Love this place and all the bartenders but the long haired owner is something else. His bartender gets cut behind the bar from broken glass and not only does he ignore her open wound, but when I proceeded to help the bartender, owner told me to sit down and it “wasn’t a good look” and then proceeded to keep ignoring her injury. Not sure what was up with him but management truly needs to get their act together otherwise they will lose all their amazing staff.

This place is a nice Irish pub! 🇮🇪 The Long Hall Pub in Murray Hill 🗽 is a wonderful spot to grab beer 🍺, watch 📺 a game 🏀, and socialize! 🥳 They have a large selection of beers 🍻 and lots of indoor seating.🪑 I wish I knew about this place sooner!

Nice a spacious with good selection of crisps from across the pond. The Guinness was poured just right and service was prompt. Can’t comment on manager mentioned in other reviews as don’t think present.

Went here for trivia but also enjoyed a burger too. What was weird is this place apparently takes reservations for trivia?! I walked in there and basically every table had a "reserved' sign on it. I had to wait and then luckily they said someone called to cancel their reservation so I got their table. But had that not happened, I don't think I would have been able to participate. What kind of a bar takes reservations?! This place isn't fancy or anything… just your average bar that also has trivia once a week. I mean I liked it here but I wouldn't go out of my way to make a RESERVATION for this place… I mean it isn't THAT good. It's a lot easier to just go to literally every other bar in the city without a reservation and do trivia there. But if you do want to go here, call ahead… otherwise you'll be without a place to sit. The burger and fries were fine. Nothing special though.

The bartender is amazing, I will say that, but the manager is horrible. They claimed they lost my signed receipt, which was sitting at the table in the folder they give, then proceeded to add a $6 tip to my receipt which I didn’t authorize. Luckily I was just around the corner when the transaction reached my account. I went back there to ask what happened, only to get questioned by the rude manager who badgered me about why I didn’t leave a tip on over priced shots. 4 shots of Hennessy for $64?? Outrageous! He then goes the say “if you don’t like the service here, then it’s best you don’t drink here” I usually go there with my classmates every week but I definitely won’t be back there.

So glad I tried this place! Bartenders were awesome and the food was incredible! Got the bangers and mash and will definitely get it again! The Beer was great and the atmosphere was amazing! Felt like I was in a family owned Irish pub that had been in business for 50+ years.

Went there because I heard they served great pint of Guinness. I was disappointed because my pint was flat and it tasted like the bottom of the tap.

The food has been getting better recently! (Sept 2018) More items and variety which is good! Gets pretty loud and crowded Thursday and Friday nights especially. Not a good place to have a quiet conversation after 8pm those nights. Trivia contest on Tuesday nights at 8pm which can be fun.

The loveliest bangers and mash since I left the UK. If you want a real experience from a true Irish pub, this is it. My cook, bartender, and the lovely owner, all Irish. I’ll be back soon.

Great pub altogether ! We loved it and it played the GAA games whilst we were over in new york. They serve excellent authentic guinness ! All the lads got it and love it here so we went back again & again. The northern irish bartender was hilarious with excellent dry humour. Great bar would highly recommend

Super authentic and welcoming pub in midtown east. Great price points and choices. Lots of authentic snacks and dishes. Bathrooms are tiny and not handicap accessible. Fun for drinks with friends.

Had an Irish breakfast! All good except it was missing tomato!!! The Guinness was perfectly poured! There was a .96 cent charge of something that made no since.. but I didn’t care about it (it adds up anyway).

The service here is excellent - the staff are friendly and efficient. Beer choice is decent, and it’s not crazy priced either. The quiz on a Tuesday is really quite good and well run. Free to join, just a 1 drink minimum so very reasonable. Food is…. Quite beige and fried… but as long as you’re aware you’ll have a fab time

The perfect pub. Stopped for a Guinness, it was excellent - alongside with bar munchies which went along very well. Our server was very friendly, had great recommendations and didn’t let us wait for a minute.

