. I’ve had chilled pea, tomato basil, and more recently the watermelon gazpacho and then honeydew gazpacho. To date, the honeydew gazpacho has been my favorite. If you like duck, you must get the seared duck breast. It is divine. I love the mini raviole dish they have. But my favorite is always whatever special they’re offering that suits my taste. Most recently I had an heirloom/goat cheese/melon/corn/basil salad that I loved as well as a seared cod/fennel/ratatouille dish that knocked it out of the park. The mussels are also good! I highly recommend this spot for date night, for a great sexy vibe, for any celebration, and especially if you’re looking for good wine. Trés Magnifique.

A nice French bistro with a cool vibe. The outdoor seating in the parklet was noisy and some other diners complained about it being stuffy. Service was somewhat random: the waitress took down our order wrong, adding an item we didn’t order. Then the server brought us multiple items that we didn’t order, multiple times. The food we got was good, some items were very good. Favorites included the octopus and the lamb burger. The mussels were ok, not the freshest but also none that were bad.

We had an excellent dinner here. Steak Frites were terrific, especially the Frites. Service was good, quick and attentive. Prices are reasonable. Dessert was good too. The only drawback was eating in the outside covered, heated shed ..not much atmosphere or comfort. Highly recommend.

Another amazing night out at Amelie. A quick, easy impromptu Happy Hour with my daughter. Had an incredible time as always. Great food, delicious wine and an ever accommodating staff. Love Amelie for so many reasons!

We take onion soup and camamber cheese. It was really delicious! Recommend for all take and try, amazing experience! Compliment of chef was an apple ice cream, I haven't words to write how it was sweet and fresh. It finished our taste journey in a great world Amelie UWS.

I'd recommend Amelie for a solid, unpretentious meal. I often order their fish dishes because they have always been cooked perfectly. They also have one of the better burgers in the area.

Quaint French bistro in the upper west side. Clearly a local gem putting out deliciously simple dishes and wine at a reasonable price point. Staff are very friendly, as are the people you meet in the bar. Happy hour food and drink 4-6pm.

Really fun lunch for 4 on Saturday! Delicious food: classic Coq au Vin (amazing!), Croque Monsieur, Sanwiche Poulet, Tuna Tartare, plus Chicken Liver Mousse, Campagne Pate with lovely accoutrements such as nuts, figs, honey, endive and super fresh baguette. Desserts of Banana Creme Brulee were amazing. Stephan was a host superbe - professional, yet very fun and funny, charmant. Best service, best quality and selection of food. Really hopping and popular even on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

We ate here twice on our trip and both times were exceptional. I highly recommend making a reservation to ensure a table. And if you like oysters this is where you want to go!

Amelie truly is a neighborhood gem. This small but charming place advertises itself as a wine bar, but the food is always tasty, fresh, and nicely served. The staff are friendly and helpful, and your water glass is NEVER empty! Good Happy Hour bargains and lovely bistro food--small plates and main courses. Treat yourself to a little bit of France on the UWS.

Absolutely amazing Brunch:) Really attentive friendly service with Meurette eggs for me with the most lovely red wine sauce and delicious bread to dip. My teen daughter was loving her Brioche French toast; one piece is more than a meal! My only wish is they brought back bowls of hot chocolate now that it’s chilly again:)

Traveling on a budget, this was our best dining experience in NYC. Outstanding food at honest prices. As light drinkers, we appreciated the excellent wine-by-the-glass offerings. We heartily recommend it.

Cute small French bistro with a very aesthetic setting! Evidently not the best French cuisine out there but definitely worth a visit!

HORRIBLE!!! Ate there Monday. Moules. Disgusting. Their ‘famous’ burger. Asked for Medium. Served nearly raw. Fix? No. Worst was , we made reservation early to accommodate six of us. They shoved us in back—lighting so dim we barely saw the food and noisy kitchen was intolerable. They refused to move us. THERE ARE PLENTY OF WONDERFUL FRENCH RESTAURANTS ON UPPER WEST. DON’T GO HERE!!!!!!

Great food, maybe the best Coq Au Vin I have ever tasted. Nice wine list. But the service is not great. There is one waiter who is very attentive. But the others are inconsistent at best.

Amelie used to be our second house since the opening. The food, the atmosphere, the way you were welcomed, it was an amazing gem in the neighborhood. Apparently one of the owners has left and it's no longer the same restaurant at all. The food is still very good but there is no longer that little extra that made our evening extraordinary. Now you are greeted by a hostess who just makes you want to leave and then you are served by an arrogant tattooed waiter who looks down on you from the start and who clearly prefers to go drinking at the bar than to pay attention to his customers. We definitely won"t come back anymore

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Amelie Bistro and wine Bar, and I cannot praise the hospitality enough. From the moment I walked in, the staff's attentiveness was exceptional. Not only did they provide excellent service, but there were also thoughtful gestures that made the experience truly special. The warm and welcoming atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. Whether it was remembering our preferences or going the extra mile to ensure our comfort, the staff exceeded expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who values not only delicious food but also an outstanding level of hospitality. It's a gem that deserves to be shared.

I usually never think about French food, I like spices, until I found Amelie. I have been wanting to go back since visiting a week ago. The escargot and the goat cheese appetizers were great. Burger was actually cooked to medium like we ordered, and the coq au vin was delicious. The restaurant is small and intimate. Staff was very friendly and service never missed a beat. Will probably visit again this weekend.
