I’m
conflicted
with
this
place.
I
have
respect
for
the
owner,
Sam
Ross
as
a
bartender.
I
love
the
history
of
this
place
and
the
reputation
that
this
place
exudes,
but
this
is
the
time
where
the
logistics/circumstances
actually
detracted
from
the
overall
experience.
Granted,
it’s
a
Saturday
night
-
busy
as
hell!
I
knew
that
and
was
willing
to
wait
on
the
waiting
list,
which
ended
up
being
2
hours
(6:40
-
8:40)
approximately.
Just
stayed
nearby
the
area
and
eagerly
waited
for
a
call.
Once
we
got
the
call,
we
were
told
that
we
would
stand
in
the
hallway
until
a
spot
at
the
bar
opens
up.
At
this
point
we
felt
defeated,
but
whatever,
we
made
it.
The
bartender
asked
us
about
our
preferences
and
made
a
Gentleman’s
Buck
and
Troublemaker.
Both
very
on
point
with
the
flavors
I
described
and
both
well
made.
I
do
applaud
the
bartender
on
the
execution.
We
both
enjoyed
the
drinks
for
about
1/3
of
the
Collins
glass.
The
issue
is
that
while
drinking
a
cocktail,
we
were
still
standing
in
the
middle
of
a
hallway.
Music
and
sounds
were
loud.
People
walking
back
and
forth.
At
one
point,
my
garnish
fell
and
I
was
focused
on
when
to
bend
over
to
pick
it
up
and
debated
whether
to
leave
it
because
people
were
constantly
walking
back
and
forth,
which
didn’t
give
me
the
pocket
of
time
to
actually
pick
it
up
(I
managed
and
threw
it
away).
So,
for
me,
cocktails
are
meant
to
be
enjoyed
at
a
good
pace
and
with
company
in
a
nice
atmosphere.
The
atmosphere
would
be
nice
if
it
wasn’t
so
packed
and
the
company
would
be
nice
if
I
could
actual
have
a
conversation
face
to
face
with
the
person
I
was
with.
Unfortunately,
being
in
the
hallway
didn’t
afford
that
luxury.
In
the
end,
I
rushed
to
finished
the
drink,
paid,
and
left.
Glad
I
got
the
experience
to
support
a
mixologist
that
I
look
up
to,
but
not
an
experience
I
would
do
again.