It was shockingly not good. I'd previously heard decent things about the pub. Boy, was I in for a surprise. Originally, I was ordering fish and chips. Unfortunately, they were randomly out of it (on a week day, too) Let's start from the beginning. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was that there was no accessibility button, nor anyone to open the door. (Huge red flag) There were about 15- 30 tables total (it's semi split into "2 rooms") , but there were only about 6 tables of people (including my brother and I). I would say, maybe 12 people total. I thought that was going to be a great thing...it wasn't. There was only 1 table with a booth... the rest were high-top bar chairs. Again, where is the accessibility?! There was supposed to be live music (per their advertising outside and inside), but there wasn't. I'd asked if they could put on France's match, but the staffer (not sure what their role was) that I asked seemed quite confused, then disappeared after we asked for beers. Another person (waitress) came a good while later and asked about our bevs. We assumed the keg might've been tapped or something because it was taking quite a while. We never received water. We ended up ordering the shepherds pie and a medium burger and fries. The burger was so over cooked, I swear the cow was back for revenge. The shepherds pie was very tasteless, which is tragic for such a simple and well-known dish. But the fries....it was like Jesus himself planted, cut and cooked them 🤣. I know that seems obscene, but they really were perfect. The noise level wasn't bad... but then again, was only like 6 tables in the whole place. I can't get over the extreme lack of accessibility. And that the only booth is right in front of the restroom. Unfortunately, it was being held for a small group (semi understandably as they were there first ) While sitting and trying to eat, a guy walked up and started grabbing things. Not clearing the table ( after all, we were actively eating), but just grabbing. He'd had parts of my utensils and my napkin in his hands before I could say, "No ,thank you. We're still eating. " I now needed new utensils as his hands were all over my fork. I could have dealt with it, had it not been the whole mouth of the fork. The guy seemed very stressed, so I just didn't worry about it. Besides, we'd had enough. We couldn't finish our meal and had been waiting almost 45 mins before anyone else returned so we could ask for the check (which took another 24 mins). We assumed the computer must've been broken, but when I leaned to signal one of the waitresses, they were just standing there chatting. Again, I assumed "there must be something happening." Fed up and seeing the sheer pain I was in from the chairs, my brother asked again for the check; this time a bit firmly, which earned us the evil looks as we left. We paid for our meals and headed out of the door. While thinking to myself, "Well, it could have been worse. At least we know now. Maybe they're having an off day. We will have to try again another time when they're better organized, and their accessibility meets the bare minimum. "....the waitress chased after us yelling,"Guys!". She'd asked if there was something wrong with the food because of the tip. Seeing the shocked look on my brother's face and hearing the stern tone in his voice when he responded, "yea, the service. We should have been out of here an hour ago, "I intervened and listed a few of the issues we'd experienced. There wasn't an explanation or apology. She simply scoffed and walked back inside. Unfortunately, her audacity to chase after a customer 😒 after such mediocre service was the final nail in the casket. The tasteless and dry food (except for the fries), The lack of accessibility and The lack of professionalism of the staff is all the reasons why this pub is on my "not worth it"

As a parent of 2 toddlers, and as a lover of great food and beer. This place is 10 out of 10. We were welcomed through the door with smiles and it honestly felt like we were being greeted as family. Our server, and I can't remember his name, treated our kids like real people. As a father that is huge to me. He happily interacted with them and I can't thank him enough. All I know is he is from northern Ireland, was around my age and my wife's and has made my weekend. If I ever swing by again I owe him a pint or two.

I'm a sucker for a good Irish boozer and Long Hall does not disappoint. Perfect pints, great atmosphere and service...and the fries were just thick enough and just cooked enough and just perfect enough. It's in the rotation.

We celebrated our friends birthday at RR a few weeks ago. The food was good. We weren't quite sure how they calculated the bottomless mimosas and we are still curious because although there were 5 of us, only 3 were drinking The mimosas were ok. Monte Cristo was excellent and 2 had salads,1 had eggs benedict. I don't think we will return, it was not as memorable as we would have liked. You never know, we might give it one more go.

Good pub, but around 8PM music went so bad (only techno) that we left. That kind of music doesn't fit here, it's for night clubs. Song or two is okay but nothing else...

Most authentic Irish Pub in NYC I have found. Owner on site, great bartenders who make a fantastic hot tottie and poor the best Guinness pint!

  • 1/5 Afia H. 1 year ago on Google
Hire Americans and stop overcharging. $11 for no name whisky. Greed. Hope you go out of business. Nice bartenders but shame they take so much from New Yorkers but won’t employ them.

Very cool, very Irish bar that is authentic, comfortable, and offers great food and service. You can get authentic Irish snacks and food here, and many Irish residents spread the word to tourists that this place pulls the best Guinness in NYC. It's a great environment and really nice place for an afternoon or evening drink.

As genuine of an Irish Pub as you can find. When Smithwick's also has their own tap (Guinness is a given), you know you're with friends. Open as early as 10am and til 4am for wacky futbol match hours.

I stopped in for a pint of Guinness. The bartender is either Irish, or fakes an accent VERY well. He was friendly and they have customer use only toilets that are clean and private.

Such friendly and accommodating staff. When bringing our laptops to plan a trip over coffee, my friend and I were seriously annoyed at how the coffee spots nearby made it so difficult to simply use an outlet or public Wi-Fi. Popped in here and they were so nice, let us use the Wi-Fi and kept the drinks coming. Also wasn’t mad at the unpretentious ambiance. Would recommend for a chill experience in not-so-chill midtown.

Loved the vibe of this place. Not too loud, and the crowd here is good too, you can talk properly if that's what you're looking for. This is an upscale Irish pub, and the cocktails are pretty nice. I asked for Jameson's on the rocks, and believe me, the guy didn't stop pouring Jameson's, it was at least 90+ ml.

If I'm here on a Sunday, I come to have brunch. The food is filling and delicious. I'm a fatty so I finish my entire meal and nibble on half of my friends'. Most people, however, will be content with half a breakfast entree. Bread, beers, and food are delicious.
